I've been using a website regularly for a while but now when go onto it it says the server cannot be found. I've tried changing the DNS but that didn't work.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis first time problem has persisted since the most recent Apple updates. I have a 24" Mac w/Lion 10.7.4 Whether I use Safari, Camino, Firefox or Opera eventually I get a "server can't be found" message when attempting to open a site ( including Apple, blogs,newspapers, etc). This error isn't consistent. not always the same site won't open ... sometimes I'll get the 'can't be found message', then after opening other sites and returning to the can't open site ... it opens. Also, mail, especially those from businesses, will open but any pics, drawings, etc. aren't there, just a small box with a question mark. Again, this is erratic problem and doesn’t happen every time I open mail. I visited an Apple Genius and she said it was a network issue, then removed a folder named, "CaptiveNetworkSupport" and 9 files ... including a preference.plist, com.apple.Boot.plist, NetworkInterfaces.plist, etc. The Genius said the problem was fixed ... but returning home, I reconnected everything and the original problem is still exists.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been trying unsucessfully to open an e.mail account on my Entourage 2004. My server's POP and Smtp ( ya.com)( Spanish) never works so I tried my G.mail account. Have managed to transfer the inbox over using pop.gmail.com But impossible to Send an mail, beeps and buzzes for 2 minutes then tells me it cant find my server. For outgoing should I use smtp.gmail.com or smtp.adsl.ya.com. Or am I missing something in the set up.

I am on a ship using a proxy server from our ISP to connect to the internet via a V-SAT satalite dome. We all have individual accounts and the guys using PC's have no problems connecting to the internet. My account also works on a P.C. However whenever i try to connect to the internet I get an Error message 403 "the following URL could not be found" "access denied". However if I disable my proxy settings reconnect to the internet then re-enable my proxy settings I am able to get on line but only for a minute or two then I get the message again. Switching off my proxies then on again always gets me on line but only for a very short period (30 secs to a minute ish).
There has been an occasional time when I have been able to access the internet for longer but only when there has been 3 or 4 people on line and browsing at the same time. I have spoken to my ISP and he thinks I may have been piggy backing onto someone elses account but was unable to offer any other advice and referred my case to someone else and I am still waiting for their response. I am running a mac book pro on snow leopard 10.6.4, using firefox (have the same problem with Safari) with proxy set to "use system settings" and my network preferences set with the given proxy server settings (192.168.10.132, port 3128). I have the same problems using WiFi or cable also.
Other info: my IP address stays the same. Although my cable IP is different from my wifi address. IPv6 is set to automatic. I think the problem lies with my mac as my given user account works on PC computers ( which I am using now!). Also there are 3 other guys with mac books who have also had the same problems although they are now at home. I have also tried changing to a guest account with similar problems although I cannot change proxy settings.
I have been having problems with facebook for a week now. I cant upload photos to facebook. I finally was able to get the uploader screen to generate but now I cant select anything to attempt to upload. When I use the simple uploader I get the error: Firefox can't find the server at [URL]. I have snow leopard osx and I am using the newest firefox.

I can access Google without a problem when I boot Win 7. I have tried restarting my ASDL modem/router. This was all working fine until a few days ago. I haven't made any networking-related changes in last few days.Here's what's happening. In Chrome 7.0.517.44 I can make an initial search from the search/address bar. All the content will appear but the page will never finish loading. A request for generate_204 from clients1.google.com.au never completes. Then I can cannot make any other Google requests without explicitly stopping the browser. Sometimes stopping the browser doesn't work and I have to quit it and start it again, then I can make another initial request, and the cycle repeats.

I was wondering if it is possible to create my own personal website on my own personal Mac Mini that is viewable across the internet. Something similar to what this website is offering: LINK
Basically I would like to be able to either create my own website or use online CMS software like Wordpress/Joomla on it to develop them. I would also like to have a way to link a domain name to the mac mini server if possible.
Is it then possible to configure the mac mini into a real website server?
Also, if by any chance anyone here has a good website with a tutorial on how to do this it would be great to have something to read on this topic.
When I attempt to songs in itunes on my computer I get an error message that says: "The song < Name of Song Here> could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" All the songs are listed but can not access them.

Have approx 1300 songs only 60 are accessible. Songs are not available on my Itouch. Itouch syncs but no songs there. Issue happened on 2/25 after my wife bought a song from iStore.
After I moved my iTunes media and library back from an external drive back to my new laptop (with a larger drive), I can't open iTunes. I get this message "The iTunes Library file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the iTunes folder in the "Music" folder. The only option it gives is to click "OK" and iTunes shuts down. I tried reinstalling iTunes but the problem persists. I've checked and my iTunes Library.itl file is in its proper location.Â

Just upgraded a Snow Leopard Server to Lion Server 10.7.3 and the Web Service works along with all of my virtual hosts BUT the default site that shows isn't the one that Server.app says should show, its the first virtual host that shows.
I've tried adding "ServerName myserver.mydomain.com" params into the 0000_any_80_.conf which hasn't worked. Anyone know a workaround for this? Can't use the Wiki or Webmail without it.
I am very upset and am ready to buy a different computer for my personal use than my iMac 20". I am running OS X 10.5.6 and it's a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM and the 320 GB HD. My DVD/CD won't accept/load the CD/DVD at all and the real kicker of it is is that the machine JUST went off warranty. I think the CD/DVD is the Mitsubishi one. Any help would be GREAT.

I was able to access this specific website for months using my mac - both on firefox and safari.
Recently, it won't let me sign it. It just loads for 5 minutes or so then gives me a network timeout error. However, I am able to access the site on internet explorer using my PC.
When using Safari I have begun to notice this box appearing as I try to reach any website: "Safari is no longer responding because of a script on the webpage and then it lists what ever web page I have tried to reach. It then asks me if I want to "stop" the script or allow it to continue. I must "continue" it in order to reach my web page/ If I press "stop" it just keeps coming back and back and I can't continue. What is wrong with my computer or Sarari or both?

View 16 Replies View RelatedMy Mid 2009 MacBook Pro freezes regularly. There does not seem to be any pattern to when this happens. I do not get a grey screen, and it does not freeze for long. I have reinstalled Mavericks, and I have installed new RAM. Nothing I have tried as made a difference.

Have tried remounting Time capsule in preferences. Have run Disc utility to verify 'Time Machine Backups'. Sparsebundle is greyed out in Disc Utility.
Time capsule has 1.37Gb free space and is connected via wireless and has a wireless express as a client. Would deleting the last back up be of assistance assuming corruption?
