MacBook Pro :: Screen Will Flash A Little And Icons At Bottom Will Disappear On Safari

I'm having some issues with my Macbook Pro that just arose today. Randomly, when I'm on Safari, the screen will flash a little and the icons at the bottom will disappear. They will come back in a couple seconds and pop-ups that I usually only get when I first log on will appear. Safari also refreshes the page I was viewing. I did a little research and thought the issue might be google drive, but I do not have it installed on my Mac.

I tried the two responses that said to delete some plugins to get Safari to let PDFs go to Finder so they could be downloaded. Didn't work for me. I'm guessing I accidentally changed something in Safari (Security?) that prevents the switchover; I don't get the four icons at the bottom of the screen for certain documents (Including the one inviting a download PDF to Finder), while it works for others. So I have to request paper copies of some forms to be snailmailed to me, rather than emailed.

A few times a day the top and bottom of my screen flash black quickly - not even a full second. what it could be, or if I can figure what it is? I ran the Apple Care TechT tool and nothing came up wrong - I have the 2.4Ghz 15" (unibody)

My mouse pointer disappears when still, if I open a webpage or app store the page drops to the bottom and I cant get back to the top with the mouse. I have tried six different mice (blue tooth and wireless including mac magic mouse) , all the same. Also when the sound is on and the system starts up there is a low buzzing sound until I move the mouse or open something up. Should I just restart the whole os as this is only one week old and I am over it already!

I have a MacBook running Snow Leopard that quite some time ago, in an effort to save memory, I used a Terminal command that made the icons clear from the dock as soon as the application was quit.

I Fired up my computer this morning and the icons disappeared, also the applications folder. I rebooted. Same thing. Rebooted again. random icons appear, never the app folder. Rebooted. The trash can icon is broken apart and scattered along the dock. No other icons. What should I do?

Some of my desktop icons "disappear" intermittently ( not always the same icon(s)). still appears but the icon is blank. I can still click on the blank spot and the app will launch.
Oh and my personal "Avatar" photo also reverts to an earlier choice ( intermittently ) as well. Can change it to the one I want to use but it reverts back to the old picture also from time to time ...

after updating to 10.7.4, the network and clock icons that were showing on my menu bar have disappeared. I cannot get them to reappear by checkin ght e show in menu bar option in sys prefs.

Ever since I upgraded to flash player "square" I am unable to view flash videos through safari in full screen. When I press the button to initiate full screen my screen turns black and I need to press the esc key to get back to the desktop.

I tried to use some software to test the display. I found when the screen goes to completely dark with the backlight on, the bottom side of my screen is brighter than other parts.... have u guys met any problem like that, or is this some problem with my MBA?

My Air's screen is slightly darker at the bottom (only on a few millimeters, but still). It only happens on a white/light background though (I don't have my dock at the bottom). In comparison, the screen of my MacBook has a very uniform backlight. Does anybody else have this issue?

Is it just me or the macbook air has a problem with backlight? it's very very bright compare to my mbp 13.3 but it seems like the left part of the screen receive a lot more light than the bottom right of the screen. I notice that on the mbp pro but its worse on the mba. I have a rev2 1.86 with a 9400. In this review (in spanish) they check the brightness levels on the screen, and there is a difference between center and bottom right corner (340cd/m2 vs 215cd/m2)

i have a macbook pro 15' late 2011 and it stopped booting. The apple disappear and the. It get stuck in a gray screen.I saw on the web that it would be possible to apply a software fix, disabling the video card. IN my country a new macbook is about 3.000 usd, so buying a new one is not an option for me.Â

My dock and menu disappear only when I am using Safari. They re-appear when I hover my mouse at the location that they should be at, but for some reason their default positions are to be hidden.The dock and menu are present for all other apps and when I'm on the desktop--basically whenever Safari isn't "chosen" as the active window. I have checked to make sure that Safari is NOT in Full Screen mode.

About a week ago after shutting down the night before and restarting the next morning I noticed about 100 of my bookmarks (saved over the years) had vanished from Safari (5.1.7) / OS X Lion. I replaced bookmarks.plist from Time Machine which brought them back but they disappear again once I add any new bookmark. I've emptied cache, reset Safari and no joy. The added trouble now is I have to keep adding bookmarks every day so now I need to preserve the new ones but still get the old ones back.

I'm trying to read news sites and my eye is distracted by things bouncing around in adverts. It's even worse when they're playing obnoxious sounds until you click the mute button in them.Therefore I just thought I'd let people know about this wonderful piece of software. If I view a pure white image it looks like maybe 1/4" has a slight gradient. The darkness in the right corner is a little more prominent and extends maybe 1/2" Anyone else seeing this on their 11"?

I purchased the 2.26 13" MBP (4GB RAM) yesterday afternoon. When I came home, I set it up and started to notice a couple of streaks (.5" thick) on the right side and half of the bottom of the screen. I have a 9C9E screen and have it tested it on the Earth (centered) wallpaper with full brightness. It tends to go away after 40% brightness.

I did a search and could only find information about the last rendition of mbps, and I see they had problems with bleeding along the bottom part of the screen. I just got my umbp a week ago, but I've been so busy finding a place to live for grad school that I haven't had the chance to use it. I looked at it in the dark yesterday, and I'm super anal. I saw a small amount of backlight bleeding on the bottom left corner of the screen, perhaps half an inch on the left side of the screen, just in one area (not along the entire left side).I wish I could take a picture, but my digital camera is nowhere to be found. Is a small amount of backlight bleeding acceptable, or should I exchange for a new umbp?

I just bought my white MacBook and its a great computer except for the 2 dead pixels that i found. On the left side there are 2-3 dead pixels about 1 inch from the bottom of the screen and 1 inch from the top.
I bought it from BestBuy this Sunday and only discovered the problem today. So my question is can they tell me that it is OK for an LCD to have 2-3 dead pixels and refuse to do anything with it? It is unacceptable in my opinion, as the LCD technologies have been out for a while, as well as Apple's products are usually of very high quality.

I have a MacBook Pro mid 2010 os x 10.7.5 8 gigs memory. When I am on a website, the dock is hidden on the bottom of the screen. Cannot get it to come up. I also cannot x out of a website, because the x is gone! I have to restart the computer to be able to get to a new screen. I have checked the settings on the dock, and I have them right.Â

I restarting my computer after it crashed and now the book marks bar that appears above tabs has vanished? I've gone into preferences and made sure all the approperiate boxes are ticked and they are. Niether my top sites and reading list icons are there either?It's also doing funny things like a email wont open if I double click on it plus I'm sure I'll find more strange happenings as I go along.Is there a way you can set it back to the defuals like doing a system restore in windows?

After a clean OS X install (Snow Lpd updated to Lion) and all system updates, I have imported my old bookmarks (html created by Safari just couple of days back). After import they appear on the left panel as Imported xx.xx.2012.After relaunching Safari 5.1.7, the folder is gone. More than that, Safari won't retain any webpage bookmarked, they would all disappear when I quit (or relaunch) Safari.I have trashed the com.apple. Safari. plist file a few time already and emptied the trash, repaired disk permissions, but problem persists.
