So, I just opened up Acquisition and it seems to just get stuck on "Connecting..."
Is anyone else having this problem? Anyone know of a fix? It worked up until maybe a week ago.
I've been using Acquisition for over a year now, great app, love it very much. The other day it stopped connecting. I dismissed it at the time and tried a few hours later to get the same problem. I followed the steps on the sites FAQ to no avail. This got me to thinking that maybe my ISP or router had to do with the problem. I also have the Torrent app by the same person and it connects fine, so it doesn't seem like my router / isp is causing any problems. [URL]

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have macbook intel 2.0 GHz and Mac OS X 10.4.11.I had no problems with connecting with belkin g plus mimo router (f5d9230-4) before, but suddenly it dropped down the connection.It was about two months ago, in meantime I was trying to reset modem and router many times, I did "restore factory default" on the router and set it up again, I was trying to change location in network system preferences, but it doesn't work.I see my router as available in airport networks list, but I am not able to connect to it, it shows "password is not valid" when I'm trying to do it by network setup assistant, and "there was an error joining the airport network" when by airport scroll down menu.
I was also trying to set router as a open network, or to change the password.My other wireless devices like iphone 3g have no problems with setting up such connection, but my macbook must be wired if I want to access internet at the moment

I'm noticing that the 14"Ibook I'm comparing my PB to get a better signal sitting side by side.
so the other day i opened my computer and it wouldn't connect to the internet. it had been working fine before that and nothing had changed, it just stopped connecting. I have full signal and can connect to the network, but my internet signal on the top bar has an exclamation point and says "Alert: no internet connection." My roommates can both connect with their computers so i dont know the problem! i've looked for solutions on other forums and havet tried deleting "airport" as a source and then re-adding it, deleting the system configuration folder, renewing the DHCP lease, nothing works.

I'm running mail (Version 7.3 (1878.2)). For some reason that I cannot fathom, imap accounts stopped working on June 10 or so.
I can fix this by setting the imap server to the ip address of the server, rather than its name.
I can confirm that the name is properly resolved to the address in terminal.

I'm working with a Mac Pro (2x3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon, 4 GB RAM) and a dual 23" monitor setup. Quite recently the second monitor stopped responding, after disconnecting everything, moving, and reconnecting. (Everything was boxed lovingly in its original packaging and moved by gentle movers.)
It isn't the monitors � both work fine in the first monitor port. The computer recognizes there is a second monitor attached, allowing me to access Arrangement options under System Preferences > Displays.
The power light on the second monitor comes on, blinking in the following manner (if it were Morse Code): dot dash dot....(then it is dark for about four seconds before repeating the same blinking sequence). It appears to have some sort of meaning.
Any ideas? Is there a way to reset this?
Once in a while when I use my 15' MBP 2010 (GeForce 330M) on my bootcamp I experince screen blinking which then my system would say: "Nividia Driver Stopped". Have you guys been experincing this? Is there a way to stop it?

I get so far as being able to download my email but can not send email or connect to the internet with safari.
I enter the IP address through System Prefs - Network.
I enter it under DHCP with manual address. I can not find anywhere to enter a port number
I run all the usual diagnostics (through safari when it can't connect)
I am the only mac user on the rig, and as I am only there for 2-3 days at a time I can't seem to find anyone who knows what to do. The are all PC users. I have a MacBook Pro OSX v 10.5.2
I have a PC laptop and I'm trying to connect to a work Mac OS X server. I read notes from Mosguy on 10.20.06 and followed those steps. I am not connecting. I need to be able to connect offsite for when I travel or work from home.

I've had my macbook pro for 4 years now with out any problems. However, a few weeks ago my airport stopped connecting for no reason. I have tried to reconnect through the network settings but it still won't work. However, if I am in the same room as my router then the airport will connect wirelessly to the internet. But as soon as I leave the room my internet signal will go out. I know its not a problem with my router because all the other computers in my house can recieve signal anywhere in the house.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI reformatted my macbook pro with Snow Leopard installed about half a week ago and it has stopped connecting to our wifi. The icon it shows for wifi is no bars with a '!'. It sees our Internet in the menu bar but fails to connect properly. I have tried resetting the PRAM, that does nothing. All other computers in the house can connect to it. I've tried turning the laptop, airport and our house's Internet off and on again. None of this has worked. Any ideas?

