Dec 10, 2014How can I get the icon back because I can not use the outlook anymore. Where do I go to reestablish it in the dock?

MacBook Pro :: Outlook Icon On Dock Missing After Hibernation Mode
Mar 27, 2012I have a macbook pro. I was recently overseas when I closed my lid the mac went into hibernation and everything was fine. So I came back home and when I opened my mac my outlook icon on my dock was missing. So was my mails went missing. When I opened the application. It started over again. All my mail has gone. So I used timeline and had backed up every thing. However still don't explain has to why the my outlook had disappeared.

OS X :: Excel Files Disappear From Dock?
Aug 26, 2009I have five different excel files on the dock (they appear below the line, along with the trash icon). When I click on them a question mark appears on top of the excel symbol, and "help" says this means they have been deleted. None of them were saved anywhere but on the dock. But I have not opened three of them for weeks, and cannot find any of them with "finder". I always save when prompted before closing the Excel application, and would never knowingly delete them, as they represent hundreds of hours of work.
I'm on a Mac mini, with OS X 10.4.11

Mar 31, 2012My dock and menu disappear only when I am using Safari. They re-appear when I hover my mouse at the location that they should be at, but for some reason their default positions are to be hidden.The dock and menu are present for all other apps and when I'm on the desktop--basically whenever Safari isn't "chosen" as the active window. I have checked to make sure that Safari is NOT in Full Screen mode.

OS X :: Spaces Icon Will Not Disappear
Mar 10, 2010Another random issue I have been having is that every now and then is with spaces. When navigating between spaces, the 4 window icon comes in the middle of the screen to indicate which space I am in, however occasionally this does not disappear, so I am stuck with the spaces icon in the middle of the screen. This is annoying especially when watching something, any idea why this maybe happening? How can I stop it?

Dec 28, 2010I was using candybar to edit some icons. Then while it was restarting the dock the application, i think, crashed. After that my dock was no more I have tried making another login but still the dock is missing I dont believe that anything got deleted idk. Also I opened candybar again and I pressed the button to make it restore all the changes is made. It completed the restore but my dock was still missing.

Jun 5, 2012This just recently started to happen. Safari and Mail disappear everytime I quit the applications and I have to relaunch from launchpad. I have the checked the option "keep in the Dock".

Feb 5, 20091. Whenever I try to open files on my Mac such as Firefox and Windows Messenger for Mac, they appear on the Dock for 2 seconds, bouncing up and down like if you open a program, then disappear off the Dock and nothing happens. How can I open these programs?
2. I'm trying to install Yahoo Messenger as an alternative, but whenever I try to install it it says Error-95 No-Mountable-Systems. What does this mean and how do I stop it?
OS X :: Dock Items Disappear When Drag And Drop Desired Application
Oct 5, 2009Has anybody had any experience with Dock items disappearing? I simply drag and drop the desired application I was to remain in the Dock, and within 10 seconds it just disappears from the Dock! I haven't un-installed the application. I did have Dock items selected to Sync in MobileMe, but I disabled that as a test. I've also tried right-clicking the application while it's open, and selecting the 'Keep in Dock' option, but same result. After about 10 seconds of closing the app, it disappears from the Dock. I've run Repair Disk Permissions, no effect. I found a similar thread on this forum, but it suggested basically wiping the Mac and starting again, which I don't really find as a solution!

Aug 31, 2014I have this icon behind the Application icon on the dock and I cannot figure out what it is. It is not something on the desktop as I have moved the dock and can't see it, so it is definitely connected with the Application icon. I have deleted all downloads which could have been half done and I have removed an Alias I had in the Application folder. Now all the Applications appears as "Applications" in the "Kind" column when viewing in Finder.

Oct 16, 2010I'm using Outlook 2011 and decided to change its dock icon. Everything works great, but each time when I receive an e-mail and thus the dock email notification appears, the icon will switch back to the original Outlook icon. Only after I've checked my e-mail will the icon switch back to my custom icon again.
Is there a way to retain my custom icon even upon receiving the e-mail notification on the dock icon?

Mar 25, 2009I recently replaced my white MacBook (OS X 10.5) with a new MacBook.
In the old dock:
I had created a folder within the HD called "launcher"--so it would appear at the top of the list. I created a custom icon for the folder, created an alias on the desktop. I then put the alias in the dock. When I would click on the folder it would open like stacks.
New dock:
If I do the above process, the folder opens as a finder window--no more stacks. If I pull the folder directly to the dock, without creating the alias, the folder opens as a stack, but the icon is gone and replaced with the generic folder icon.
Is there a way to have a custom icon and have the stack/folder open as stacks? I don't like the option of putting a image file as the first item in the folder because then the "icon" that appears is smaller and in front of the folder I hate.
