Safari on my MacBook just stopped working. After several failed attempts to fix the problem, I purchased and installed Snow Leopard today. At first there were no issues and I was very relieved. Now when I open Safari, I get a pop up that tells me the community toolbar doesn't support my Safari.

We’re sorry, but the Safari browser version you are currently using does not support the community toolbar. How can I make this box stop coming up since I don't even know what it is. Can it be deleted?

Since updating Safari recently to 5.1.5, if I choose the Mail Link to This Page command, instead of opening Mail.app with a new email with the link pasted in, it launches Google Chrome and, in Chrome, goes to the email login page for Google webmail. If I choose the Mail Contents of This Page command, I get an error message stating: "Safari can't create an email message because Google Chrome.app doesn't support sending webpages from Safari. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send webpages." Safari is set as my default browser. This behavior started immediately after the 5.1.5 update.I use these commands pretty regularly and, through many version of mail.app and Safari, there has never been a glitch. Any ideas, folks? Or is this a bug introduced by 5.1.5 or some other recent Software Update? (Software updates are completely up to date and on 10.7.3.)

I have Lion 10.7.2 and am running Safari version 5.1.2, hopefully I am good so far. I'm not sure what hapenned, I must have done something, but one day my address bar decided it wanted to play hide and seek and it won....the "show toolbar" option does nothing upon clicking it, neither does the "customize toolbar" option.

I was just playing around with my 11" MBA and found it doesn't seem to support the 64-bit OS X kernel. I tried holding the 6 and 4 keys at bootup then running 'uname -a' in the terminal and it reports I'm still running the 32-bit kernel. I also tried running "sudo systemsetup -setkernelbootarchitecture x86_64" and it reported that the architecture had successfully been changed, but on rebooting I found I was still running the 32 bit kernel.

I thought that I would just point out that when I went to watch the iPod touch Guided Tour on Apple's website, this showed up:I would also like to point out that I upgraded to Snow Leopard, I didn't install Quicktime 7, meaning that Apple's own website doesn't support the newest version on Quicktime.

Safari was accidentally deleted from my MB pro. Im running OSx 10.6.8 with safari 5.0.5.I was able to install it again using the install disk and checked for any software updates but it still is not showing up in my toolbar.I searched and tried the view/customize to drag the default set to toolbar, made sure show toolbar is selected etc, but still no middle section of toolbar. When I would try to drag the default set to toolbar nothing happens. The toolbar area is being shown, with the left and right arrows (on the left) and the Google search window shows (on the right), but the center white window to type web address' is not.Â

This issue has been annoying people for a number of years and all kinds of solutions have been posted by Geniuses, mainly to carefully dump the Safari .plist from the Preferences folder. That does not fix the issue! What does work is this: View, Enter FULL SCREEN. Click it 'OFF'. The display will resize and IF you want to stretch it bigger, you can BUT the Toolbar will stop disappearing!

Suddenly the toolbar at the top that shows the website and a spot to search google is gone. The only way I can access it is to go to Edit>Find>Google Search. Once I've searched the toolbar disappears again and then there is no "back" button, so if I need to search again I have to go back to Edit>Find>Google Search. UGH!

My Safari top toolbar rolls out of sight, this reappears once I move the cursor to the top of the screen but is annoying. Does anyone have any idea how to stop this? If look in View 'Hide Toolbar' is the first option at the top, this is greyed out and cannot do anything with it as a result.
