I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to Yosemite. The iCloud Drive shows up in the sidebar, but I am not able to access it. It is accessible on my other MacBook Pro. Is it not possible to have the same iCloud Drive on two different computers then?

So If I backup through time machine ON my Mavericks macbook, Will I be able to restore it on Yosemite after installing it ?I am asking this because time machine captures the "look" of Mavericks and Yosemite looks different. Will the (Mavericks)backup be compatible to Yosemite ?

I have updated my system to snow leopard. All went fine until I hit the print button... All my previous printers are gone. I have a HP laserjet p3005dn which worked fine under 10.5.x but it's no longer visible. When I open up the fax/ print pref pane and scan for new printers only the (software) PDF9 printer is visible. How can I get my printer back?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm unable to activate iCloud Drive on my MacBook running Yosemite 10.10.1. Some documents eventually show up in my iCloud Drive, but I'm never able to create new ones or download new ones created e.g. on the web or on my iphone. I disabled iCloud Drive for now, and whenever I try to re-enable it I get the following erorr in the Console:cloudd: SQL error: 'DELETE FROM CSChunkTable WHERE ct_iid = 596', (11) database disk image is malformed
which is repeated for 100s of ids. iCloud Drive works on a guest account and on other devices. I already tried signing out of iCloud on this Computer, but without success.
Is there any way to "repair" this malformed database disk image?
When I upload a file created in third party apps like Scrivener or Nisus writer on my iMac, I see the file in the finder under iCloud drive in my MacAir, but cannot directly download it. Next to the file name there is a download icon (the same that's used in icloud.com) but clicking on it doesn't do anything. I can't drag the file to my desktop either. I have to go in my browser to icloud.com and download it from there.
I thought I can upload and download files just like in Dropbox or Sugarsync, I use both, without having to go the the icloud.com website.
I am using the latest version of Yosemite on both machines.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy new external harddrive (Buffalo MiniStation) is not showing in finder. I've checked that the correct finder view options are set (i.e. show show external drives). I can see the drive in Disk Utility and it will mount. Also when i try to open a downloaded .dmg file I get the 'no mountable file systems' error.
The drive is fine as it works on another MBP.
I've reinstalled Lion but still no join.

I have observed that any user can see content of test/Documents and ls -l shows that the current user is the owner.
So for example if there is an account Frank, Frank can see the content of test/Documents and Frank is shown as an owner.

1) wake-up form sleep takes up to a minute
2) Various icons will not open or respond until I have clicked on it three or four times and get the spinning beach ball (Finder, Calendar, iTunes)
3) Using Outlook for Mac app - similar issue as 2 when trying to send mail, add attachments or do anything

I upgraded from Yosemite 10.10 to 10.10.1 a bit over a week ago. I am using a Mac Pro (Mid-2010). iMessage worked fine after my upgrade from Mavericks 9.5 to Yosemite 10.10. When the 10.10.1 upgrade came out, I upgraded. Now, I cannot activate iMessage. I get a message that basically says my Apple ID is not recognized. The same Apple ID and iMessage work fine on my rMPB (late 2013) running the upgraded Yosemite 10.10.1. I have not, in all my attempts to activate, received the error code that some folks mention.

I have call Applecare three times. They had me repair permissions and repair my disk in Disk Utilities. That didn't work. They also did the repair in safe mode. Likewise, that didn't work.

After installing Yosemite on my iMac, Spotlight search results are minimal if at all (only contacts pop up)
I've adjusted Spotlight preferences by unchecking all search areas and rearranging the order of search preferences so documents, files and contacts are the only areas to search and still no luck.
