May 30, 2010I have several folders that have albums in them. When I click on a specific folder/album, "mushrooms", I receive the spinning rainbow wheel and then Iphoto crashes. This only occurs with this folder/album. All the other folders/albums work fine.

Feb 24, 2009I just imported some photos into IPhoto 09 and shortly afterwards my IMac did a hard shut down. Now when I open IPhoto I get the following error:
The Photo Library nees to be upgraded to work with this version of IPhoto.
After that I click on upgrade and get the following msg:

Mar 21, 2009I'm creating a web site using iWeb '09 at the moment, and there are a few things I'm having trouble with:
1) Is there a way to set the key photos of photo albums? At the moment, it shows the first photo in the album. I'm using albums from my MobileMe gallery.
2) Is there a way to put search boxes on all pages, and not just the blog ones? I'd like to be able to put one on, eg, the 'About' page or the 'Photos' page, so that people can search the site/blog from any page.
3) I can't figure out how to set an iPhone web clip icon - how do you do this?
MacBook :: Photo Library Needs To Be Upgraded For New IPhoto
Jun 9, 2009When I click to open the application it says that the photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto. So I have the choice to upgrade. But I can't click it because another screen pops up saying that iPhoto quit unexpectedly. I can ignore it, send a report, or relaunch the application. This happens every single time, and I can no longer access my photo library.

MacBook Pro :: Permanently Delete Photo In Iphoto?
May 25, 2012I have to get a pic off of my computer and out of my cloud --- permanently (old pic of an ex - haha). I selected the photo and a yellow outline of the photo appeared. I clicked DELETE and it disappeared from my iPhoto library. But when I was streaming photos to my tv over Apple TV the picture came up - even though I deleted it.

MacBook Pro :: Why Have To Pay For IPhoto Upgrade For Photo Stream
Jul 3, 2012I have 2 iphones and i wanted photostream. I got ICLOUD on my PC and it worked fine FOR FREE. My Macbook Pro said I need to upgrade to Lion in order to use photostream. I like my Mac as is but felt okay. It then costs $32 to upgrade-- just to get photstream. Okay so I did it. Then I go to ICLOUD and photostream is not highlighted. Under "learn more" I find out I need to upgrade my software--which I do . Then i find out that i need to go to the App Store and PAY to upgrade my IPHOTO for like another $16.00. I called Apple as there is nothing that says there will be another charge and frankly for $40 plus I can just plug in my phone. I am really angry and have not paid for the IPHOTO app that I dont want. There is nothing even in the forums I read that says there will be another charge.

ICloud On Mac :: Photo Streams Don't Appear In IPhoto On MacBook
Jun 29, 2014I am having an issue with iPhoto on my MacBook. I used to have lots of photo streams as well as the standard auto upload photo stream, but recently I accidentally turned off photos for iCloud in system preferences. I immediately turned it back on but it was too late, the photo streams where gone! All that appeared when I turned it back on was the standard auto upload photo stream. The other photo streams did not load back in to iPhoto. Besides losing lots of photos (This might not be an issue as I just put them on to another computer) the main annoyance is that the photo streams I created and the ones I had subscribed to had disappeared from iPhoto. The weird thing is that these photo streams still appear on my iPhone!! Is there anything I can do to get the other photo streams back on to iPhoto?

Picasa web is the best out for windows by far so i will be using this. i am curious if there is a way to keep all my events in order, as they were on my mac and import them into Picasa. heck if there is a way to export all the events into folders on my pc at all. then deal with Picasa after that.
I dragged all my files to an external drive before I got rid of the macbook, but when I open the IPhoto library within windows using MacDrive, it gives me all these weird folders. I see the pics in there. But I have 8gb in 1 folder, 800mb in another and a few scattered around. labeled 2008, 2009, 2010, etc. but nothing is feeling right about it and don't think it will copy everything over..

Aug 24, 2014Just bought a Macbook Air running 10.9.4 and was trying to transfer iPhoto library from our old laptop via an external HD.
After I copied the old library to Pictures folder, iPhoto prompted me to install and run upgraded.
I did that but when I try to open iPhoto it still prompts me "The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto." after I click upgrade it shuts down immediately. When I try to access the library as described above, it only opens what I believe is called a package.

Do I delete the Pictures folder and start over? if so, how?

Oct 31, 2010I did the transition to iPhoto 11 after the update was issued and the only problem I've noticed so far is with Faces. Before, I had a smart album that showed me all the unnamed faces. I know prior to upgrading, I had tagged and removed all the faces, so that album should have been empty. Well, it detects about 20 photos and I went through them all and they had tagged faces. No problem I said, probably a bad Smart Album data.
I deleted the smart album, made a new one and the same issue. In a photo that has 2 people in it, it days the 2 peoples names and then suddenly 7 untagged faces. Again no problem but I don't see where these faces are so I can uncheck them. I even tried removing the tags from the current people and then trying it again (and sometimes, it piles up faces on top of each other) but no go. Anybody else having issues with faces?

Jun 10, 2012I am trying to copy 3 photos from an album in iPhoto to my iPhone. I have tried to move them to PhotoStream. I "select" the photos in the Album and then click on PhotoStream in the "Share" menu at the bottom of the screen. Nothing happens. I have also tried emailing them tyo myself but iPhoto won't send the email. It tells me it doesn't recognize my ID and password. My operating is Lion on an iMac.
