This seems to be an ongoing issue Apple. FaceTime was working fine until yesterday when it decided at all incoming and outgoing calls would fail and now it is stuck on server encountered an error processing registration try again later.

I'm envisioning a scenario where users can drop multi-page, image based PDF files into a shared folder. That folder is "watched" on a OS X Lion server and new files are OCR processed and then moved to another location. My googling so far hasn't showed much promise. Most solutions I'm finding are for windows. Has anyone solved this problem yet? Currently my users are doing the processing in Adobe Acrobat X Pro by hand. It's crushing their laptops and proving to be quite inefficient.

All I do is to add/remove columns on a spreadsheet using Excel 2011 and I see beach balls every time. I'm using Ultimate 13" Air and only running iCal and Excel concurrently. Activity monitor shows excel using 0.2% of CPU. This puzzles me alot.

After waiting for about one minute, it goes on for Ethernet detection, etc. The "one-minute" bothered me a lot. Probably it's a hardware issue or not? I have a macbook and trying to connect to the server at work which is a windows machine. I can connect to the wireless fine. They had said if I'm able to use wireless then I should be able to connect to the server. When I click on it, it always says There was a problem connecting to the server. We are currently running a 10.7.4 Server with 10.7.4 clients. The problem is with the calendar system's sharing funtion. Some users will consistently receive an error message "403" Stating that the user does not have permission to edit the item when they edit an item or change an existing event to another user's shared calendar. After some troublshooting I found that if I made the claendar in question the default calendar in iCal, I was able to create vents without problem. I have tried removing the problemed users from that calendar's list of shared users, and changing permissions back and forth from Read to Read/Write without any success. There are no iCloud or MobileMe accounts on any of the client machines, a pertinent negative as searching for a resolution to this issue yeilds many similar problems related to those services. Â
Summary:Creating or editing an event in a shared calendar within iCal (while not the host of sdaid calendar) results in a error code 403. However, when the user in question changes their default calendar to the shared calendar, there is no issue creating new events. The issue is only persistant with a few users. Other users have no issue manipulting existing records in the same shared calendar. Â

I purchased a 13" MBP a couple of days ago and got the Applecare protection plan with it. I was in the process of registering it, but I realized that there was no AppleCare Registration Number that came with the box. I read some where that if I bought my MBP with the applecare that it would be automatically registered, but when I tried to check my registration status it said that I didn't have anything registered. My question is, are there any other ways to check if my MBP got registered?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am considering getting a used MB Pro for editing home movies. OK, its not Final Cut Pro stuff, but this will be the most demanding thing I use the computer for. In the past I have used iMovieHD and iDVD to make movies on my 12" PB G4 with a 1.25 GHz processor and 1.5 GB of RAM and ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 with 64 MB or 128 MB (not sure which). This has worked fine, but I can tell its a little slow. I certainly can't plan on doing anything else at the same time.
But, now the previous generation MB Pros are going for $1000 (used or refurb) on eBay and I am considering getting something like a 2.4 GHz / 2 - 4 GB with a 256 or 512 MB Nvidia 8600 graphics card.
When I begin the job, the CPU monitor indicates they are working hard, the fans come on and the machine gets hot...all indications it's doing the job.However - if I set it up to do the job overnight, when I come down in the morning the computer is asleep and stone cold, which suggests to me it has ceased processing the file.
f I wake it up - it resumes processing, getting hot again and so on.So how can I ensure it continues the job overnight? I've tried setting ' Never go to sleep ' in system settings ( screen still set to go to sleep ). That doesn't seem to work. When I set it to ' Never go to sleep ' in system settings, do I need to restart to make the settings active ( if I restart I lose all the work on the CAD file done so far! ).
Howdy all. I just inherited my first Mac, a 500 MHz dual boot ibook. I have put a legal (from a friend who no longer has it installed) copy of OSX 10.4 on it, but when I try to send the registration it says Apple is busy/or I couldn't connect to the internet. I am connected via a LAN and can browse and the like. I try to register by connecting via a modem and it connects, talks with Apple, thinks, and then says Apples is busy/or I couldn't connect to the internet. Am I doing something wrong? The machine is working fine, but I think I can't get updates until I register?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy MacBook Pro has crashed many times over the past month. It seems to happen when a lot of processing is going on. It happens when I have nothing external connected. It happens when different software is running. The easiest way for me to make it happen is to have multiple apps running, especially with some videos. It doesn't seem to matter which software is runing.Â
In 2012, I installed some 3rd-party RAM (Corsair 2x4GB). Everything has pretty much worked fine until now.Â
I have already reset the SMC.Â
Instead of installing OSX on an external drive, booting from that, and trying to make it crash, I'm thinking it might be easier to:Remove a stick of RAM and try to make it crash. If it does, switch it with the other stick and try to make it crash.
If it still crashes, then I guess I would make an image of my system drive, reinstall OSX and copy the image over (I'm not 100% how to do that exactly - I know how to get all my documents back, but I'm afraid I'd break a connection necessary for some programs [like Pro Tools] to work.)Â

When I am using Safari and on yahoo and trying to use Fantasy Sports I get Internal server error when I click on my team. I have reset safari and tried firefox but the same thing occurs. On my other computer it works just fine.
