May 21, 2009I'm having issues when trying to click on a link on a webpage or pop up. Firefox and Safari are not registering when I click on a link or button. I've only been using a Mac for only about 5 days now so I don't know all the settings and what they do.
Also this was working two days ago. If there something I disabled or enabled, how can I fix it or re-trace my steps. I need this to download PSD's for my artwork.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Create A Workflow That Will Monitor A Webpage?
Jun 10, 2012I am trying to create a workflow that will monitor a webpage and send me email if the page contains a certain keyword. I got it working, I get email; the email contains the keyword, or is an empty message when the keyword is missing.I would rather not get these empty messages is possible. Until I figure this out, I may send these message at some gmail address and create a fiter there to forward only message with that keyword. Not elegant but should work. Anyway, long term I want a more elegant solution. Here is what I have in Automator:
1) Get Specific ULRs
2) Get Text from Webpage
3) Filter Paragraphs (and here is where I check whether the keyword shows up or not)
4) New mail message (which contains they keyword from #3, or is empty)
5) Send outgoing messages.
As I said, the workflow always works, and will send a message with that keyword, or an empty message. How do I make the workflow send email ONLY if they keyword is detected? There is not IF in Automator as far as I can see. This is the first time I try to do something in Automator so maybe I am missing something.

Aug 18, 2006I found a utility that allows me to copy a file's location to the clipboard, but is there a way to create a link to a file location? I'd like to be able to send co-workers a link to files or folders on shared servers, so they can just click the link and get to that location in their Finder. I seem to remember doing this with Windows. Can it be done in OS X?

Apr 10, 2012The website where I pay bills online has a hot link that says "print" and when I click on it, the printout is in a teeny tiny font.Â
The document that I print after paying each bill is the confirmation of the payment transaction. But it's almost too small to be read without a magnifying glass.Â
I can't find where or how to increase the font size of the printout.  Firefox preferences doesn't include any sort of font size preference to choose from; and my printer application in Settings doesn't list font sizes to choose from or to set as my default size.   Â
PageSetup allows me to choose a paper size, but not a font size. Â

Nov 22, 2010I want to create a symbolic link of my MobileSync Backup folder on my boot drive. That folder contains my iphone and ipad bckups and its getting large. I want to move it off my SSD.
I'm using SymbolicLinker plugin to do so. I can easily make the symbolic link but I dont understand the proper way to move it. Do I move the symbolic link to the drive I want it to be stored on or do I move the symbolic link to the SSD where I dont want the data stored?

Apr 4, 2012I recently purchased a Mac Pro desk top to create and burn DVD's. While I have two slots to burn DVD's I was not told that Lion sysrtem doesn't supprt iDVD! In fact there is no software on the computer to burn a DVD! Apple told me to purchase software from the APP store, which I did. Big mistake. I didn't get what I ordered and it does not work. The company has not answered my emails either. Does any one have any suggestions on how I can burn DVD's or better software?

Apr 5, 2012Since updating Safari recently to 5.1.5, if I choose the Mail Link to This Page command, instead of opening Mail.app with a new email with the link pasted in, it launches Google Chrome and, in Chrome, goes to the email login page for Google webmail. If I choose the Mail Contents of This Page command, I get an error message stating: "Safari can't create an email message because Google Chrome.app doesn't support sending webpages from Safari. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send webpages." Safari is set as my default browser. This behavior started immediately after the 5.1.5 update.I use these commands pretty regularly and, through many version of mail.app and Safari, there has never been a glitch. Any ideas, folks? Or is this a bug introduced by 5.1.5 or some other recent Software Update? (Software updates are completely up to date and on 10.7.3.)

MacBook Air :: Images On Webpage Not Clear?
Mar 13, 2012Just got a MacBook Air, running 10.7.3 and noticing that on many web sites (firefox and safari are the same), the images just are not clear. They are a bit fuzzy, and some have some sort of weird border around them. I have attached a screen shot of the amazon home page. Notice the weird gray area around the letters and images? Is there a setting or something that can make this better?

Mar 24, 2012I am trying to save a homepage. I go into peferences and click on the button. But everytime I go back into safari it comes up with the last tab (or tabs) that were viewed. I am stuck with how to sort this out.Â
P.S When I am shutting down my macbook, everytime the box is checked for reopen windows when logging back in. How can I un check this and save it so I dont have to keep doing it.
