View 2 Replies View RelatedI have suddenly problems with using gmail, facebook, adc, etc. Everything was ok until yesterday afternoon. Since then I am unable to open i.e. gmail messages, facebook (anything but the home page), log in into the adc, etc ... It looks like pages where complex Javascript is used cause the problems. I am using a macbook pro with the latest software updates installed. I have tried on Safari 4, FF 3, Opera 9. I checked on my other two iMacs I have in-house ... same problem, although they are running Safari 3. The curious thing is that the only PC we have in-house works without problem on all those web sites. I have also switched off all devices on the network to see if there is no influence and i can't find no anormal traffic on the local network either. I thought about some kind of virus and erased my hard disk and re-installed from the original DVD.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using Safari 4.0.2. I was trying to login to Facebook, but yesterday, I got this message that says: "Safari can't open the page [URL] because Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server [URL]." It has continued to happen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI put off doing the software update on Safari... I just HAD a feeling something would go wrong and I didn't have time to mess with it if it did.
So today I ran and update. And it messed up.
Now Safari will "open"... it looks like it is open and I have access to all the menus. But a Safari window will not open.
I am surprised that I haven't seen others with this problem. I have tried deleting the cache and deleting the preferences file. Neither seem to have made ANY difference.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. And I am feeling like I'm missing a body part. I need my Safari back!
every time i try to get on safari, it wont open.
if i quit it, a message pops up saying " the application Safari has quit unexpectedly "
i have no other browser, so i cant post the errors or whatever.
i tried deleting the safari.plist file, tried the disk utility, tried another account, just no luck.
i have a mac OS X 10.5.8.
its been about 24 hours. need it for school.
also, i don't have any of the software i bought it awhile ago off of craigslist.
I have some trouble connecting to my wireless network using my macbook air. The problem is, when ever I go to my homepage which is google it shows the webpage but then if I went to search for something it shows " safari can't open the page" and I went back to my homepage it won't work again! showing safari can;t open the page.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm able to watch videos on youtube and other webpages, just not anything on facebook. Not even ones that i have submitted myself. I've already wiped out my whole harddrive and reinstalled it, repaired any disk utilities, disk permissions, made sure i've got the newest version of adobe, and made sure that all of my software is updated. I just don't know what else it could be. I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.8, Snow Leopard. Also, whenever i click on the video to play, it just appears as a small black box.Ps: I'm using Safari and would like to continue to use it.

I was browsing on Twitter.com, and when I tried to follow someone there, it redirected me to Facebook.com. Now, whenever I type in twitter.com in Safari or Firefox I'm immediately redirected to facebook.com. In fact, twitter is being replaced by facebook in the url, so that if I type www.twitter.com/someone I get redirected to www.facebook.com/someone.

I have no internet issues anywhere else, just cannot load facebook, gmail, or google search. This has been going on for a few weeks. NEVER had the problem before, and no other computers in the house have any issues at all, but this is our only apple.....

I've tried doing things with proxy. I've tried resetting Safari. I've tried doing things with cookies. I've tried disabling extensions. Next step is to try throwing my laptop out the window. This only started happening yesterday and there is no issues with other sites. It's not my internet connection. I can't get to Facebook by direct URL or through google or through links in my history. Macbook Pro bought in 2012 with Mountain Loin.

Everytime I go to the MLB page of ESPN, Safari loads the page, then beachballs. I then have to force quit the application.
This seems to happen on pages that have video.
Safari 4.0.3
OS X 10.6.1

Newest Flash Player downloaded and installed.
I was not having any problems until I updated my Safari to the latest version, 5.1.4. Now I can't get into any of my MS Office applications or my HP Director. I get a message saying "____ quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to Apple automatically". But when I select 'Reopen' it keeps on returnng to that page which is filled with details that don't mean anything to me - lots of numbers and the repeated use of the word 'crash'. All I can do is select 'OK' which closes that box but doesn't open the apps.

As stated in the title, when I try to download a file from the internet, clicking on the link associated to the file will not start a download, but instead opens a new tab in my browser showing the url of the associated file. If I then right-click and choose 'Download linked file as...' the file can be downloaded with no issues in most of the cases, at least as long as the website allows right-click downloads to happen.I have tried resetting Safari, emptying the cache and, of course, updating my software. It is a midly annoying problem, but it doesn't happen when I use other web browsers in my iMac.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had some problems accessing Safari Internet, which is what I used previously. I can access Internet Explorer, but all web pages are incomplete and jumbled; nor am I able to download anything, including trying to download Safari. My iTunes will not open either, and I cannot view any type of video, using Adobe Flash player. I never used to have any of these issues before. The current Internet setup is At&t Broadband. I am wondering if you might be able to suggest what the problem is, and how to remedy it.
