F4 is no longer a link to Dashboard. I would like to add an icon to the dock to take me to Dashboard. I would prefer this to using Spotlight. How?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've poured over these boards in hopes to finding a solution as to why my dashboard won't open. It literally stopped working mid day, one day when I went to return to get a number off of my sticky note in my dashboard. I have tried posting the different lists from my preferences page, however, am unable to get the docments to actually drag to my desktop. I'm not sure if there are any other solutions, but was hoping to find a quick fix as opposed to traveling 2 hours to the nearest genius bar. Any help would be awesome!!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using CandyBar to change the icons, and the Dashboard icon is changed under both System and Applications. In Finder it looks like the one I want to change it to, but when I move it into the Dock it just looks like the default icon. The same thing happens with the Finder icon. Any ideas? Oh and to change the iCal icon, is there any way to change the way the icon looks when you have iCal running? It just looks weird to have it look one way when it's closed and change back to the default when it's open.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI had a MacKeeper icon pop up on my dashboard and my screen tell me I needed to get this to clean up my Mac Pro and protect it from viruses. It looked legit because I wondered how it got onto my dashboard. I installed it but when I moved through the steps it then listed a price which I thought was suspicious. When I googled it many responses said it was a fraud. What can any of you in the community tell me about MacKeeper. If it's a fraud, how do I uninstall it. I tried dropping it in the trash, but it popped out.

I'm having a strange problem with my dock and dashboard, whenever I add Items to either they quickly vanish, not allowing me to change them. With the dock, I can't add Flash CS4 to the dock, it will just appear, then disappear. With the dashboard, I can't add any widgets I've downloaded without the dashboard closing to desktop. I've tried reinstalling the widgets, no luck. Has anyone had this problem before, or know how to fix it?

It is not something on the desktop as I have moved the dock and can't see it, so it is definitely connected with the Application icon. I have deleted all downloads which could have been half done and I have removed an Alias I had in the Application folder. Now all the Applications appears as "Applications" in the "Kind" column when viewing in Finder.

I am on a MacBook Pro and am encountering problems after the last Java upgrade on Lion. My dock will not appear when I rollover - so I have set it to show all of the time. I clicked on my widget icon to use the calculator, and nothing loaded. I was stuck on the screen and had to hard restart.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI put "levelwidget" on the dashboard - it is supposed to make a macbook into a Level. Sounded interesting...now I regret! The widget is corrupted and now when I try to open the dashboard it immediately closes and gives me an error message "you can't open the application motion because power pc applications are no longer supported" How do I delete this widget so I can open the dashboard. I've tried to look up the file, but can't seem to find dashboard widget files.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently replaced my white MacBook (OS X 10.5) with a new MacBook.
In the old dock:
I had created a folder within the HD called "launcher"--so it would appear at the top of the list. I created a custom icon for the folder, created an alias on the desktop. I then put the alias in the dock. When I would click on the folder it would open like stacks.
New dock:
If I do the above process, the folder opens as a finder window--no more stacks. If I pull the folder directly to the dock, without creating the alias, the folder opens as a stack, but the icon is gone and replaced with the generic folder icon.
Is there a way to have a custom icon and have the stack/folder open as stacks? I don't like the option of putting a image file as the first item in the folder because then the "icon" that appears is smaller and in front of the folder I hate.
I just bought a new MacBook with SL installed. I have tried to search these forums for the past 10 minutes to find an answer. How do I remove the safari icon on the dock. It wont lemme trash it or put elsewhere but dock. I use firefox. Don't want the safari icon!
