View 4 RepliesI am opening iPhoto, and when I go to my iCloud folder the albums are their, but there are no photos in the album. My mac mini is all up to date and so in iPhoto. The odd thing is the photo albums are on my iPad and iPhone with all of the photos. I have tried signing out of iCloud and that did nothing.

I am trying to copy 3 photos from an album in iPhoto to my iPhone. I have tried to move them to PhotoStream. I "select" the photos in the Album and then click on PhotoStream in the "Share" menu at the bottom of the screen. Nothing happens. I have also tried emailing them tyo myself but iPhoto won't send the email. It tells me it doesn't recognize my ID and password. My operating is Lion on an iMac.

Every single photos has the name of the image on the facebook photo description, for example: IMG00982.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI somehow lost half my photo album and eventually searched spotlight with 'jpeg and jpg'. This not only found them, it found literally thousands more, many of them duplicates. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to restore the missing Photos. My idea is to import the lot, and then hopefully try and remove all duplicates like itunes does.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I am in an event I right click a photo and send it to the trash. Then when I right click another photo in the event and "show file" I still see the jpg of the photo I thought I deleted. I then have to drag that jpg into the trash.
Am I doing something wrong or are both steps required?
What is the proper way to delete photos from iPhoto?
then i thinked of a noob way to do it: in iphoto window, could I just drag all the events' photos i wanna keep to separate temp folders. then delete the iphoto library file alltogether, and then reimport all the backuped pictures again, will that work?

I know this is a reoccurring question, but I haven't found the answer to this specific flavour of it, so I hope you can help. I'm using iphoto 09. After initially using it with default setup, I've now unticked the 'Copy items to the iphoto library' in preferences.I've got an external (NAS, one that is plugged in the router) harddrive with all my photos on it. I didn't want to pull them into a library on my mac, and putting the iphoto library onto the NAS drive didn't work either (it wouldn't load the thumbnails). So I've decided to leave the photos where they are and point iphoto to them without importing them (by unticking that box I mentioned, which was described in another post). Deleting however is a problem. Ideally I would hope I can delete a photo in iphoto and it would be deleted on the NAS drive as well. I've read all the posts about deleting and then emptying the iphoto trash, which I did. I pressed all sorts of keys when deleting (cmd, alt, ctrl, shift etc. - didn't work either.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently went on a trip and have a lot of photos to organize. I am new to iPhoto so I was wondering if there is a way to organize photos within an album (like a way to keep events separated within an album) because I'de like to keep all the photo's for this trip together, but I would also like to organize them into different outings.

i have returned all my photos into the new iphoto 9.1.However they aren't displayed the way they used to be. The computer is ignoring all the dates i entered on the individual film rolls and displaying them with date that's embedded on the digital images. An example is i have a film roll which contains photos of my cat Salem which range from 2004 to 2012. This 'folder' used to be displayed at the bottom of all the film rolls as i had it dated 12/25/2020 so i knew where it was and could add to it easily. Now though it's near the top lumped together with 2004 photos dated 2004-2012.How do i get iPhoto to display my photo film rolls the way they were on iphoto 6?I would go back to running TIiger and the apps that came with it including iPhoto 06 but i need snow leopard as i have bought two new Lacie 2 TB drives for storage and they need a newer operating system.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have my macbook sold and now trying to import my iphoto album (1 20gb file)into windows. Picasa web is the best out for windows by far so i will be using this. i am curious if there is a way to keep all my events in order, as they were on my mac and import them into Picasa. heck if there is a way to export all the events into folders on my pc at all. then deal with Picasa after that.
I dragged all my files to an external drive before I got rid of the macbook, but when I open the IPhoto library within windows using MacDrive, it gives me all these weird folders. I see the pics in there. But I have 8gb in 1 folder, 800mb in another and a few scattered around. labeled 2008, 2009, 2010, etc. but nothing is feeling right about it and don't think it will copy everything over..
I've created six albums in iPhoto and formatted them as contact sheets with names under each image (to make a printable sales catalogue). Is there a way of saving them in the same format to a disk/USB/into a Word document?

I did the transition to iPhoto 11 after the update was issued and the only problem I've noticed so far is with Faces. Before, I had a smart album that showed me all the unnamed faces. I know prior to upgrading, I had tagged and removed all the faces, so that album should have been empty. Well, it detects about 20 photos and I went through them all and they had tagged faces. No problem I said, probably a bad Smart Album data.
I deleted the smart album, made a new one and the same issue. In a photo that has 2 people in it, it days the 2 peoples names and then suddenly 7 untagged faces. Again no problem but I don't see where these faces are so I can uncheck them. I even tried removing the tags from the current people and then trying it again (and sometimes, it piles up faces on top of each other) but no go. Anybody else having issues with faces?
I have several folders that have albums in them. When I click on a specific folder/album, "mushrooms", I receive the spinning rainbow wheel and then Iphoto crashes. This only occurs with this folder/album. All the other folders/albums work fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have experienced a problem after I updated to SL last night.I made a fresh install of both SL and iLife 09 on my mbp unibody late 2008.
Afterwards, I replaced the my fresh iphoto library simply with my old iphoto 09library from time machine (no migration tool, only copy pasts).
But now I recognized a problem that I see no iphoto library in my Desktop and Screensaver Menu in control panel. I cant set iphoto library photos as screensaver cause I cant see them
Does anyone have a solution for it? or does anybody face the same issue?
