I recently imported a set of 14 photos and 1 video into iphoto. I got them all into the album i wanted except for 1 video. This single video can be imported to any other folder other than the one i want it to be.

I have my macbook sold and now trying to import my iphoto album (1 20gb file)into windows. Picasa web is the best out for windows by far so i will be using this. i am curious if there is a way to keep all my events in order, as they were on my mac and import them into Picasa. heck if there is a way to export all the events into folders on my pc at all. then deal with Picasa after that.
I dragged all my files to an external drive before I got rid of the macbook, but when I open the IPhoto library within windows using MacDrive, it gives me all these weird folders. I see the pics in there. But I have 8gb in 1 folder, 800mb in another and a few scattered around. labeled 2008, 2009, 2010, etc. but nothing is feeling right about it and don't think it will copy everything over..
Every single photos has the name of the image on the facebook photo description, for example: IMG00982.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI realize that some movie formats on older digital cameras do not coincide with older versions of IPhoto. I have the original Iphoto/IMovie on my PowerBook G4 and neither will recognize the Canon Powershot S50 digital camera on the desktop--yet it shows up on IPhoto. I am still able to import all photos.
But what I am wondering is if there is a way that I can import video to the HD some other way? I cannot find the camera using finder despite having a USB connection. All I would like to do is download the small videos that I have on the camera's disk.
When I import video from my Creative's Vado HD Pocket Video camcorder on a month old MacBook Pro the video files in each event are black. They have no image. When I click on them I can see the video but I would prefer to see an image which makes identifying each video much easier.
Is there anything I can do so that I can see an image?
When I select any song from this one, specific album in my library, iTunes will hesitate for a second, and the Quicktime-esque player window will automatically appear too. This happens only with this one album, and it's very frustrating. I will attach a screenshot of the problem. And also, if I go to close this player window, the song stops.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to Snow Leopard, I can no longer import P2 footage. I get the stop sign and error: no data.In the import window I can play the clip and everything is fine, but when I add to the clip to the import queue it just times out.
Any thoughts? Is it somehow related to Quicktime being updated by Snow Leopard?

With PCs, I was used to importing pictures to my hard drive and then viewing and editing them with whatever software applications I wanted. With my Mac, I notice that when I insert my SD card, iPhoto starts and asks me to import, which I agree. Unfortunately, it imports the images to an iPhoto folder that I can't easily access from another program, such as PhotoshopElements. I have read how to use Finder to navigate to these imported images in the iPhoto library ("Show Package Content") and then I copy the folder of images and paste it to a folder in my "Pictures" directory in Finder.
I find this tedious and also redundant as I now I understand I basically have two copies of every image, one for iPhoto Library and the other for accessing via other programs, such as Photoshop. Is there anyway I can simply import images straight to a folder on my hard drive? Also, if I do choose to access these images via iPhoto, am I correct in assuming iPhoto will automatically create a duplicate folder, just for accessing in the iPhoto library? If so, isn't this a waste of hard drive space? Can this be avoided?
I'm new with iMovie and this is all pretty damn confusing. I have a bunch of short nothing videos in my "iPhoto videos" area. but I can't seem to get to my newly added videos in iPhoto. I play them in iPhoto all the time, they're grouped by event and such but I can't for the life of me get them into the area.

Since I never had a photo storage program on my PC, all my photos were kept in folders on my hard drive. When I got my Mac, all my photos were imported into iPhoto and now I simply use iPhoto for everything I upload. My question is, can I delete the old photos (now imported into iPhoto but still on my hard drive in seperate folders) from my hard drive to save space without deleting them from iPhoto? I checked my settings and I do have the "copy to iPhoto library" option checked but I don't know if that makes a difference. Any information would be helpful - it would be nice if I knew I could delete photos that are essentially duplicates to save space on my hard drive.

The odd thing is the photo albums are on my iPad and iPhone with all of the photos. I have tried signing out of iCloud and that did nothing.

Have just finished movie on MacAir with material from camcorder's hard drive. No problem in transferring material from the brand new camera. I have older digital material recorded on tape cassettes by Sony videocam which I would like to re-work with iMovie11. The iMovi11 manual says transfer to the Air requires a FireWire connection. I still have the older digital camera and the cables that came with it but neither the Air nor my Toshiba laptop have FireWire ports. Any thoughts on how to effect a transfer?

When I import a video from my camera to iMovie it lags bad. I have a black MacBook with a 2.4 core 2 duo and 4gb of ram. I know it is not the file on the cam. I am also running iMovie 08. The video I am trying to improt is from a GoPro hero 2 in 1080p. Is that to much for my old Mac? OS 10.7.3

I did the transition to iPhoto 11 after the update was issued and the only problem I've noticed so far is with Faces. Before, I had a smart album that showed me all the unnamed faces. I know prior to upgrading, I had tagged and removed all the faces, so that album should have been empty. Well, it detects about 20 photos and I went through them all and they had tagged faces. No problem I said, probably a bad Smart Album data.
I deleted the smart album, made a new one and the same issue. In a photo that has 2 people in it, it days the 2 peoples names and then suddenly 7 untagged faces. Again no problem but I don't see where these faces are so I can uncheck them. I even tried removing the tags from the current people and then trying it again (and sometimes, it piles up faces on top of each other) but no go. Anybody else having issues with faces?
I have several folders that have albums in them. When I click on a specific folder/album, "mushrooms", I receive the spinning rainbow wheel and then Iphoto crashes. This only occurs with this folder/album. All the other folders/albums work fine.
