OS X :: Acquisition Will Not Connect Anymore

I've been using Acquisition for over a year now, great app, love it very much. The other day it stopped connecting. I dismissed it at the time and tried a few hours later to get the same problem. I followed the steps on the sites FAQ to no avail. This got me to thinking that maybe my ISP or router had to do with the problem. I also have the Torrent app by the same person and it connects fine, so it doesn't seem like my router / isp is causing any problems. [URL]

So, I just opened up Acquisition and it seems to just get stuck on "Connecting..."
Is anyone else having this problem? Anyone know of a fix? It worked up until maybe a week ago.

Is there any way to improve the wifi signal acquisition on my 12" g4 powerbook?
I'm noticing that the 14"Ibook I'm comparing my PB to get a better signal sitting side by side.

I was running 10.5.8 on my Mac Pro, and I had file letters mapped in Vista to all of my Mac Pro's drives. Post-upgrade, I can no longer connect to any of the drives -- I can see the Mac Pro in my Network window in Windows, but double-clicking on the Mac Pro results in a password prompt in which no password is accepted. Obviously something has changed on the Mac. I've gone through the Network dialog boxes in 10.6, but can't find any culprit.

My Imac (mid 2007 snow leopard) doenst connect to wifi any more. it used to work but is seems broken. (nothing changed at the network) It doens recognize networks but when ik try to connect it times out.
I tried serveral networks, even removed te password protection of the net works but it doens connect. I tryed the hardware test by pressing D at start up but it dint gave any errors..
My macbook pro connects normally and all by other wifi devices work fine..

I recently purchased a Mac 10.7.3. I was never a Mac user, so I am kind of lost.I was connecting through VPN Network Connect at work, but it recently stopped working. I read a few support stuff saying that there is a bug with the new JAVA update, Juniper Networks and Apple updates. I am not sure if that's what happen. This is the message that I get when I try to load Network Connect : System extension cannot be used The system extension “/usr/local/juniper/nc/7.1.0/nctun_tiger.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update. After I hit cancel and try again, I no longer get the message, but it just loads endlessly. I tried deleting NC and reinstalling it, but it don't work. I tried running the tunnel through Google Chrome rather than Safari. I tried Java updates. Nothing works.IT at work is not Mac friendly and the company that manages all the VPN access is also not that savy and says it's my problem. Given that I am not too familiar with Mac yet, I can't get out of it on my own.

my Ibook sees the network, but refuses the password, same for my husbands iphone, although my iphone still connects.tried relaunching the airport twice, no change.
tried changing airport settings, no change even triend to make it open network, no possibility to connectit seems that my ibook doesn't save the changes...
and even when putting everything back as it was, it still refuses my password to connect to the airport.

all other machines have no problems.It worked earlier in the day-put to sleep-came back- now it can't something is wrong with network settings but nothing changed. Two PC's are connected to same cable/Airport base station wirelessly with no issues it's just my machine. I've rebooted a few times-that didn't help. i can get my macbook's airport to work with my wireless aircard so it's not my the internal wireless modem, it's got to be my wireless settings for the airport basestation itself-but nothing chagned in those few hours it was asleep? I have been having issues for a few weeks requiring that I run diagnosis on this home wireless network connection, but it usually gets resolved and coems back on-now it seems gone.

I have a problem accessing internet from my Mac mini after a move. I recently moved and started to use a router provided by my ISP (Thomson TG789vn). Now my Mac mini gets an local IP address but can't get on the Internet. I have turned off wireless and use cable. As a twist I have wired windows vista machines and wired a linux based NAS (QNap) that all get on internet. Also all wireless devices (Windows Vista, MacBook Air, iPhones, iPads etc) work as expected. It must be some routing setting on the Mini but it looks like it uses the correct gateway and DNSes (I also tried google DNS without success).

I have a blackbook (intel core 2 duo) and I can connect to my landlord's wireless network (they have a netgear wgt624) but I can't actually use the web (Safari or Firefox will just "think"). I've tested the diagnostics and it confirms that my mac can connect to the network, but it cannot connect to the internet. The network uses WPA personal and it has a 19-aphanumeric passphrase.
*Also - would it be possible for me to extend the wireless range (and make it possible to browse the web) if I used my own 2wire wireless modem to connect to the netgear wgt624?

