i recently tried to upload videos to facebook from my mac, but facebook says they do not support it, is there a way to change the file name so it accepts it, or is facebook just being racist to macs? the following names are the names of the videos it wont upload.

I'm able to watch videos on youtube and other webpages, just not anything on facebook. Not even ones that i have submitted myself. I've already wiped out my whole harddrive and reinstalled it, repaired any disk utilities, disk permissions, made sure i've got the newest version of adobe, and made sure that all of my software is updated. I just don't know what else it could be. I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.8, Snow Leopard. Also, whenever i click on the video to play, it just appears as a small black box.Ps: I'm using Safari and would like to continue to use it.

I finally was able to get the uploader screen to generate but now I cant select anything to attempt to upload. When I use the simple uploader I get the error: Firefox can't find the server at [URL]. I have snow leopard osx and I am using the newest firefox.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI seem to have some problems with Java. For instance, when trying to upload photos in Facebook, the java "thing" won't work. It's no longer asking me if I trust the certificate. This has happened on other websites as well.
I have tried to go in to Java webstart in Utilites and when it opens I am getting these messages:
"java.security.PrivilagesActionException: java.io.IOException: permission denied"
"java.lang.NullPointerException"
I'm not quite sure what all this means and to be honest I'm not really sure "what" java actually is (is embarrassed).
I am very disappointed to find that iPhoto only uploads photos to Facebook & Flickr in complete sets. I was really looking forward to this feature as I use both websites regularly, and assumed I would be able to upload just one picture, and choose what album I would add that photo to online. But no, iPhoto needs me to have an entirely new Flickr album matching an entire iPhoto event.

File > Export > Login (which brings me to the Login page on Facebook) > I sign in & that's when I get the message. I've even tried hitting the Facebook tab on the bottom right. Does anyone have any solutions to my problem?

I have the latest MacBook Pro (see sig) and for some reason when i try to record a video on someones facebook wall or in a message, the camera will turn on for a second then turn off and facebook says "look for camera again" and it never works. When i right click on the video box and go to flash settings, its set to USB for webcam and when i double click to check it in settings it'll show me (meaning the camera is working from the usb setting), but when i go back to the facebook video box my camera will never turn on. anyone have a fix for this? All other macs i've used have done this just fine.

i have one of the new macbooks, one of the aluminum bodied ones. I want to upload some videos onto it from camcorder, but i cant seem to do it unless i use a firewire cable. of course, the new macbooks dont have an input for a firewire cable.

I post videos over on http://youtube.com/xpxvistaxosx and wanted to post an unboxing of Snow Leopard and a couple of other related videos about Snow Leopard. I have one problem, when ever I go to the Youtube upload page the video page just loads and never finishes rendering the web page, It isn't the web browser because I have tried Safari, Firefox and Omniweb and still no luck. I did have Glims for Safari and thought that could have been interfering but all traces of Glims are gone from my computer. Also the cache on all the web browsers have been reset so I really don't know what the problem could me. I really want to upload these videos on to the web and would greatly appreciate any help I could get.

Since then I am unable to open i.e. gmail messages, facebook (anything but the home page), log in into the adc, etc ... It looks like pages where complex Javascript is used cause the problems. I am using a macbook pro with the latest software updates installed. I have tried on Safari 4, FF 3, Opera 9. I checked on my other two iMacs I have in-house ... same problem, although they are running Safari 3. The curious thing is that the only PC we have in-house works without problem on all those web sites. I have also switched off all devices on the network to see if there is no influence and i can't find no anormal traffic on the local network either. I thought about some kind of virus and erased my hard disk and re-installed from the original DVD.
