All I see in the appearance prefs is either 'blue' or 'graphite', which as far as I can tell, merely changes the color of the little buttons on the upper right side....and then there just the highlight color. I don't get it....shouldn't there be more options...outside of some kind of third party tinkering tool?

I followed some guide on how to change my dock. It was this one. I got up until this bit.
Go to Macintosh HD > /System/Library/Core Services/
Right-Click on "Dock" and select "Show Package Contents"
Go to /Contents/Resources/
Backup the files you are about to replace (Incase you did not listen, here they are)
Move those same original files to the trash
Then I got stuck. I resetted my Mac and now I have no dock ! How do I get my dock back! I have the back up folder, but where the hell do I put it to get back my dock. On the " Dock " icon I have a little circle with a line init. This is what the contents of my Dock folder looks like .. inside " Contents " I have the " Back Up " folder. As you can see I already put in the contents of the Back Up Folder into the Dock folder but nothing has changed. This is whats in my Dock Back Up Folder.
I cannot see my entire screen. When i move to the bottom i see the dock, but the options at the top disappear. i tried to change the resolution, but this doesn't help.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwell i guess like most people i like to customize my mac. so i was wondering how i could change the color of my menu bar to black and have the text (the apple and the file, edit ect) to white. i have custom icons and docks but this has eluded me. i have tried to change the bar to transparent and have the wallpaper behind it be the color i want but that doesn't help change the color of the text and i doubt its the best solution.

Hello everyone. No I AM NOT looking to mod the apple logo in my menu bar. My question is this: Why does my apple logo change color from time to time? I have seen it Red/Orange, blue, white/grey, and traditional black. Why is it doing this? I have never seen it before. No I haven't changed backgrounds/themes. It isn't all the time, infact I am not sure if it is related to any specific user intervention. I am just curious as to why it may be doing this. I've googled and only founds ways to hack it. NO I am not on hallucinogens. I thought it was related to the Apple Software update, indicating I had new updates, but this was disproven today when it was Red and I checked for updates.