Using transmission and an old airport extreme. All of a sudden I can't download any torrents at all. I didn't change any settings or anything. I have tried changing the port mapping to different various ports and none of those made it work. My original port which worked was 31337 I have tried 4040, 6984, and 6999; none of those new ports made any difference.

Every time i try to burn a cd/dvd on my mbp no matter which burn application i choose.. the superdrive likes to rejeckt the medium since the 10.5.2 update and it says there was an intern error.
Is there a way to check what's wrong with my superdrive, what can i do?

I've been using spaces ever since I bought my macbook pro and found it very useful. But after installing snow leopard, I haven't been able to use it properly. I currently have spaces enabled and have 2 spaces... when I activate spaces to show all spaces, I used to be able to switch between them by clicking on the space that I wanted to move to... however, I can't do that now. Every time I want to switch between the spaces, I also go back to the one I was already on.

How it happened but I basically don't have an administrative account anymore, all I have is 1 standard user. I cannot boot into single user and I do not have the install disks and I was wondering if anybody had a solution to either turn my current user into an admin or create a new admin.

Basically with both safari and google chrome when ever im on the web and I click download on something instead of it automatically downloading it just loads a blank page. I think there might be a setting turned off stopping files from being downloaded from the internet but I have no clue.

I received a semi working powerMac G4 Cube from a freecycle community, and while initially it worked fine, I had to dissemble the unit to replace the dvd drive which had a dvd stuck in it. I used one from a second unit that I was also given and I think the dvd is also bad , as placing the 'software installer', which I presume is OS9, causes dvd unit to make what sounds like spinning noise ( Does not sound to me like its reading anything ), and then after a few seconds it spits it right back out, and this happens everytime.Before I dissembled the unit, the cube at least booted into OS9 just fine, yet I am sure I put everything back properly.I might have chosen a bad setting in system perferences I suppose, and if so is there a fix short of getting a new dvd unit so I can reinstall OS 9 ? Also, I did try 'control' while startup, and it takes me to a very odd screen, with a icon for 'reload' ( browser icon similarity ) , or what looks like a right arrow. Choosing either does nothing, short of showing what looks like a watch moving in circular fashion.

So my mid 2010 Macbook pro won't read CD's anymore. When I put a cd into the tray, all it does it make some noises then spits it back out. I rarely use the cd drive actually. Whats the problem? Am I going to have to pay Apple 100's of dollars to get this fixed when I already spent more than $1000 on the macbook itself? Please say thats not the case.

Normally when I put a DVD or cd in my DVD player it starts automatically but sins this week it doesn’t work anymore.
When I put a DVD in the player I hear the DVD spinning but after a while it stops and nothing further happens.
When I starts up DVD player and try to play the DVD an message appears that no supported disc available is.

I am finally upgrading to icloud. I know it's been a while. So I threw in the Snow Leopard and updated it to 10.6.8 now I'm looking for Lion and all i get is that Mtn Lion is coming in July. Which is great, but I want icloud now. Where do I find Lion 10.7?

I have a macbook and have been looking at macbook pro as I may upgrade. It doesn't look like any of the apple notebooks on the market now have DVD drives in them. Because if it is, it's not a good thing, in my opinion.

I recently got a new hard drive put into my computer as the other one broke and I lost everything previously on my hard drive.
I now have a fresh hard drive and it had all of the regular things on it such as iCal, iTunes, Safari, Photo Booth (all of the things macs usually come with) but did not come with iPhoto so I can no longer upload photos onto my computer!!

I don't know what's wrong with it.My ipod touch connects just fine and yet when i try to connect my new macbook it won't allow me to connect.I've never owned a macbook - so i have no idea how to fix this.
I currently have the network setup assistant running and configuring - but it's been about an hour and it hasn't done anything.Is there something else i need to do?

What i did was open the ipod through mycomputer (windows XP) and cut the folder that contains all my music and pasted it into mydocuments so i had full amount of memory on my ipod to use it as a memory device. I gave it to my friend to put some videos into my ipod again through mycomputer. He didnt allow the ipod to sync on his itunes. Now i have it back i plugged it into my pc and my itunes couldnt pick it up and neither can mycomputer. I left it plugged in and restarted my pc when it booted up i opened itunes and it was sort of froze, after leaving it for a minute or two my ipod cam e up on itunes but it said it was corrupt. I ran the restore over night as it was taking along time and when i cam back this morning it was still doing it! Whats wrong with my ipod?! is there any other way to system reset it? do you think my mate should have synced it with his pc?
