replace flash as the default. apple has had a special arrangement with Google from the iPhones inception to link mobile Safari directly to youtubes HTML site, do you think this is a possibility on the mac, obviously not to ban flash(the government wouldn't approve of that) but to replace it as the default?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI created a site with iweb 08. I did it from scratch, because when I tried to load the site that was created from 06, it totally messed up everything. I have a couple custom fonts that I used, and it looks great in iweb, but when I view the published website on another computer, the fonts are completely different, like they reverted to default. I finally got everything to work ok with 08, and now I have a font problem. If it makes a difference, I'm not using a .mac account.

I have a two-monitor configuration with a USB Wacom Stylus pad, separate keyboard and 800 Firewire.
With my disability I have limited funds to upgrade, but have been a loyal Mac user since 1991 when I was permanently laid off as Art Director for a large commercial print shop, because of my medical condition. I then started my own freelancing business as a graphic design concept specialist from that time until the present. I just finished designing a new logo for a new medical research lab at UCSD and Annual Report for Berger Hospital Foundation.I recently had my 3rd craniotomy surgery 02/06/2012 and am recovering well. I want to move my iWeb website from my tower to my Powerbook, but be able to move it back later.
It makes more sense to have it on the PowerBook sometimes, so I can write blog pages and make minor updates on-the-go.
I'd also like to be able to move it back to my tower so when I want to use the media browser for larger (though less frequent) updates that involve pulling photos from iPhoto, or tunes from iTunes, I can do that easily.
So.. what do I need to grab off the tower to make sure I've got everything so I can open and work on it on my PowerBoook?

I have a Macbook Pro (Lion originally installed) running on Mavericks (all latest updates). SSD installed and the DVD tray is replaced by the original HDD.
The laptop wasn't running very smooth anymore so decided to give it a fresh Mavericks install (even though I know it's not really necessary for mac, everything is much faster except a weird internet problem came up).
After freshly installing Mavericks I couldn't get into my google account anymore, just wouldn't load. Tried Safari (use this normally) and Firefox and Chrome, this last was gave a SSL connection error, both Safari and FF said the website couldn't be loaded because the server didn't respond. For Gmail I use Mailplane which is just stuck on a white page. I tried repairing the keychain, repaired disk and disk permissions, cleaned browsers, turned off firewall and antivirus (Shopos) started in safe mode, checked time settings which were all good. Nothing... I even ended up creating a usb bootdisk for Mavericks, formatted the disk and reinstalled from the start just Mavericks and nothing else, started Safari, still the same problem. I figured it's not worth reinstalling all software so put back my backup.
Now I ended up somehow only being able to use Gmail normally in Firefox, Chrome still gives SSL error and Safari can load the inbox, but I can't open any messages. I get the error there is a problem with the connection. If I try in Basic HTML mode it surprisingly does work.
You would say, just use Firefox, finished...but the thing is that sometimes random websites won't load in Firefox, when I load the same site in Safari it works perfectly.
O yes, I also tried the connect to my iPhone and use the Cellular data network, then it's no problem using Gmail in Safari normally. You would say it's a router problem, but I have another Macbook Pro (just one model later running Mountain Lion) this one works perfectly with every browser. Also my iPhone does everyting logged into the WiFi network.

Safari home page is defaulted to "only-search.com" and it won't let me change it. MacBook Pro, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB, running OS10.7.5 and Safari version 6.1.6 (7537.78.2). I checked software update for OS and Safari (auto, though checked myself) and everything is up to date. I change the "Homepage" and when I restart Safari the "only-search.com" web page keeps coming up. On occasions a message also appears that "my web browser is about to crash and yes or no to clean it" which I have ignored. How to get a clean Safari version?

i opened a new file in textedit, put in a basic html code, <html> and </html> saved it as an html file then when I opened it in safari i see exactly what I'd typed in.

I'm wondering why some websites when turned to the "Reader" option in Safari, some html characteristics are missing. One that I noticed was the <hr> tag that creates an horizontal line across an html page. Is that a normal thing for Reader to do? Can it be forced to display that somehow?

When my 2010 macbook pro changes graphics card it removes my background and sets it as a blue screen. Everything else still works fine and if i go back and set the desktop background again it sets it until next time the card changes!

Other video sites like Dailymotion still run, but take longer to load than they used to.
