Feb 16, 2012Just downloaded it right now and it's excellent! However, I notice a possible flaw in which whenever I receive a message from someone, it will notify me on both my Mac AND my iPhone! As you might imagine, it's pretty annoying given iMessages are flying through on my Mac. I was wondering if anyone knows how to stop iPhone notifications when messaging on Mac. I hope this feature will be added in ASAP from Apple if it doesn't exist yet!

Sep 11, 2014When I try to use iMessage on my MacBook, I cannot message anyone. I get the error message that "(phone number) is not registered with iMessage." I can iMessage the same person using my phone, but for some reason it will not work on my computer.
I have already tried the logout/re-login fix, and cleared my message folder. Phone and computer are signed into the same account & phone number.

Jun 24, 2014some of my friends imessage doesn't work unless they are using wifi. everyone always says hold the message like you are going to copy it then click send as text message but when I hold the message it only says copy and more. how do I get it to send as a text message without shutting my imessage off and without holding the message and clicking send as text message?

Dec 1, 2014My problem is related to the iMessage app on my iPhone 5 and MBP Retina. I have not been able to find a suitable answer to this problem in the Apple discussions, however there are discussions relating to syncing of messages, or the lack thereof, but that's not my problem. My problem has to do with deleting messages from one device and then those message being deleted on the other device.
Both devices, iPhone 5 and 15" MBP Retina are up to date (iOS 8.1.1 and OS X Yosemite 10.10.1).
I can send and receive iMessage and SMS texts from both my iPhone as well as the Mac. The synchronization works beautifully!
My problem is this. When I delete a conversation from the message app on the MBP it DOES NOT get deleted on the iPhone iMessage app. Likewise a conversation that is deleted from the iPhone DOES NOT get deleted from the MBP message app. I have tested this by sending a message to myself, which showed up on both devices. I could converse all day long with myself (bad habit!) from both the iPhone and MBP, but when the message was deleted from one device it did not get deleted from the other device. Very annoying!
As an additional issue, under Settings>Messages>Text Message Forwarding my MBP appears twice and only one can be turned on at a time. How can I delete the other device? I can't find where that is set up.

Mar 4, 2009I like Safari's U.I. very much, but, everytime I load around 5 pages at the same time it starts to freeze and give me the rainbow circle on the mouse pointer. If I open the same sites with Camino everything works great and even faster than Safari.
I do not want to quite switch to Camino, because its UI is ugly, but its really superior to Safari on speed terms and has the same compatibility as Firefox, because its Gecko engine (?).
I will miss Top Sites and Safari's UI so much

Currently when I delete the message in Mail, the server still keep a copy of it, which means it is not deleted on the server. I know that POP can do this but I still want the option of being able to access it from other computers.
My server has only a small size, so I hope that I can just delete it from my Mail instead of having to log in to the server and delete it again.

Apr 17, 2012I have on tow differnt Mac' both running 10.8.6 and Office 2011.I get a message and I delete it from the inbox (POP accounts with my ISP, on my own domain), and next from the deleted items folder. so far so good, message (should be) gone forever. Now if I do a search (via the Mac find function) for the message it shows up as being in:/Users/e/ Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities/Name of User/Data Records/Messages/ 0T/0B/0M/13K/x00_13558.olk14Message. The last item being the message.I can open it by double clicking and there it is in its full glory. If I do a search within Outlook it shows up but has no folder located to it, so I suppose it 'finds' it in the same folder where the Mac finds it.Using the find inside Outlook I can find them, delete them again and find them again, etc. Now, not only does this bloat the storage space needed (account now bloated to 1.5 Megabite), but it is also unpleasant (security) to know that they are still there.After all why otherwise delete anything?is this normal, and the second question is, how to set Outlook up that it removes these messages permanently? I had a thread about this in the MS Outlook forum but had no luck there.url...it be interesting to hear if any of you can recreate the problem, to exclude it being a unique problem on both my machines.

May 17, 2012Usually when I turn my computer on or open it back up & log in, iMessage will automatically log me in and show my buddy list. For some reason, sometimes it won't & whatever I try to do (like change my status from offline to available) will not work. I have tried restarting iMessage multiple times & still it won't work.
