My mother used my computer to type up a document and now I don't have any of my toolbars showing. Not sure what she did. I know how to get them back but they wont stay. I want them show when I open a new document and not have to go to View--Toolbars--Standard all the time. How can I set the default back so that I have my toolbars in all my documents on Microsoft Word?
Have a PC hooked up to a Pioneer plasma here, and it's basically used to loop trailers in my video-store. The PC is running Windows 2003, and I thought iTunes is probably perfect for this as all the trailers I use are the 720p ones from Apple's servers. So I connect to the PC with VNC (no mouse or keyboard attached), start up iTunes, start the playlist with the videos and they start running fullscreen. But whenever I close the VNC connection the video window disappears from the Pioneer and I just get the desktop + iTunes. The videos are still running though, as the sound is playing and iTunes say they're running, but the video is completely gone.

My iMac, which was new Christmas 2011, has developed a strange fault. If the computer is left idle for any length of time, I then find that there is no sound and the speaker symbol at the top of the screen has disappeared. Sound is only regained by rebooting.
I think this happened just after I did something with my Keychain app: My default mail app - Entourage from MS Office 2004 - remembers my password for entering my mail as long as it's open and active, but when I close it or shut down my machine - I have to feed in my pass each time. It started right after I changed something in my keychain app, but don't really remember what where.
Just wanted to know if the method I used to delete some back ups were save. What I did was just drag two back ups that I didn't need anymore into my trash, held option and clicked delete. I am asking this because I came across this video saying if I used this method, I would be "screwed" [URL]. Is the method I used safe, or did it some how mess up my TM or leave left over data?
what the difference is between the commands 'close window' and 'close all windows'? They seem to me to both have the same effect. In my earlier version of Safari, if I opened a new web page, it just replaced the earlier one, now though the new pages just keep accumulating. T
Apple has shown interest in a new graphical user interface element that would allow devices running either Mac OS X or iOS to consolidate toolbars and menus and cut down on screen clutter. The plans were revealed in a patent application filed last week in Europe, under the name "Scrollable Menus and Toolbars." The document describes a system that would allow users to select an area and then scroll through menu items, giving a greater selection than can be displayed on the screen at one timeThe application notes that toolbars and menus for typical commands, such as opening a file or saving a document, "can take up valuable real estate in the graphical user interface."
Does anyone know how to set the Excel (2008 version) toolbars at top of app to remain as a saved preference? I've tried everything and when I quit Excel and re-open, everything I've changed about the toolbar view is gone and I'm left with nothing. It wasn't like this all along, and somehow I ended up this way.
So I just got a 700mhz 15" iMac g4. I love how it looks, not so much how it runs. I'm running tiger on there right now, and it barely runs word and iChat at the same time. I looked through all the different threads trying to find out different mods and stuff, but I couldn't find anything too easy. Are there any simple ways that I can get this mac performing? The Daystar upgrade costs way too much for me, and I might as well get a new iMac. If anyone knows what to do with a g4.
I'm totally freaking out right now, I have a MBP 17" 2007 model with 2.66 GhZ Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB RAM and GeForce 8600GT graphics. I was working on Adobe Acrobat when it crashed for some reason. I restarted the computer and clicked on "Send to Apple" (error report) but it suddenly hanged on this screen with bars all over my display
