I have several folders that have albums in them. When I click on a specific folder/album, "mushrooms", I receive the spinning rainbow wheel and then Iphoto crashes. This only occurs with this folder/album. All the other folders/albums work fine.

I would like to go from looking at the Library and all the albums together to going to just a single album. I used to be able to do this by changing the behavior of the arrows next to the song information for Album to direct to the album in the Library instead of the iTunes store.
However, in iTunes 10, it appears that the arrow links are removed permanently. Is this true? If so, is there a simple way to go from a highlighted song in a playlist or the Library directly to the song's album like you used to be able to, without using the genre/composer/artist/album browser (I have too many albums for that to be efficient, and this is one instance in which I think search is not the right solution).
I just imported some photos into IPhoto 09 and shortly afterwards my IMac did a hard shut down. Now when I open IPhoto I get the following error:
The Photo Library nees to be upgraded to work with this version of IPhoto.
After that I click on upgrade and get the following msg:
Can't open current photo library using this version of Iphoto.
I'm creating a web site using iWeb '09 at the moment, and there are a few things I'm having trouble with:
1) Is there a way to set the key photos of photo albums? At the moment, it shows the first photo in the album. I'm using albums from my MobileMe gallery.
2) Is there a way to put search boxes on all pages, and not just the blog ones? I'd like to be able to put one on, eg, the 'About' page or the 'Photos' page, so that people can search the site/blog from any page.
3) I can't figure out how to set an iPhone web clip icon - how do you do this?
I did the transition to iPhoto 11 after the update was issued and the only problem I've noticed so far is with Faces. Before, I had a smart album that showed me all the unnamed faces. I know prior to upgrading, I had tagged and removed all the faces, so that album should have been empty. Well, it detects about 20 photos and I went through them all and they had tagged faces. No problem I said, probably a bad Smart Album data.
I deleted the smart album, made a new one and the same issue. In a photo that has 2 people in it, it days the 2 peoples names and then suddenly 7 untagged faces. Again no problem but I don't see where these faces are so I can uncheck them. I even tried removing the tags from the current people and then trying it again (and sometimes, it piles up faces on top of each other) but no go. Anybody else having issues with faces?
Every single photos has the name of the image on the facebook photo description, for example: IMG00982.

The quality is very good - I got the hardbound 20-page book with black pages and it looks awesome. My only complaint id that they are currently having problems accepting books with Type 1 post script fonts.Had the book in three days after ordering it right through iPhoto.
I need to figure out how to add text to a photo book project in iphoto. I want to send this as a gift to my father... I chose my initial layout, added pages (in a particular order of photos on a time line) and there isnt alot of text in the layout i chose.
I would love to add text to the photos/pages but cant seem to figure it out.

The only way I can see is to put a caption below the photo using Photoshop or Graphic Converter, for example, and put that photo in the Book. That is a bit tedious. Typing directly into the Book would surely be easier.

It is not shown as being in the album at all, even the track number is omited. How can I get that single to play in order when selecting the Album without creating a special playlist just for this album. I thought when you did a "Complete my album" it would do just that not omit it from the album and keep the single as a separate track.

Each time I have closed iPhoto, it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to "save this critical information." Before I upgraded to my new 27" iMac, it would never do this and iPhoto would close right away. I keep seeing these weird multi-color single pixel lines across my windows and my system is crashing alot (rather it becomes completely frozen and non-responsive). I don't know if this is a video card problem, or memory issue, or just something in the system OS. It does seem that it happens quite often while running Handbrake. I'm still getting these lines with a fresh OS install, so I'm thinking my original video card is on the way out. Will replacing it with actually improve performance?

I've got quite a few albums that need the album covers and when I click on all of the songs on the album and let iTunes try and retrieve the album covers it comes back with nothing. So what I've done in the past is go to [URL] and copy and paste the covers but it seems like I've got to go thru each song individually to get them to take.
View 4 Replies View RelatedStarted archiving all my old photos and creating dvds. started off using iphoto which is great for compiling a quick slideshow to a couple of music tracks. i then imported these to idvd and created my first dvd project which i was pretty pleased with for a first attempt. The only thing i found annoying was that i could not link all the slideshows together in idvd so that they played one after another, instead you had to come back to the menu and start the next one...so i thought i would import these slideshow movies into imovie and create a complete movie with chapters, titles etc. but when i did this i noticed that the quality of the slideshow in imovie was very noticeably worse.
being new to mac i wasnt sure what was up so i thought about importing the photos directly into imovie and working with them there. but once again the quality was really poor compared to the iphoto and idvd slideshows. after this i though maybe its just a preview problem and all will be well when i burn them to dvd and watch them on tv...so i burnt a dvd with one slideshow created in iphoto and imported into idvd and also put on a movie of the same slide show that id imported into imovie and back.
anyway long story short quality still better in slide show created in iphoto.
Is it safe to buy an album of pictures I made on iPhoto. If any of you did give me feedback?
