View 1 RepliesWhen I import a video from my camera to iMovie it lags bad. I have a black MacBook with a 2.4 core 2 duo and 4gb of ram. I know it is not the file on the cam. I am also running iMovie 08. The video I am trying to improt is from a GoPro hero 2 in 1080p. Is that to much for my old Mac? OS 10.7.3

I just converted to a 2007 Macbook (wife's old comp) and was using Sony's PMB software with my PC (Windows XP SP2). I know that I can use iMovie '08 to import the files but they are HUGE. I assume it's because PMB imports in AVHCD format and iMovie uses .MOV? Is there another program I can use to import my files. I don't want to waste all my hard drive space importing a few movies.

For some reason my Video Camera no longer has an option to import footage into iMovie or iPhoto since re-installing Snow Leopard.Previously I was able to click "File, Import from Camera" and then select my Camcorder from the camera list. But now my Panasonic SDR-H18 no longer appears in this list when connected, although it does appear as a mounted drive on the desktop.
Since upgrading to Snow Leopard, I can no longer import P2 footage. I get the stop sign and error: no data.In the import window I can play the clip and everything is fine, but when I add to the clip to the import queue it just times out.
Any thoughts? Is it somehow related to Quicktime being updated by Snow Leopard?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOccasionally my friends and I go to tinychat to do a multi-person video chat. Usually when i click "broadcast" there are many video options and I choose the one that has myself on it. It usually says something like "USB camcorder" or something with USB in it. However; the other night I tried to go on, and it wouldn't let me. I noticed that the video options had gone down to about 4, and the one with myself was called "Built-In iSight." I have never had this option before, so I clicked it. the green light next to my camera flicked on and then off. You couldn't see me. Was it something I did? All the video sharing websites do this; however on my photobooth and ichat it works fine...
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy video camera (JVC) has a USB port, when I connect the cord from the video camera to the macbook, it doesn't recognize it. I assume you can connect it to the computer this way since it has a USB port on the cam. The cam has firewire (which mac doesn't) and it charges from a dv connection.

I just started using iChat for the first time and now have the issue of not being able to see my buddy on video chat. My buddy states the same thing, not being able to see me. I check the "Video" tab on the tool bar, ensuring that all items (microphone, camera, etc.) were enabled, and they all were.

Have just finished movie on MacAir with material from camcorder's hard drive. No problem in transferring material from the brand new camera. I have older digital material recorded on tape cassettes by Sony videocam which I would like to re-work with iMovie11. The iMovi11 manual says transfer to the Air requires a FireWire connection. I still have the older digital camera and the cables that came with it but neither the Air nor my Toshiba laptop have FireWire ports. Any thoughts on how to effect a transfer?

I have a some MP4 video files I got from a DVD which are "home" made. So no commercial DVD or anything like that.I used Adobe Premiere Pro to convert them in a Quicktime playable format and thought I could now import it to iTunes and sync it on my iPhone or iPad.On a Windows machine I was able to import the movie file but if I let iTunes convert it to the iPhone compatible format it fails. I get a new movie file with the sound but the movie shows only a white screen. On my Mac ( where I actually need it) I wasn't even able to import it into iTunes.
I konw there are many posts around about this matter but none so far could give me a hint to resolve that issue.Does anybody know the exact settings of an mp4 such that I can use it in iTunes on a Mac? I should be able to export it in any format with Adobe Premier Pro but sofar none of the files worked. Even *.mov files wont import into iTunes on my Mac.
