If I am scrolling through iphoto, I can see all my pictures, but once I click on most of them, a little triangle with an exclamtion point shows up. I can't see them or send them. Where are my pictures.
Earlier today I copied my iPhoto library file and the iPhoto prefs file to from my Mac Pro to my MacBook (using Chronosync's "mirror" option), for a week away from home.
I've now come to using iPhoto on my MacBook, and noticed that the thumbnails for my modified pictures had reverted to thumbnails of the originals. Clicking on any of these modified images just brings up a large exclamation mark on a grey circle background.
I know that this normally means that iPhoto cannot find the relevant file in the library (usually because someone's been messing around in the library - which I haven't; I took a mirror image), but the odd thing is if I click on "Edit", the image I'm then presented with is the modified image, so it's still there and iPhoto damn well knows it.
I've tried opening iPhoto with alt-opt to get it to rebuild everything, but it hasn't made any difference.
I have a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on my event. I was working on it and noticed it when I restarted FCP X. Could be that FCP X was crashing while copying or something. But now I don't get it away. But I looked into it.Â
The 4 photo's and 1 piece of music were quickly found in the menu left of the timeline. But there are two strange stings going on:Â
1. Scrubbing through the timeline, at certain points the Beach-ball begins to spin and won't stop. I waited 30 minutes (nothing), restart FCP X (nothing), rebooted (nothing), cleaned with Onyx (nothing): I had to force quit FCP X. I cannot see where it goes wrong, but it's at multiple points.Â
2. While using "relink files" all went wrong. It found photo's with te same name (but in fact other pictures). I deleted those. I went in the library (within Finder) to the Original Files folder, replaced the aliasses of the files pointing to a _Trash folder within the library. I thought the right pictures were back: no. I've dragged those back from iPhoto into the event, with the music also (from iTunes). There double now, but everything is good... except for the exclamation-mark!
Then I made a new library, dragged the project to the new library: copy used clips except the two options given (proxy en render files?). The new event also got a exclamation mark. I played the whole thing: no crashes, no beach-balls, no red missing clips signs, no yellow exclamation-mark in the Timeline Index.
In the original project I can now scrub little pieces (without spinning beach-balls) and I see the pictures on the timeline (in the preview) but with a yellow exclamation-mark in the index...? It cannot be found in the eventbrowser... how strange is that?Â
Since the update to Final Cut Pro X 10.1.3 I cannot go back to a previous library. What do I do. I'm afraid if I continue to edit things will go south later on.

I own a PowerMac G5 currently running Tiger. I tried to install Leopard the other night and when I was promted to choose the hard drive to install....I saw a red exclamation point over it.
I know I can backup my entire drive and install on a clean drive but is there any way around doing that? Can I go to utilities and try to repair somehow?
Also, I do have a second hard drive on the computer..
My Mail application and all associated mailboxes have the dreaded triangle sign with the exclamation point in it. I can't send or receive mail in any of the mailboxes although AOL works through the AOL website. It happened while I was sending an EPS file to someone. They received it but I'm dead in the water since then. Any help available? I checked all my setting snad they appear to be right on.
I have imported photos from my digital camera to my iPhoto and when I try to view them, I just see a gray box with an exclamation point? How can I fix this so my photos will show up? It has always worked correctly in the past.
im trying to print out notes for college and i can either download them as pdf or power point files. i need to print them out with 6-8 thumbnails per piece of paper via thumbnails but i cant figure it out. how do i do this on a mac?
I am getting a pop up error message with a yellow triangle and yellow exclamation point in Safari but it immediately disappears after it appears. This happens so fast that I cannot read the error message. A java applet for my bank's website is not running properly and knowing what the error message is might help solve the problem.

Thought I'd start this thread for people to discover/add any info they have on what iPhoto Faces is doing behind the scenes to help with troubleshooting, since Apple doesn't have any preferences for Faces in the iPhoto GUI. This is only for people who like to understand what is happening behind the scenes. Please note this is not for everyone and anytime you do anything to your iPhoto library you risk corruption and should have a backup copy. What I've noticed so far:
- iPhoto scans the library the first time it opens, and creates 2 faces .db files with the iPhoto Library:
face_blob.db face.db
- iPhoto creates Faces thumbnails files and places them in the iPhoto Library/Data folder along with the other thumbnails it creates................
I just opened iPhoto and found that when I click on an "Album" (menu to the left), it just opens up with full size images. It used to display thumbnails and I'd need to click on the image to open it into full size. Is there some option that I inadvertently adjusted to cause this change?
My photos are stored on an external hard drive, and we recently uploaded a new batch of photos. All of a sudden, we can only see those new photos. The iPhoto Library says it's 24GB so I know the other photos are still there.
So once again my mac has crashed after being backed up by Time Machine. After restoring the system I have lost pictures from iPhoto. This isn't the first time I have had this problem and I usually have two back up copies of the pictures, however I have managed to lose some pictures that I need :-(Â
If I go onto Time Machine the iPhoto Events are black with black photos. fantastic MacBook Pro15-inch, Mid 2010Processor 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MBSoftware Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)

Wanted to know if it was possible to save pictures in iPhoto to an external HD. Same question when using GarageBand/Logic. Is there a way to save the projects in the Ext HD so that they dont save on the MBP? Do I just drag em to the ext HD? I have a Seagate 320GB that I wanna use on my 17" MBP i5, 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM.
i have a problem, iphoto won't stop importing photos in iphoto. It has been importing for 2 weeks now and i doesen't finish. That means i can't shut my macbook down, so is running out of electrsity constantly... ive tried to hit the "stop import" button, ive tried to shut the pogram from the procesline..
I've tried to copy pictures from iPhoto to a flash drive by drag and drop, but the cursor showed, that it simply can't be dropped. What am I supposed to do now?
How do I export pictures from Mac Book Air to a Hitachi external hard drive. I have used the export function from i-photo but it will not transfer. However, when I use the export function to put the pictures onto a 4g usb stick it works?
My iPhoto (called Photos) resides in the Media section of the finder window unlike the Pictures folder which is grouped in the Favorites section. The media section does not show up in the regular finder window. It shows up only when trying to attach a file. I've tried to drag and drop the Photos folder to drop inside the Pictures folder but it won't.Â
I'm hoping to reorganize my iPhoto library to an external drive and am having difficulity making sure I'm finding the correct files, etc.
