OS X Yosemite :: Mac Not Recognizing Mixer / Audio Interface
Nov 30, 2014I can’t record an audio (vocal) track. Here is my gear, DAW: Reason 8, Mac running Yosemite (version 10.10), mixer: Behringer 1204 USB (with built audio interface). I’ve also tried the following stand alone audio interfaces, TASCAM US 100 and M-Audio Fast track Pro. Key board Axiom 25. I gone into preferences and selected USB Audio CODEC for both output and input on the MAC, did the same under reason preference audio tab. when I create a audio track in Reason, in the audio input section I see “No audio input”.
When I select the drop down menu there is a section for Mono input and Stereo for me to check this is followed by a grayed out section that states “No audio input available, please check your sound card settings. The other funny thing is when I use Garage Band, I have no issues recording. I just recorded in garage band using the Behringer 1204. Am I missing some simple setting somewhere,missing a channel routing.

Apr 18, 2012I have a 2010 Mac Book Pro that I just downloaded the new OS X Lion for the upgrades ext... I haven't had any other problems except that before I downloaded the Lion my Mac would recognize my external hard drive (WD passport). And now it doesn't, I even go to the finder and it doesn't even show up under "computer" to make sure there isn't anything wrong with my external hard drive I plugged it into another mac that doesn't have Lion and it would work. My external drive has everything 1TG of everything.

Mar 7, 2009Last week I happened to buy a new 16 gig pen drive to backup important stuff... then I started using time machine and everything was OK till today. Now whenever I pop in the flash drive to the USB port, my macbook won't recognize it and after a few seconds the drive will get really, really insanely-absurdely hot to the point that I will remove it afraid of something worse happening.

PowerPC :: 12" G4 Not Recognizing Hard Drive
Mar 11, 2007I have a 12" PowerBook G4 that stopped recognizing the factory hard-drive some time back. I have a G4 iBook so I was not in a hurry to look into it. I removed the old hard-drive and replaced it with a Scorpio drive of 60GB. It still fails to recognize the hard-drive. If I run the Apple Care diagnostics it hangs at the start-up while 'scanning for volume' or something like that. t hangs for 15-minutes or more and never moves past. The CD-RW drive is fine as I can boot the machine into the OSX installer up to the point where it asks for a destination...at which point nothing is selectable. It is a 867MHz G4 PowerBook with 768MG RAM. This is a fantastic notebook and I would hate to see it remain in this state. Does anyone have any ideas? I replaced the IDE cable and hard-drive with all new Mac OEM parts (except the HD) and reset the PRAM or PMU or what ever it is called...with no results.

Mar 29, 2012Yesterday, (Mar 28,2012) Finder was listing my external drive but when I went to eject the drive, it no longer showed in Finder. I cannot eject the drive properly. It is showing on my Desktop. I've done a disk utility verfy disk and it is recognized and no problem was found. I tried a new USB cable and the old Fire Wire (which doesn't work??). I used a different USB port but nothing seems to work. I've also tried restarting. I am running a MacBook Pro with 10.6.8.

Jul 26, 2010I have a late 2009 15 inch mbp. I upgraded the hard drive to a 640g and has been fine for a while. I previously was not getting the correct drive size in bootcamp, was only seeing 595g instead of 640g total partition size. when i look at finder it shows 639 gigs, so correct filesize. When i look at disk utility through utilites and also when i boot from the install disk, they both say 639gigs as well. When I look in grandperspective it also shows only 454gigs used, while spotlight is showing 486gigs used. When i add up all the items on my hard drive

I try to insert a photo cd and it is not accepted. I then thought I might try to burn a disc from iTunes to see if it might "wake up" the drive. No luck.
I have a mac book pro running yosemite. As best I can tell, the last time I used the drive was about 6 months ago, prior to the upgrade to yosemite. Is this a sign of a software problem or a hardware problem?

OS X Yosemite :: Can't Change Icon Of Hard Drive On MacBook Pro
Dec 5, 2014I changed the icon of my 2TB Toshiba hard drive when I still had Mavericks on my Macbook Pro 13-inch (Mid-2012). I tried changing the icon on the same hard drive on Yosemite and change it to my new icon (and it changed to the new one), however, as soon as I ejected my hard drive and accessed it again, it was still using the same previous icon, and not the new one.
I've tried different methods such as deleting the icon then ejecting the hard drive and when I re-accessed it, it would have the default folder icon for when it doesn't have a custom icon. I would then change the default folder icon to the new icon that I wanted to use (and it would change to the new icon), ejected the hard drive and then accessed it again, however when I did, it would still use the previous icon that I originally used! I've also I tried restarting the laptop while the hard drive was connected and it still wouldn't change. Restarting the laptop while the hard drive was ejected also did not work.
I'm not sure if it's something related to the OS change or some permissions on the hard drive itself.

Dec 8, 2014I'm on a macbook Pro and I've been having trouble with "Notes" ever since I upgraded to Yosemite. At first notes wasn't syncing properly from MacBook to iPhone, then it looked like sync was happening properly. But now I've noticed that one, important, long-running "Note" has disappeared from both devices. I don't use "Time Machine," but I do do weekly back-ups to a hard drive using SuperDuper. Those back-ups are set to not delete information, so I'm hoping this missing "Note" and/or its data is somewhere on my back-up drive? I've been trying to look through my library, etc., but I can't seem to find it. I opened the Notes app from the back-up and the Note was still missing.

Dec 10, 2014I have 120 giga in my hard drive and as you can see "Other" takes most of the disk space.
And these are my files and their size with take 49.22 giga of space, I don't see where is the rest of the disk space. I believe it is in the "Other" but how can I access it to free the not needed items.

Dec 31, 2010I'm trying to use a Blue Snowball USB microphone to record in Garage Band (run on Mac OSX Snow Leopard). However, Garageband is not recognizing the Snowball when I go to Preferences.
In addition my mac is not recognizing the snowball when I go under sound within system preferences.
The power light is illuminated on the Snowball. I tried the Blue on my friend's mac computer and it also did not recognize the mic.

My understanding is that with the .Trashes folder selected in Finder, if I issue the empty trash command what gets emptied is the trash on my computer. How do I empty the .Trashes folder on the external drive?

Dec 10, 2014Currently, I'm using on my iMac Yosemite and on an external Thunderbolt drive Mavericks, In Yosemite I use Apple Mail, but would like to use this also under Mavericks. I often swap between these two OS because of X-Plane testing purposes.
since Apple Mail stores all mail folders on the "local" Yosemite disk, I was wondering if it's not possible to move it to another external data disk and tell Yosemite Apple Mail to go to that external data disk to retrieve all mail information. When that's possible, I can do then the same for my Mavericks Apple Mail. End result would be for me that I always have up-to-date email available either I'm working with Yosemite or Mavericks.

I bought the mac because I knew the windows unit was on it's way out. I am just not sure what to do now that it is reality. Dec 2, 2014I'm unable to activate iCloud Drive on my MacBook running Yosemite 10.10.1. Some documents eventually show up in my iCloud Drive, but I'm never able to create new ones or download new ones created e.g. on the web or on my iphone. I disabled iCloud Drive for now, and whenever I try to re-enable it I get the following erorr in the Console:cloudd: SQL error: 'DELETE FROM CSChunkTable WHERE ct_iid = 596', (11) database disk image is malformed
which is repeated for 100s of ids. iCloud Drive works on a guest account and on other devices. I already tried signing out of iCloud on this Computer, but without success.
Is there any way to "repair" this malformed database disk image?
