OS X :: Some Movie Thumbnails Not Showing
Jul 27, 2010I have my iTunes music etc. stored on my MBP, but movies are on an external HDD connected via Airport disk. When importing movies, I untick "Copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to library" and drag and drop them in - that way the location points to my external drive. However, I imported a number of movies yesterday (in the same way I always have done) and whenever I open iTunes, the artwork of the newest movies is missing and an exclamation mark is next to them. But when I click on it, the exclamation mark goes, the artwork reappears and the movie plays. Quit and reopen iTunes and it's vanished again.

Jun 1, 2009I have about 2,000 still frames, all PNG files, that I wish to compile into a movie. They are a bit of a weird size (1049x870px) so iStopMotion doesn't work.
iMovie 8 is beyond useless for this since it downsizes them, works in a different frame rate (25fps as opposed to the 15fps that I need the final movie in), there seems to be no clear way to set the number of frames each still should last (unlike in iMovie 5), and above all, it cannot seem to import them in the correct order, and I don't have the time to manually import 2,400 files in order.

Sep 21, 2008I saw a couple of other threads talking about this and thought we should have a thread where you can show off and share your own custom made Genre thumbnails. In case your not sure how to do it this is a good guide: [URL]. Basically you need to create a jpeg, put it in the right folder (iTunes>Contents>Resources) with the correct name and then adjust a tiny bit of information in the genre plist.
Its very simple and people who have no experience with this kind of stuff will be able to do it easily. Also if (like me) you are annoyed at the fact that some genres are missing you can add your own in the exact same way as in he link posted. Note in mine that Action & Adventure are now two separate genres and i've added Gangster, Kung Fu, Comic & Anime. Mine are all supposed to be the best films of that genre (ok maybe not Transformers ). Pic link now added, download!

Jun 14, 2009When in Cover Flow view in Finder, try renaming a file when the thumbnails are being generated. It'll highlight the file name, then unselect it. Only way to successfully rename something is to wait till all the thumbnails are generated.

Access to these is really slow because it seems to want to create thumbnails every time I access that folder. Jan 7, 2010I want to create a full screen slideshow of my pictures (from the finder). Coverflow won't do full screen, and Quick Look doesn't work well. If I go full screen I can't skip to the next picture. I can highlight multiple pictures then open Quick Look to be able to scroll to scroll through them, but it's long and tedious. Say I want to just make a slideshow from a folder of pictures without having to highlight everything and open Quick Look, is there a quick way to do this?
I thought of using Front Row (I had never tried it before), but it's telling me Pictures (0) when I have lots of folders and pictures in my home folder. Does Front Row only use pictures imported in iPhoto (which I don't use?) In Front Row, when I click on "Sources", it brings me to "Alex's MacBook" (the name of my computer) but I can't go anywhere from there or even change it, if I click it goes back to the menu.

Mar 3, 2012I made a smart folder in Finder, and I can't seem to figure out what some of the pictures are. I have microsoft word installed on my computer and it looks like there are thousandsof pictures devoted to their graphics, animations, etc... Also, there are compltely random pictures that I have never seen before like a box, clock, pencil, etc... Last, I delete these every day, but the face pictures...turning them off? Can I delete those pictures to free up space?

I've searched "all my files" for a My Pictures folder and nothing has come up, not even in the trash (that I haven't yet emptied). I am wondering if there is anyway of getting this folder back, as I had several pictures and folders organized within that My Pictures folder. All of my pictures are somewhere still on my computer but even they are hard to locate now without them being in any folder. Would be difficult to have to re-organize every single thing that was in that folder.

Mac Pro :: Can't Get 60 Frames Per Second - World Of Warcraft (WoW)
Feb 18, 2008I am new to macs, wanted the best they could offer before i became assimilated into the mac world so i waited for the new Mac Pro. Just got it and the only game i am playing is World of Warcraft. I have the 8800GT video card and 4gb of ram, the rest is as they ship it in their "standard version" of the new Mac Pro's.
I can't get over 60 frames per second with the settings maxed out. Even when i take the Multisampling to 24-Bit Color 24-bit depth 1X Multisample.
Everything is maxed out, everything. I know when i have the multisampling turned up to 4x i should be able to get over 60fps when i am like, looking at the sky or something, but i cant get it over 60fps. What do i need to do? I have read on some Blizzard forums about typing in commands like "/console GLFaster 0/1/2" but none of that is changing anything. I am running 10.5.2 of Leopard.
