However recently I've been discovering trying to access my dashboard for on the fly notes and weather, flight and movie listings, however within the past month they start randomly disappearing. I have the 4 default plus stickies plus the flight tracker and the movies one (all built in) and when I try to re add them they show up for a split second and then disappear again.
This is a August 2007 MacBookPro 2.2Ghz 2gig ram 8600 running Tiger 10.4.10. No external display or peripherals other than a mighty mouse and hte power adapter. I have 3 user accounts on the system, The main admin one (which never is used, and is preserved), My Standard non-admin account (having the issue) and a family account for everyone to use and access (Standard, non-admin). It only appears to happen on my account alone.
I don't want my MBP to show up in the shared list when I'm connected to my work network. I've unchecked everything in the shared list in system preferences but it still show up on other computers.

I put "levelwidget" on the dashboard - it is supposed to make a macbook into a Level. Sounded interesting...now I regret! The widget is corrupted and now when I try to open the dashboard it immediately closes and gives me an error message "you can't open the application motion because power pc applications are no longer supported" How do I delete this widget so I can open the dashboard. I've tried to look up the file, but can't seem to find dashboard widget files. Â

I'm totally freaking out right now, I have a MBP 17" 2007 model with 2.66 GhZ Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB RAM and GeForce 8600GT graphics. I was working on Adobe Acrobat when it crashed for some reason. I restarted the computer and clicked on "Send to Apple" (error report) but it suddenly hanged on this screen with bars all over my display
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to system prefs. and go into any submenu, the max/min/close buttons, as well as the search box, heck that entire bar just disappear. Its only when I hover over them do the individual items pop back into display, but the whole bar just doesn't restore itself. Like imagine the top bar on firefox, except its a white strip and the 3 buttons are rectangular blobs sticking out against the white. If that makes sense.

I'm having some issues with my Macbook Pro that just arose today. Randomly, when I'm on Safari, the screen will flash a little and the icons at the bottom will disappear. They will come back in a couple seconds and pop-ups that I usually only get when I first log on will appear. Safari also refreshes the page I was viewing. I did a little research and thought the issue might be google drive, but I do not have it installed on my Mac.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to re-assign the Dashboard key (F4) on my 13" MBP to Expose's "Show Desktop". So far I've been doing this with FunctionFlip, but its not remapping the key reliably anymore. It only works when the Finder is in the foreground; any other applications, pressing F4 brings up Dashboard instead of the desired Expose Show Desktop. Anyone know of other methods to re-assign the Dashboard key? I'm running 10.6.2.

I purchased my first Mac back in september and I must say that I have absolutely loved it. However lately it seem like the dashboard application is really lagging. I hardly ever used dashboard, I am just concerned that this is a sign of worse things to come. Should it be doing this already or should I be concerned? It is a Alu Macbook 2.0.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook Pro (about three years old,) and I'm running OS X (10.4.11)
It has been fantastic and perfect, but in the last few days, mysterious things have begun happening, such as it refusing to shut down, restart, or log out, and my dashboard issue.
More specifically, I had lots of stickies on Dashboard, which contained lots of information that I really really really don't want to lose. Suddenly, (after doing something in disk utility called "repair disk permissions," I noticed that dashboard was completely empty. I can drag all the widgets and star all over again, but what I want is the INFORMATION.
Just today the dock, dashboard, and dragging files made it look like a graphic glitch, it seems it may be the graphic card. I'm posting a pic to see what you guys think.
