View 1 RepliesI'm trying the new Safari and I love the support for the pinch gesture (coming to Firefox in the next version apparently). Anyhow, I find it difficult to control how quickly the page zooms. Is there any setting to slow the zoom down, i.e. make it less sensitive?

I need to give my boss a reason as to why when he uses universal access zoom text on our website becomes blurry ( he did this by mistake). If I don't give him a good enough reason I will have to "fix" the problem.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy view mode in Safari 5.1.3 seems to zoom in or zoom out on its own. I have Mac OSX 10.7.3. As I look at the tool bar on Safari now there is a white dot to the left of the word "View"Â
Has anyone else had this issue?Â
Any suggestions on how to prevent the random zooming?Â

Is there any way to program a regular USB non-magic mouse to do the following:
1. Use the side button to go back to the previous screen.
2. Use the scroll wheel and a keyboard key to zoom the text of a page-- like the Command+ combination, not zoom like Control+scroll.
I am using a wireless mouse on my intel iMac, and when I am using Safari, and no other program, when I am navigating, the screen will suddenly zoom in and get huge. I don't think I am doing anything repeatable when this happens. I cannot do anything to zoom back out. So, I need to go back a page and start over at the normal screen size. This is annoying, especially when I have just reached a page I need to see.

Safari keeps changing the text field on input, do you know how to correct this issue?Â
Here is an example:
Let's say I load www.google.com, it appears in the safari window as usual.
Suppose I begin to type a search in the google search field at the top right of the safari window (not the one on the google page)
if when doing this the sentence is long for the search, at some point randomly, the rest of the text will be entered this time in the google search text field on the google page! (which is the very next text field) So when I hit enter it makes google search half of my request...
Safari changed the text field I was into with no warning. I want to say I do not press tab at any moment. This is annoying really, and this does not appear anywhere else than in Safari. It seems the issue is not systematic, but appears quite often.
I have no universal access setting except "enable access for assistive device" I had to check this box upon installing a software in the past but I can't remember what it was.Â
hope someone knows about this, I failed in figuring out myself
Safari has the Zoom-In function, standart hotkey 'cmd+', and I want my mouse to do that by cmd+scrolling. I use the app 'SteerMouse' for making my mouse's special buttons work, but I couldn't find an option to combine a mouse action (i.e. 'scrolling') with a keyboard key (i.e. cmd).
Someone an Idea?
I have a 11" MBA and find there are two much blank space on both sides. how to change the default zoom level.

I have noticed an issue with Safari's Pinch-To-Zoom feature. When I zoom in on a website containing specific types of buttons, the buttons appear to become full of question marks or something, instead of the button. As far as I can tell, the types of buttons that do this are ones like "Login" buttons, and others.Since I don't know how exaclty to word the description of the buttons, here are examples of them:

When I go here, and zoom in, the buttons by the search input are distorted. This is not specific to wikipedia, because it happens with other buttons like with the kind of glossy look in safari, that become looking like:when I zoom in.

When I visit websites, I constantly have to hit the zoom in button in the Safari menu bar. If I don't do this, there are words that overlap on the page. Is there a way I could make Safari remember my zoom options? I have 18 point selected under the Advanced section of Safari System Preferences. I also use Chrome and Chrome seems to remember my view options.

I just got a new uMBP, previous revision, and when I am using Safari (text zoomed in) and scrolling down the text is left in a "mess". Lines are cut in half horizontally, one line is on top of another etc. I saw it now and again with my classic MBP, but not nearly as bad.
View 8 Replies View RelatedEver since the last security update, I have been having trouble with the text in part of a web page becoming garbled. It happens when I am scrolling through a page. I can fix it by highlighting the text and it will go away. It remains legible after I take the highlighting away. It does not happen every time I scroll, but it does happen randomly throughout the day. I have owned my Macbook for almost a year and this problem has only come up since the last security update.

Started up last night, everything seemed fine. Got the desktop up, and then it zooms in on the cursor. I can move the cursor, but obviously I really can't do anything since the image it so large. the size of the cursor is about the size of the mouse. I've tried to reboot, restart, shut down and unplugged but I always get the same thing. It appears that a setting has somehow been changed to "extreme zoom". I have a G4 iMac, about 5 years old.

I've recently been researcing complex fractals and happened to come accross this video and thought it would be an awesome addition to the iTunes visualizer. From what I can see on the current visualizer, Julia Sets are being used to render most of the visualizations.Â
Would it be possible to make this happen with the right graphics card and computing power? And how do I get this suggestion presented to the wizards behind the iTunes Program?

This just started happening. Startup my Quad Core 2.66, with 10.6.8 (all SW updates), login, and screen zooms to maximum zoom with giant cursor in the middle. The only easy way get it back down to normal res is to do command+esc to get to Front Row, and then hit esc.

For some reason Safari is only loading the title of some website articles and not the text.
Don't know if its an issue with cookies or what, but it's really frustrating.
1st noticed it about a week ago when trying to load my local newspaper website....booted up FireFox for the 1st time in a long time and it loaded the news stories flawlessly.
The text on some websites comes up scrambled - as attached. What have I done to deserve this!? I don't know where to begin looking.

I am very surprised that I can't locate any information on this via google, yahoo, etc.
The only item I did find is something called "Safari Magic" but it looks pretty old and costs $19.
So here I am hoping to get "truth" from the source (or any kind person). I'm in Snow Leopard; Safari 5.1.5.

I know how to zoom in with the a/A option on Safari, but the zoomed in effect is only temporary. When I leave Safari and return I have to go through this each time.I know that Firefox can be set permanently to a certain text size (let's call it a permanently zoomed in size), but is that possible with Safari? If so,how?
View 6 Replies View Related"Resize at will.
Maybe the text field you're typing in is a bit too small to read. Or maybe you just have a lot to say. Either way, Safari lets you resize text fields on any website, just by grabbing the corner of the field. Resize a field and the web page reflows to make room."

Can anyone actually get this to work? I've never seen a website, Apple's included, that let's you do this feature. Yet it's listed on Apple's webpage.
Not sure if this happened because of the OS X 10.5.6 update, but I can't highlight text in a PDF in Safari and scroll (as in highlight and drag downwards like you would on any other webpage).
View 13 Replies View RelatedI often find myself searching for a piece of text that I wrote myself within a webpage. For example, when writing a long email in gmail, I want to look for a certain word I wrote somewhere in the middle. Firefox dynamically includes all the text that is present on the page (as opposed to just what's in the source of the page) and I'm wondering if there is a way to do that with Safari.
