Applications :: Site Created In IWeb 08 - Fonts Reverted To Default
Sep 12, 2007
I created a site with iweb 08. I did it from scratch, because when I tried to load the site that was created from 06, it totally messed up everything. I have a couple custom fonts that I used, and it looks great in iweb, but when I view the published website on another computer, the fonts are completely different, like they reverted to default. I finally got everything to work ok with 08, and now I have a font problem. If it makes a difference, I'm not using a .mac account.
Here's my situation:I created a site using iWeb '08. Many months passed and I wasn't doing anything with that particular site any longer, so I nuked the pages within iWeb and have since worked on new projects. Now I need to do some work on that old site again.I have all of the created content in a folder that had been stored on my server, but I have nary a clue how to get it all back into iWeb again.
I use IWeb to make my site with no problem. however now I'm doing another site and can't publish it (the new site). I've tried to erase my site from "sites" but cannot publish the other site!
My old MB got attacked by some tea and died. So now i have a new unibody although the main thing that i have lost from my old MB is my iWeb pages.
I have mobile me, and have the site published to that. How can i download the site to my MB in iWeb format? Iv tried downloading them as HTML but iWeb can't open them.
I use change my icons, at least the dock ones to make them look uniform. I usually manually change them, (copy, ctrl+i, paste) but for ical I had a problem. I did the normal routine and it did work. It changed the icon to what I wanted, until I opened the program. Then it changed it back to the default icon. So I used Candybar to do the samething, and the same thing happened. I did this for about 20 icons or so, and they all changed, except for ical. Well it did change initally but when I opened it, it reverted.
I accidentally double-clicked on a file named "Domain" which was really a backup file of my Site. My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which I have made many changes. Now when I open IWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto IWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto IWeb? I haven't setup time machine, I publish using Easy IWeb Publisher, I don't have have a Mobileme account.
i'm new to the whole we publishing world and I need a little help. I've created a personal page on iWeb, and now I want to publish it, but not on .mac. here is what i want:
i. i want a to be able to have my own domain name; www.(myname).com ii. i want it cheap! $8/mo or chearper iii. my own e-mail address that i can maybe link with Web Mail on osx iv. it needs to be easy......
i've looked into godaddy.com, but i just don't understand how i would get my iWeb site to it.

So, I bought a domain www.lastresortpictures.com and just started to build it in iweb. I made a quick hold page until i complete the website. However i just realized that if i go to lastresortpictures.com i get sent to yahoo's "this site is under construction" page... but when i got to www.lastresortpictures.com i go to my website... how do i set it so that both ways will send someone to my website (both with www and without them)... i for one rarely if ever type in the www..
I have a site that I made with iWeb on my iMac. Now I have a second Mac, a Mini, and I am trying to use it to work on my site but I can't figure out how to access the current site with iWeb. All it seems to want to do is create new sites. My site is saved to the "Sites" folder on my hard drive, and uploaded to my MobileMe space. Yet there doesn't seem to be any way to open the site, from either location, with iWeb on the Mini.
just got a new Mac Pro and I need to transfer my iWeb site over, but am having absolutely no luck doing so. The older iWeb site was created on iWeb 2.0 and is uploaded to my MobileMe account and everything.
In the process of making an iweb site, still alot to do though. Uploaded what i have done so far and have run into a problem when viewing it on my sisters windows computer at work. The page in question is: [URL] The flash window on the left that displays the panoramic looks fine on my laptop with Safari and Firefox, though on my sisters Windows (whom most of my audience will be viewing with) the flash box only comes down to 3/4s of its propper size, exposing the shape i have placed behind it to act as a border. Does anyone have any idea on what may be causing this and maybe a solution? Could it actually be a problem with my sisters work computer?!
Long story short. Don't try to reformat your Mac when you are drunk, and accidentally delete your external drive with your time machine backup! I have my website published to my webhosting.. I downloaded the contents back to a folder. How do I import that website back into iWeb app to continue working on it... I tried to find the root folder to where iWeb stores your saved site.. But cant seem to find it!
A little while later I notice the MBP felt like it was running when I touched it. It was vibrating from the HD running. I didn't think much of this.
