I know how to zoom in with the a/A option on Safari, but the zoomed in effect is only temporary. When I leave Safari and return I have to go through this each time.I know that Firefox can be set permanently to a certain text size (let's call it a permanently zoomed in size), but is that possible with Safari? If so,how?

[B]Issues:[/B ]Safari has garbled menus/text and so does [URL]
Also the groups on the right in address book are garbled (the text looks out of place/corrupt ). The contacts look fine, it's just a couple group names, not all.
What i've tried: There are no duplicates in my font book. I repaired permissions. I've tried the demo of fontdoctor 7.6 but it says no errors, everything passed.
I'm completely stuck - anyone else have this problem?
I am having trouble seeing the words in the URL headings, or any of the other choices under the URL.I can hardly see the lettering across the top of the apple page. i.e. Safari file edit view history etc etc,How can I make all this larger? I am visually impaired, and I have set up (never use sizes smaller than 14)My URL addresses must be coming in as an 8 or smaller... Command plus enlarges the page, but not the wording at the top.

View 8 Replies View RelatedToday, after using a signature in Apple Mail for the past few months, I discovered that my signature is HUGE when read by non Apple Mail users and that the text in my emails is in Times New Roman even though I set it to Helvectia by default.
Turns out this is a problem in Apple Mail, as setting a default font only affects what YOU see, not what the email recipient sees. This seems backwards to me. My emails have apparently been all unorganized for months now. I've sent out job applications thinking I had a sleek format...
Anyways, researching this, I read nearly every post in this google search, but still don't understand how to fix the problem. Apparently there's one "fix" involving stationary, and another fix where you begin typing right at the beginning of the sig...?
Can anyone tell me how to make my emails that I send from Apple Mail show up for my recipients in Helvectia and have the signature be in the same font size and Helvectia as well ? And no, clicking the "always match my default message font" button didn't do this, just in case.

I want that it looks exactely the same on e.g. a Windows computer on which the used fonts aren't installed. Unfortunately, even the Word exporting fuction of Pages doesn't seem very reliable - or do I do something wrong? I sometimes even lose bold/italic format etc. Very strange ... Anyway, I need a way to send somebody this text either as a Word or PDF file which won't make problems and look the same.

Let's say I load www.google.com, it appears in the safari window as usual.
Suppose I begin to type a search in the google search field at the top right of the safari window (not the one on the google page)
if when doing this the sentence is long for the search, at some point randomly, the rest of the text will be entered this time in the google search text field on the google page! (which is the very next text field) So when I hit enter it makes google search half of my request...
Safari changed the text field I was into with no warning. I want to say I do not press tab at any moment. This is annoying really, and this does not appear anywhere else than in Safari. It seems the issue is not systematic, but appears quite often.
I have no universal access setting except "enable access for assistive device" I had to check this box upon installing a software in the past but I can't remember what it was.Â
I have the dreaded Safari font problem, here's what I've tried:-Removing all suspicious fonts with Font Book and Suitcase Fusion-Removing all fonts with errors (none found though) with Font Book-Running Font Finagler and de-activating fonts-Resetting default encoding on Safari to Western (nothing changed)-Changing the fonts in Safari's preferencesBut no avail, here's the screenshot:

On this very page at macos. I changed the font to 48! And it made absolutely no difference. So, what's the correct way to change the font size in Safari? The release, which underwent private testing this week, will tie in a number of other enhancements, most of which have been under constant development as part of the company's WebKit open source application framework since last fall. The other night I pulled some fonts that I downloaded a few years ago off of my external hard drive and installed them one by one into Font Book to the User profile. Right after I finished this, I noticed that now about 80% of the text on pages in Safari now appeared as the Yahoo font, instead of what they used to be (I visit about 10 different sites on a regular basis, so there's probably a variety of fonts that normally appear, but now most things appear as the Yahoo font). I don't have any style sheet selected in the Safari preferences, and the font preferences are untouched from what they are when Safari is installed. Not only are a lot of sites now hard to read because of the mess that the Yahoo font around size 10 is, but its just flat out annoying to read that crazy font.

Yesterday, I downloaded around 1000 new fonts and installed them, all fine yesterday, but today, Safari, Firefox and Chrome are all using really whacky fonts from those that I downloaded. It happens in google and some webpages, but it's really annoying. I've been through all the preferences, defaults, fontbook (and deleted all the ones with major errors) and I deleted the font that it was using, until it chose another one, trying to fix it but with no luck

For some reason Safari is only loading the title of some website articles and not the text.
Don't know if its an issue with cookies or what, but it's really frustrating.
1st noticed it about a week ago when trying to load my local newspaper website....booted up FireFox for the 1st time in a long time and it loaded the news stories flawlessly.
The text on some websites comes up scrambled - as attached. What have I done to deserve this!? I don't know where to begin looking.
