View 1 RepliesI notice the Archive mailbox in Apple Mail has disappeared. I can find messages in that mailbox using Searchlight if I know the exact contents of the message or subject but I use this mailbox to store application licenses, etc., and do not always know the right subject. I used to browse, knowing roughly the time when I bought the licese. Also the Flagged mailbox is grayed out in the favorites line and not shown in the left hand mailbox side bar. Also a pain because I set reminder messages and conference call emails with colored flags. I'm using iCloud Mail. I can see the Archive mailbox on my iPod touch's Mail app, but on my Mail app in Mavericks the only mailboxes are Inbox, Sent, Junk, and Trash. What can I do to make the Archvie mailbox visible in the sidebar on the right?

When archiving my Exchange account locally on my Mac, the server keeps syncing the messages back to my Mac! Ideally I would like my MacBook Pro to 'lead' the sync rather than 'combine'. I have tried many options including setting up a 'rule' which didn't move a single message! Also I tried copying all the messages, placing them in a local file & then deleting them from the inbox. But anything over around 10 messages, it just doesn't work! I have around 3000 messages I need to archive & cannot do it ten at a time. Also if I try using the web account on a browser it only allows me to move around ten at a time...! I am running 10.9.4 using Mac Mail.

I'm using an iMac with Mac OS 10.5.8 as a desktop and a MacBook with 10.6.8 when I travel. I want to transfer my entire Address Book from the MacBook back to my iMac. I have done the reverse multiple times with no problem by simply creating an archive with Address Book (v.4.1.2) and importing it on my MacBook (Address Book v. 5.0.3). But when I do the reverse, the only vcards that show up are the ones I've updated while using my MacBook. All the rest are gone. I know I can recover all the vcards by shift-clicking the entire list and copying them as a file. However, I want to revover all my group lists, which are too many to recreate.

I have a Macbook that is about 4 years old. The charger doesn't connect and charge properly - It works if I hold it on the computer. My question is - how can I tell if I need a new charger or if it is the charging dock in the computer. The magnetic connection does not seem to be clicking in the way it is suppose to. Any one else have experience with this who can offer some ideas?

I created several smart mailboxes and then created several smart mailbox folders. When I close mail and re-open, one smart mailbox folder remains and the others are gone, along with some but not all of my smart mailboxes.

For no reason at all, all my folders under my active mailbox have disappeared? I've tried locating my library and then the mail folder - but there is no 'Mail' folder in my Library and I've just checked all my back up (Time Machine) logs and there never has been? Where else can I retrieve my folders.

Don't know how to delete pages or folders from my Documents list. When I try to right or left click, they just open. If I highlight the title and hit "delete" nothing happens. Accumulation lots of unwanted pages- Sure it's an easy answer, I just don't know it...

My computer has decided all of a sudden to stop letting me drag and drop files and folders. I have attached several mouses and tried the track pad and even tried to fix it with system prefrences but found nothing is working. I can still click and drag programs that are up like safari and other windows but I can't seem to drag and drop folders and files which is upsetting when trying to organize your computer.

We have changed e-mail providers and I want to archive my current saved e-mails in Mac Mail. I saw an earllier discussion about creating folders in Mac Mailbox and moving e-mails manually into the folders. I've set up a series of folders.  How do I move my e-mails from the Concast folders to the new folders I've now created in Mac Mail?Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm being sort of forced to quit using the MacMail App because Comcast blocks it's ports from time to time and then I can't use the email program.
I hate to resort to using Comcast's email program but.....does anyone here know how I can get my Folders from MacMail into Comcast's email program?
I have never set up Time Machine on my Macbook Pro.I have several Mailbox's or Folders inside my email system or Mac Mail.I wanted to clear some of the less used folders out and so I exported them to another folder on my desktop. Then I deleted the folders or Mailbox's from inside the Email system or Mac Mail. When I went to the folder on the desktop to see the exported emails, there was nothing you could read, it was all jibberish or crazy characters. What did I do wrong and how can I retrieve those important saved emails?

I imported my pictures to aperture, and in the project window, I have one "lump" of 4000 pictures. They ARE separated by folders and albums (and subfolders), but in the finder, they are just one lump of files. How do I get the files (in the finder) back to a folder structure?!
View 3 Replies View RelatedWell, I use Spotlight religiously on a daily, hourly, maybe minute basis. I have a ton of organized folders under my Documents and when I search for any of those folders in spotlight no results are yielded. Not even if the whole folder is typed out, or even just partial. I tried typing in many different folder names I have but nothing.
Then I tried typing in spotlight the names of Pages files, Excel Files, Word, etc...you name it. But nothing.
In Old Leopard, when I opened the Applications folder from the dock, my app icons were small enough that all of them were displayed at once. In Snow Leopard, the icons are much larger, and there's a scroll bar at the side. I liked the old way better. Any way to get it back, other than going back to 10.5?

I used MobileMe but am being forced to iCloud. I used MobileMe to store documents but in iCloud it doesn't seem that one can create folders in which to put documents; I can only upload documents to "Pages" tab and sort them by name. Also, the support seems to indicate I should be able to upload PDF but when I try it says that PDF is not supported.

I'm a new MAC user. Why can't I save files to sub-folders under Documents? Also why do I have to provide my password every time I update or move a file?Â

I'm able to move the document upon clicking on its icon however it is not accepted by the folder I lay it over including laying the document in the opened folder's column.Â
I am trying to copy folders over to iCloud Drive that contain documents inside the folders. When I look online (icloud.com), the folders remain but are empty inside. Is there a different procedure I should be doing?

I like to keep my 'documents' area of the finder uncluttered, but lots of pieces of software, such as 'Bookends', Microsoft Office and others put folders there each time they are opened.
To try to move them, I opened the prefs of Bookends and moved the folder location to a better place, but every time I open the software it just puts a new folder in 'documents'.
I want to move my pictures, movies, music and documents folders to another internal drive. I read in this post that it should be a simple manoeuvre to move the pictures folder to another location and replace the pictures folder in the old home folder with an alias pointing to the pictures folder in the new location. I thought perhaps I can follow that procedure also for the other folders.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDid a fresh install of SL on my iMac. So far, so good.
Go to my Documents folder, enter time machine, choose the files in my Documents folder and click restore. Exits out back to my desktop, enter my password and it starts to copy over the files. But then suddenly stops. And only copies over a small number of files and empty folders. When trying to restore just the files in some of the folders I get an error that says I don't have permission to access these files. Don't have permission? Says who and why?
So I go in via finder to the backup, select all the files in my Documents, and manually drag them over to my Documents folder. Same thing happens.
The files are a couple hundred mb. But can't figure out why they don't all copy over. Weird thing is I didn't have this problem with files from other locations like restoring my iPhoto library.
My "achive as" button do not appear when im trying to save a scanned PDF document but only the "achive" button. I have tried seraching the internet for answer but without any result. Â A solution to the prblem is to press doublicate and then "archive" then i get the option to save in a specific loaction (notice that even after doublicating i don't get the option to archvie as).
-The problem also appears on exsisting pdf document and documents from other users.
- i open it in apple standard preview program
- The problem appaered 6 months ago after and general apple software upgrade.
- I don't have any "download" folder in my finder menu ( I don't know if this is a relevant information but could have somthing to do with the settings i.e. as administor even though it is my own mac).Â