I just now tried to turn my MBP on and it wouldn't. I decide to plug it in. When it turned on it did so for about 2 seconds, turned off, then turned back on. It then took a long time to boot up. When it finally did boot, it told me that the clock was all out of whack and I noticed tons of my settings had been reverted to default. I then check the battery to see that it is charging but the level is at 1%! When I shut the MBP lid earlier to put it to sleep the battery was at least 50%.
I want to move my iWeb website from my tower to my Powerbook, but be able to move it back later.
It makes more sense to have it on the PowerBook sometimes, so I can write blog pages and make minor updates on-the-go.
I'd also like to be able to move it back to my tower so when I want to use the media browser for larger (though less frequent) updates that involve pulling photos from iPhoto, or tunes from iTunes, I can do that easily.
So.. what do I need to grab off the tower to make sure I've got everything so I can open and work on it on my PowerBoook?
I created my website in iWeb '08 about a year ago and it's finally time to update it, but I'm running into a few problems.First, I'm using a new computer now, although I transferred all of the files from one HD to the other. When I go to open iWeb on my MacBook, I can't access my old site. I never worked on my site from my new computer, but I have all the files. I have the actual files (such as .jpgs and mp3s) in an organized folder. The website itself and all the information is in the folder that I upload via FTP to my server. How do I get to open all of those in iWeb so that I can edit the site?
I have created a website using my iWeb application, but I cannot figure out how to get it up and running through my host. I have an account with justhost.com, and they claim it is an easy process to get iWeb sites online through them, but I have tried and still can't figure it out.
my MBP's hard drive just died. Disk Repair, DiskWarrior, and Disk Utility all agree my apple partition is screwed and unmountable.
I've been able to get it temporarily so that i can boot via an external drive. This is not my issue, my issue is that I have been working on a website for a company. It's been published and everything. My problem is that now that I lost the original files, am I going to be unable to edit it via iweb?
I have 5 days or so until my disk makes it to me (yeah, I'm overseas in an area without an apple store or service center to take my mac to), so I guess I'll find out for myself then.
This only started happening recently, ever since I added a personal domain. I still host on mobile me, but I just use godaddy for my domain name.
Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a fix for this? because It takes entirely too long to upload my entire site every single time I make any 1 change.
And yes, for the record I am choosing the option "Publish site changes" NOT "Publish Entire site"
How do I add one of these to my iweb site? In as simple terms as possible! And please don't be too generic as in "Create a new ____ then type..." I'd prefer "Create a new ___ by going to ___ and selecting ___..." Oh, if you can't tell me how to put on on my site, please could you at least tell me what it's called?
So I have a google apps account with domain name. I have created a page in iweb and exported this to a folder. Is there anyway I can upload my created single page to my google apps domain name and bypass the crappy google apps page creator. I am sure that there is some way to do it under the godaddy.com domain registration panel, but I don't know how.
Using iWeb '08, I have the statcounter(.com) html code pasted as an html snippet on my site. It works fine, but it's only tracking the home page. How can I track all the pages?
I have an iWeb website which comes up on the first page of google if the correct (and most likely) things are searched for. But at the moment it displays on Google in an odd way - the main result is a random PDF I have on my site and then, under that as a sub-result, is the title "Home" (my home page) and the snippet of text it displays is the menu on my homepage. How can I make the main title of the result say something like "SS957916's Fantastic Website - Photos, videos and more" with the text snippet being body text from my site rather than the menu?!
New software: final cut, iwork 10, osx 10.7, osx 10.6.3, ect New mac pro: Finally its been to long. 6 and 12 cores. and or new video cards. New IPhone and IOS centric store: not likely but possible Macbook air update/removal New Mac Mini: Better graphics card, core i3/5/7 processor New Macbook pro 13: core i3/i5 New Macbook: core i3 New Apple TV: Most likely not I found that I am actually pretty accurate when it comes to these things.
My question: is there a way to add meta tag information to an iWeb created website? I know iWeb 06 (and I assume 08) does not natively allow you to do this. Is there a workaround? If so, if you could point me to a URL that explains, in some detail, how to do it, that would be amazing....
I created a website in Iweb. When I go to save my file in Publish to a folder I get a error message reading "Publish error" An unknown error occurred. And when I pulled up my existing iweb file many of the photos were missing. The photo placeholders had Question marks in them.
