I have about 20 hours of low res digicam videos sitting in iphoto. When I launch Imovie, it loads all 20 hours without asking then proceeds to quit unexpectedly if I try to do anything. Is there a way to prevent iphoto from loading all of them without deleting the videos from my iPhoto library? I have about a 30 minute video I would like to edit I'm frustrated. How about removing all those clips except the ones I care about? Can I do that? (after waiting 20-30 minutes for them to load)
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk, last night there was an update for OSx Lion. I installed the 3 items, it said I needed to restart, which I did. When it restarted there was another box, which was checking the updates or something. After that finished, it logged into my home screen, and I shut it off. Today, I tried turning it on and it was stuck. After 10 minutes, I held the power button to shut it off and try again. I did this twice, and on the third time a loading bar showed up at the bottom of the screen, went for a while and almost reached halfway, then it dissappeared. I waited, but nothing happened. What's wrong and how to I fix it? I think its 10.7.3, but it might be 10.7.2 I'm not sure what the difference is.

I've been using pages in my macbook pro for more than a year without any problem but lately whenever I open pages it gets stucked loading, when I'm opening it the progress bar that appears at the beginning never disappears. I've already tried to force quiting pages to open it again but when I open pages again the problem persists. I still can write and modify the files that were previously opened but I can't open new files nor close the ones that are already opened.Â
This is the progress bar that never quits. Â I have mountain Lion and pages 09 version. My mac is a macbook pro Mid 2012.Â

Using my Mac earlier today I lost all sound output, and attempted to reboot it to try and fix the problem. Now instead of booting it's stuck on the white loading screen. I've tried turning it off and on again from here, but I still get the same result.

FCPX 10.1.2 gets stuck while loading a project: the status bar on top of the window saying "Loading xxx project" shows the task is completed with a full blue bar but nothing happens and the panel doesn't go away. Only a few commands are available (not greyed out) in the menus; the Quit Final Cut Pro is available but I get a beep and nothing happens when I select this command. Only way to exit is to Force quit (opt-cmd-esc).Â
The strange thing is that I did not try to open that xxx project in the timeline. I was just trying to copy a range from a compound clip in the timeline into another compound clip already open in (another level of) timeline: just after selecting the range (R) FCP X decided to load project xxx and it got stuck.
Another weird thing is that while the Loading panel was visible and I had no control on FCPX, FCPX started to render the compound clip in the timeline. So I waited hoping that at its end (not the usual behavior... but ok) I could continue working. No way: rendering finishes, but the Loading panel is still there.Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe computer is stuck on the apple screen with the spinning wheel. I can manage to boot up in safe mode but that is it. This arose from an apple security software download recently and when the machine went to reboot it could not. Now on a normal boot up it just sits on the grey screen with the spinning wheel for hours (if let). I have booted up in safe mode and removed anything from the Accounts that was other than the iTunes helper - rebooted - nothing
I have attempted an SMC and PRAM - again on reboot - nothing. I have also started in option mode but there are only two symbols that I can use one is a circular arrow, which does nothing when clicked and the other is a right pointing arrow that appears to attempt to launch OS X, to no avail. I have also tried the option of rebooting with the install disk in the drive and holding down the C key - again nothing.
My 2006(ish) Intel core 2duo 2.16 mhz 20"Â imac wont start up, it only stays at the loading screen, how can i fix this?

I have a 12" PB and latelly became a nightmare with the stuck CDs. Usually it does not want to eject CDs/DVDs from companies but it handles fine virging cds/dvds. ?? Probably there is some formating in the industrial kind of CDs outside, who knows.just want to open this thread for people with the same problem. If the drive tries to eject but can't and end up mounting the CD again. Just take another CD and when you press eject again push that CD into the slot but just one third and you will see the stuck CD coming out with no problem as well.It seems there is a sensor or something that obviously does not work well. I inserted a virgin CD and the drive worked just fine and ejected later on, but a CD as the installer for my Linksys get stuck and some other softwares too.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI software updated my iMac g5 (powerPC 1.6 OR 1.9GHz), with the mac OSX updated(170mb), and it never fully completed the download, said it had problems with the package. So I restarted it, and now its just stuck on the blue screen with the grey box (where it loads the IP extension, etc).

I booted up my Mac Mini last monday to find for some reason it is stuck in that loading screen which displays a grey background, the apple logo and a round loading swirly sign. I have tried running disc utility and trying to repair it but it dosent detect any errors, I also tried clearing the PRAM according to Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM and still no joy. I've done a total reinstall of OSX and went through an hour and a half of erasing and reinstalling osx from its supplied discs, however still it wont get past the loading screen.
I've used a usb hard drive aswell and tried installing osx onto that to see if it was a hard drive error but it still gets stuck at the same loading screen. I can access safe mode without a problem. I have done numerous hours of searching the web without any luck to a cure to my specific problem. Specs are Mac Mini 1.66GHZ intel duo core 2, 1gb ram, 10.6 OSX (upgraded from 10.5) 100gb hard drive I have also started up in Verbose mode and got alot of info that I don't really understand, I've attached screen shots of where the loading screen gets stuck in verbose upon 4 attempts at booting up the mini.
I just imported some photos into IPhoto 09 and shortly afterwards my IMac did a hard shut down. Now when I open IPhoto I get the following error:
The Photo Library nees to be upgraded to work with this version of IPhoto.
After that I click on upgrade and get the following msg:
Can't open current photo library using this version of Iphoto.
Certain photos in my iphoto library cannot load. When I attempt to enlarge, move or edit these photos a grey screen with a large "!" appears. What is wrong? Can I fix this and save the affected photos?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy iphoto will not open it just sits there and acts like it is about to load by bouncing on the dock. I get no message saying it can't open it will eventually just stop acting like it's going to load. Now the main photo icon for iphoto has eve changed it looks like a blank piece of paper with a pencil and pen at the bottom of it, and it used to be that signature iphoto sunset.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy iPhoto is constantly loading..and I can't look at my library. I've tryed holding the "alt" and "command" buttons, then clicking iPhoto..then selecting "repair photo library". But it's STILL loading. I can't use it or see any of my pictures. Don't know if it was a corrupt file I downloaded or what..

I've had my macbook pro for about a month. Its everything you read about when you make the switch. Great build, screen, keyboard, stable, ease of use. Everything...except internet surfing. It's a big disappointment. I spend a lot of time waiting for pages to load..or getting the safari can't open message. (When I refresh this page I often will get the page to pop right up.)
I loaded a plug in recommended in the site "my first mac"...but no difference. I loaded firefox but get the same results. My 3 year old sempron dell inspiron and my wifes new Dell studio 17 both kick the macbook pro's butt in surfing so i don't believe its my home network. I have gone to the genius bar and they did some minor stuff but I have the same issues still.
I cannot open my iphoto because i am constantly receiving the message "the application quit unexpectedly" I have tried everything!!!!first & foremost I have archived & installed osx already 2 times.I have tried holding down the options key and building a new library..doesnt work.I have typed in fsck -fy and rebooted and rebuilt disk permissions.i cant seem to find the file .com.apple.iphoto etc its not in my preference folders to erase it