I have to occasionally hook up my Macbook (not a Pro) to various digital projectors at different companies. I bought the $20 attachment thing. I brought it in and have not been able to get any projector to recognize it at all. This is on several different projectors. I try hooking it up both before and after turning the computer on and it doesn't work. I went to "Display" in System Preferences but there is nothing there about changing the display (to "dual" or "mirror" or anything), it just says "Color LCD" and some preferences about size, bits and stretching. There are no tabs. The worst part is that I teach at a lot of tech companies, so the people there should all know how to fix it, but...1.) can't read English that well, and my Chinese is OK but not *that* good, and 2.) they all use PCs. Macs are like aliens to them. So they can't fix it either. The manual is worse than useless.

i have allowed ports 135-139,445 in the firewall, but still no luck
I can now only access the internet via Firefox and Entourage. For the last two days, Safari, itunes and Google Earth say they cant open the page because it could not connect to the server .I have run the disk utility and ONYX and have not been able to restore the internet access to these apps.The problem appeared after starting up the computer the next day after successfully using Safari and itunes the previous day.

I deleted everything FF related from my drive, as well as the app & started from scratch. Downloaded a fresh version from their website, installed, and still nothing. Tried the obvious & rebooted - nothing.
For some unknown reason no YouTube videos will play in Chrome anymore. I have not installed any new extensions or anything since it was last working. YouTube is working fine in every other browser... Also tried uninstalling and reinstalling and restarting my iMac of course, a no go.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIt might be just a minor problem, but Mail stopped making sounds. No new mail sound, no reassuring jetplane sound when a mail is sent, no blip when there's nothing going on. I've checked the preferences, and they should still be turned on.
Also, I've got the impression something hapened to either my keychain or my cookies in Safari, since I had to login to a bunch of forums and other sites that I can normally just check. Firefox doesn't seem to have this problem, but I prefer Safari as my primary internet browser.
I'm using Entourage 2008 with an exchange server account and this morning it stopped receiving email into the inbox on my account.
Where I've set rules to move incoming emails into other folders these are still being received and re-directed, but anything that should go straight into the Inbox is not showing up.
Other mailboxes that I have added as Delegates are also functioning as they should and mail is coming into them ok.
I have access to Outlook via a VMWare image running Windows XP and there I can see all the mail coming in ok, so I am definitely being sent stuff.
Any mail I send (either from Entourage or Outlook) shows up in my Sent Items and messages I deleted in the Outlook Inbox show up in Deleted Items in Entourage.
I thought maybe there was a filter set that was restriciting the view of my Inbox to everything received yesterday and earlier, but I can't see anything. I've tried searching (both in Entourage and Spotlight) for messages I can see in the Outlook Inbox to check if they've been moved or filtered somewhere else, but they don't show up in any searches.
I'm now completely stumped! Everything was fine yesterday, but this morning nothing.
So my mail stopped working abruptly even though It had been working for the last year. I rechecked my settings to make sure that my school didnt change anything and it hasnt been changed. Now I want to know if I can set up Mail with exchange with these settings and what settings are to be used ?

Just a bunch of images and some audio.
When I export via File > Export > Quicktime Movie..., the cross dissolves between images disappear when I watch the movie in Quicktime.
When I export via File > Export > Using Quicktime Conversion... the color looks horrible in the Quicktime movie.
I had my time machine backed up to a NAS.
I used the hack of unsupported drives to make the NAS avalable.
The NAS is formatted as FAT32 (It came like that, and i use it with windows PCs, i dont know if i reformat it if it will stop working).
I'm using an iMac(seen in sig.) and I had installed Photoshop, and while of course a little slow due to Rosetta it worked. Then maybe a week ago, it just seemed to stop opening up and crashing immediately. I'm running OSX 10.4.8, everything is properly updated and I've reinstalled photoshop a few times to no avial. The problem didn't seem to occur after any change, I might have just not noticed it though.
