When a program closes by itself and the window pops up asking to send a report to Apple.when I click on the send button I can no longer send these error message.

Cinema tools, Evernote to name a few.I've repaired disk, verified permissions and everything I can think of. The computer runs fine but it's quite annoying that several paid programs just won't open at all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust recently my MacBook (10.6.2) has started to take around a minute to shut down instead of about 2 seconds like it always has done. It displays a lightish blue screen with the loading symbol as seen below the apple logo when starting up any machine. The only thing I have done differently recently is started using an external monitor and kb/mouse. Although I have disconnected all of these and it still does it.

My late 2008 15" MacBook Pro has been taking a lot longer than usual to start up and shut down (lengthy spin wheel cycles).
It is completely up to date with Snow Leopard and I almost never download 3rd party software. I pretty much only use the included iLife apps and a bit of iWork, so I'm not sure what could be slowing the process down. I was thinking I could reinstall Snow Leopard.
My new macbook pro of late 2011 was working perfectly! But i know i shouldnt complain but iv only had it for 5months! Nyways, all of a sudden instead of an instant shut down which it was doing it now takes 5-10 seconds to shut down! And my preference is to shut it down! I dnt like just letting it sleep constantly!?!

My Intel-based imac keeps hanging my programs like Word and Excel, Chrome, Firefox, etc. I force quit, then try to re-start, but get spinning wheel. I try to shut down and desktop clears, but won't actually shut down unless I push the button. It's doing it every day, almost every time I go to use any of my core programs.
I got a RAM upgrade, and an OWC Mercury Elite Pro HD to take the back ups.
Oh - I also record a moderate amount of music in Garage Band - could this be clogging up everything?

The other day I had an issue with Mac OS, not sure what, but long story short I reinstalled/downgraded to Leopard. I have since installed all the Software Updates and such, but have not upgraded to Snow Leopard. (I'd had alot of issues with it, figured I'd stay downgraded for awhile)
In any case, I was able to download and run Java files no problem on Snow Leopard, but no longer can. It's not a ONE Java file problem.
Just today i noticed i am no longer able to quit any of the open programs by right clicking the icon on the dashboard.

I receive every 10 seconds a message: "Cannot open program ExpressAccountsAgent, because PowerPC-programs are no longer supported". I deinstalled this program with Mackeeper, without result. Mail has been working just fine for ages and then for the last 4 weeks it cannot send any emails and gives me the following error message -
'Cannot send message using the server smtp-mbb.three.co.uk'
I phoned up the isp to see whether they had changed the outgoing mail server at all, and they haven't.
I have tried changing the port numbers to 110, 587 etc, but it still can't send.
I have defragmented the HD, verified it, verified permissions on it, cleared the cache, deleted the keychain password items for the mail accounts and the outgoing mail server details, deleted the mail accounts themselves and created new ones.
Is anyone else having problems with the email? I am not receiving any emails, nor can I send anything out. Spent 30 minutes on online chat last night with someone most unhelpful, only to be told that the reason I'm not receiving anything is because my email is being forwarded to another address. I set my preferences to do that several years ago when this mac.com/me.com server began having so many issues, to ensure I was receiving email so I could check from my other address. The only comment I got was well, we no longer support 10.4.1 so there isn't anything we can do to help you. The status update says 33% of their customers are unable to migrate. So I'm pretty sure I'm not alone and that is a pretty large base of customers to no longer provide support to. Is anyone else who has not migrated to iCloud experiencing these email problems? Currently my iDisk works to transfer my larger files, but my email does not.

I have a question about using my new samsung tv as a monitor for my macbook. I have all the cables and such and my TV reads the computer. It actually shows the desktop background, mouse, and the toolbar on the tv...
BUT....when i try and open a program such as safari or itunes it does not display the program on the monitor but rather on my macbook screen. It shows the program open on the tv monitor but it shoots off the screen and then opens on the macbook screen.
Also the mouse disappears from the tv monitor screen on the left side only, and when it does it becomes visible back on the macbook screen! Any tips or suggestions on how to get the programs to show up on the monitor instead of the macbook screen?
Right, so i got my 13" MBP yesterday and downloaded Fan Control, when i opened it, it showed me that only the left fan was spinning and that the right fan was spinning at -1RPM (i'm taking that as meaning that its not spinning rather that its spinning backwards). Upon seeing this, i ran the Apple Hardware Test that comes on the OS install disks, i ran the short test and nothing was found, so i ran the more in depth test. Seeing that it was going to take a while i went for a shower, as i came back upstair i was greeted by the smell of burning! I realised it was coming from my Macbook Pro and did a hard shut down to try to prevent any/anymore damage. (It was also very hot). I dont want a broken laptop the day after recieving it!

This also just started happening with my iPhoto and iTunes as well. Sometimes my computer will just shut off completely and restart with a message saying there was a problem and it had to shut down. It seems like there is some bug or maybe a third party add on I need to get off?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI ran SuperDuper last night and the backup failed with an unknown error. After, Spotlight didn't find files. I rebooted and at the login screen was given the error message 'backup disc full, delete some files' - problem is, OS X won't boot beyond the starfield screen, so there's no way of deleting files or running the system. I took the drive out and put it in a USB caddy on another machine and ran Disk Utility - it said repairs were needed, so I did this. However, putting it back into the MBP nothing has changed, it still won't boot and insists the disc is full - there is over 180GB free! (I can see this when I mount it on another machine.)

Now I'm trying to compile some annual reports because I list my deductions.However, when I use the iBank Chart system (no matter if I set it to monthly, quarterly or annually) the charts all come out the same (two pages) and I haven't been able to figure out how the figures are derived. For example, one chart insists on including "income" (but I don't know where the figures come from) since I'm trying to complie only "expenses."

I need to be able to print my reports in quickbooks, but it's telling me there is no printer installed in windows even though I can print outside of windows. I tried to save in the "shared documents" so I could come back and print that way, but the documents don't show up. How can I print through Windows & VirtualBox? I also can't get Windows to recognize my jump drive so I can transfer it to another computer to print either.

I can receive, but I am unable to send anyone anything....any suggestions? I can send files through yahoo...so I'm not too sure why AIM hates me so much.
