MacBook Pro :: Facebook Cannot Load On My Computer
May 23, 2012Yesterday facebook just stopped working. I was on my timeline on my profile and it froze my internet and I managed to get off facebook. Since then, I have had a diffcult time getting on facebook on my computer (all other websites have worked so far). My profile has loaded on two other computers fine (one of those other computers was a mac). One of those computers uses firefox and the other safari. I have already tried removing my cookies and cache and looked up other suggestions online but none seem to work. When I remove my cookies, sometimes facebook will let me log in and then stop working again. It's not my profile (I never sign out) because other profiles have the same problem. When I removed my cache for the first time it worked nicely for like 30 seconds before it began not doing anything again.

OS X :: Facebook Games Won't Work After Install Snow Leopard
Nov 5, 2009I have a MacBook and just upgraded my OS couple of days ago from 10.4 to Snow Leopard 10.6.1. Well actually my husband did it for me (Im not great with the technical stuff lol) and tells me it wasn't a clean install but that Apple didn't state this was necessary. Anyway everything seemed fine until I tried to access any of the online games I play from time to time on FaceBook. I don't know if any of you are familiar with the apps I'm talking about but basically you have 'neighbours' and can gift items back and forth, well all my neighbours in all games have disappeared and I have disappeared off their lists too. I found out that Adobe had vanished during the upgrade so I have now installed the latest version of that but although this enabled me to see one of the games I still don't exist on them!! The other games just wont even load - all very strange. Why should a change of OS effect online games anyway? I'm hoping that someone can tell me what I should do about this.....I know that Facebook games aren't particularly crucial but it's frustrating me not knowing why this has happened.

I've got no network software running in the background (other than dropbox), and I don't think I've set up a custom DNS. Not really sure how to check what it is. This is an on and off thing, sometimes facebook loads, sometimes it doesn't. Using computers connected to the same WiFi, I can freely access Facebook with no issues.

Jun 20, 2012A couple of weeks ago facebook stopped loading on my mac. I thought it might be a virus or something, so I restored my mac and now use a different web browser (google chrome instead of safari). Facebook still doesn't load unless I delete my history, and even then it just opens the first page and then stops, and now Yahoo doesn't load either. The other computers & the iPad in my house load everything just fine, and when I took my computer to a friend's house, Facebook and Yahoo worked on their internet. Why is it just my computer that's unable to load these web pages on my specific home internet

Safari :: Facebook Won't Load?
Jun 29, 2012I have a eGo ITB 800 Firewire drive which has been running fine with Time Machine on my Leopard OSX 10.5 IMac. I just got a new IMac running Lion OSX 10.7.3 and want to migrate my files to the new machine. The new Lion IMac will not mount the drive. I updated the system software today, so it has the latest patches.
1. It appears under Devices in the Finder but Migration Assistant does not "see" it at all. Time Machine DOES recognize it as an Iomega HDD, though I have Time Machine turned off because I don't want to make a back up of the new machine until I transfer the files from the old one.
2. When I connect with Firewire 800, System Information will see a drive there, but it says "unknown device".
3, When I connect with USB, System Information will see the Iomega HDD there and report on it's specs. Â
4. I power cycled the drive to see if that would help and I got the warning that I should unmount drives first.Â
5. In the finder, I can see my old files on the Iomega.Â
6. I can't find any information on this one the Iomega web site, and they say that no software upgrades or drivers are necessary.
All of this implies to me that the disk is ok and the connections are ok. Does anyone know how can I get this drive mounted and working so I can transfer my files?

Jun 2, 2012I have a 5-year old intel MacBook that I use strictly for browsing. In the last week or so, Facebook pages have taken forever to load. I have a 10mpbs internet connection (DSL) and all other pages load just tine on this computer. I have another Macbook with Snow Leopard (about 2 years old) and Facebook loads on it just fine. I've tried Safari and Firefox and I get the same results.

Jun 6, 2012First Facebook stopped loading on my computer. Now Yahoo will not load. All other sites seem to load with no issues. I have tried all of the recommended items that I could find including but not limited to Empty Cache, Reset Safari, Cleaning cookies, Adding or changing DNS, clearing history.plist and everything else I could find in the communities. It seems that the pages I visit the most are the ones with issues. I should note that I have had some instances of Safari closing unexpectedly and times where I have had to use force quit.

Jun 2, 2012I'm able to watch videos on youtube and other webpages, just not anything on facebook. Not even ones that i have submitted myself. I've already wiped out my whole harddrive and reinstalled it, repaired any disk utilities, disk permissions, made sure i've got the newest version of adobe, and made sure that all of my software is updated. I just don't know what else it could be. I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.8, Snow Leopard. Also, whenever i click on the video to play, it just appears as a small black box.Ps: I'm using Safari and would like to continue to use it.

Mar 27, 2009I have suddenly problems with using gmail, facebook, adc, etc. Everything was ok until yesterday afternoon. Since then I am unable to open i.e. gmail messages, facebook (anything but the home page), log in into the adc, etc ... It looks like pages where complex Javascript is used cause the problems. I am using a macbook pro with the latest software updates installed. I have tried on Safari 4, FF 3, Opera 9. I checked on my other two iMacs I have in-house ... same problem, although they are running Safari 3. The curious thing is that the only PC we have in-house works without problem on all those web sites. I have also switched off all devices on the network to see if there is no influence and i can't find no anormal traffic on the local network either. I thought about some kind of virus and erased my hard disk and re-installed from the original DVD.
