MacBook Pro :: I Cant Log Onto Any Websites Through My System
Jun 25, 2009
I have parental control on my macbook, my mother has agreed to edit settings but we dont know what edit. I want to take the parental control offAndi've downloaded msn messenger for mac 7 but i cannot sign in.It says that the username or password is wrong, im sure people have also had this problem, but i cannot figure it out!I have a few other problems such as i cannot log in to myspace, yahoo etc. there are a few sites on google which i cannot access
I've got a 2 year old Macbook running on OS X 10.5.8. I've been having this problem with my computer and it's hard to explain...
I went to go install Google Chrome but then the site reads:
"Your operating system is not supported. Google Chrome is available for Mac OS X 10.5 or later, Intel only". I have 10.5 or later and my mac is intel based.
This has just recently started happening...when I type in a web address such as [URL] it will pop up and then disappear to a blank screen or some other websites just come up blank....does anyone know how I can fix this. My friend just started a new company and I can't even look at her site because it comes up a white blank screen and apparently I am the only who is having this problem. I have reset Safari and even clean up my hard drive with Onyx. Please help!!! Also, I have seen other post regarding this problem and I have clicked on the links for software for parasites but they all seem to be for Windows. I am running Safari on a Macbook 10.4.11
I don't think I've got anything blocked as far as a firewall goes. I've tried connecting to [URL] and [URL] and it won't connect. Other sites work fine. I tried my neighbor's W-LAN and I couldn't connect either but he connected to squarespace on his macbook pro, so I think it's something with my computer and not my apartment's W-LAN connection.
SPECS Mac OSX 10.5.8 Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.4 Ghz. 13" aluminum body, bought about a year ago Tried both Safari and Firefox browsers
Two days ago I started noticing this annoying problem whenever I wanted to load a page. The page never loads at first, forcing me to press refresh in order to see its content.
I didn't install anything nor changed any configurations.
I called a friend with a Win Vista PC and everything was fine in his computer.
I tried the Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Opera browsers. The problem subsists in every one of them.
My router is a Pirelli DRG A223G and I've never had any problems with it.
I alredy tried switching it off, reseting it, turning off and on my airport, restoring my disk, cleaning the browser's cache and info, etc..
I am helping a developer add content to sites, that run on Visual Expressions CMS and Magento CMS. I cannot login using the Super Admin login, even though my partner with a MBP can...Seems to be my hardware/software. Ive tried using Chrome, Firefox, Safari & even Opera (clearing cache as well). Does this sound like a familiar or know issue/fix, that would help me tremendously.

I need to be able to use my CAC reader but it is not compatible with MAC. I found a website that I can download a program that will make it compatible. Does anyone know if this is safe?
Machine appears to be downloading but documents do not open - screen goes dark.Running older Intel core duo 10.6.8 OSX and Virus Barrier - 2 weeks ago we began using the new iCloud email...
Info: MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Virus Barrier installed
I await my next gen MBP, I'm starting to be concerned that 95% of the web and non-optimized apps are go into look. How will the new display handle non-optimized content? Given that is very expensive notebook is going to be a relatively small market, I can't imagine web and app designers ate going to spend anlot of effort optimizing things for such a relatively small number of users. So, will existing web sites look as good as they do now on conventional displays...and the optimized sites and apps (like I'm sure Apple will roll out) look amazing?
I've read a bit about this, but most reviews say things like "until web designers update their graphics, things will remain fuzzy".
I bought my MBP yesterday and just got my new wireless internet to work. Everytime I try and get on certain websites (i.e. facebook) it wont open and says it is "invalid" nd the certificate is false. All websites work for the other computers in my house but not mine.
I can't get my macbook air to connect to some website. Most are running fine but the few that dont work say that they cant connnect. I've cleared my cache and when I try to look them up on disk utility it comes up as "Request time out". The only solutions I've seen is to turn off IVP6 but I don't have that option, I can only switch it to local only and that still doesnt work. I've cleared my cache and restarted I dont know what else to do.
Have updated clock and Apple ID locations. For some reason I am not able to access some bank websites from my Macbook, I just get a "Safari can't open the page "xxxxx" because Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server "xxxxxxx". I can access these sites on the same network with my iPad. These are the options I have eliminated:Â
BROWSER: Tried Safari, Firefox, Chrome. all with the same result (different message of course).
MODEM: I have connected the Macbook to different wifi networks (home and at work) with the same result, so it is not a modem issue. Â
I currently write this post at work on a Mac Mini. The Mac Mini CAN access these websites without issue. This leads me to conclude that something deep in the duldrums of the MacBook itself is preventing access to these types of websites.Macbook Pro is late 2012 model running Mavericks 10.9.3..Work Mac Mini is running Lion 10.7.5Â
Are any of you having this problem? Yesterday I installed the most recent patch from Apple in my Macbook Pro, cant remember the number of it, sorry about that. Today I noticed a serious fault in my computer. When Im trying to access any website that is supposed to be encrypted (ie. Paypal, banks, etc) they arent encrypted or are only partially encrypted. I am pretty sure that this wasnt happening before. I havent installed any software recently and everything was working fine until yesterday, the day I installed the security update. So I guess its not a coincidence. When I try it on Firefox the websites are not encrypted and when I try it on Safari I get a warning from Safari saying that it cant recognise the certificate or that is invalid. Any of you have experienced this?
How do I set up my Macbook to not loose Internet connection when closing the laptop? I mean I want to "fold it" and still be on the NET with all my applications running and not disconnecting from my open websites.
I just bought the new 13" MacBook Air and I went onto GarageBand and I have no clue on how to use it. Do you guys now a website or something that will teach me?
After testing this on two different networks, same problem. For instance, I'll try to go to Google.com, works fine. Then I'll go to gmail.com, wont work. Go to drudgereport.com, go back to gmail.com and it works. This is happening with all websites. Sometimes they'll work, sometimes they wont. When they aren't, if I wait a few minutes, they suddenly work again.
I woke up this morning and turned on my mac and after connecting to the internet, safari wouldn't load up any website or any link. I tried using google chrome to see if it was just safari but nothing will load up. I tried connecting to messenger for mac and it won't sign in as well. Anyone know whats up with airport?
My Macbook Pro will only connect to https websites. The internet shows it is connected to wifi and any website with https will load. I need to access sites that are only http.
I tried lot of things and i still having the problem, the page doesnt get open, just loading, and if i want to see one youtube video in other page i still cant, the video is black.I can saw all other videos in other format or in other site, but simply i cant open YOUTUBE!
Earlier when i was using Internet Explorer in windows, i used to save in Favourites the various links of common web sites which i used to visit for avoiding searchng for these web sites again and again. Now, after switching to Apple, when i started using Safari, i was looking for similar Favourite folder to save common bookmarks, but i did not find any. Instead, i got one folder as Popular, which i feel as equivalent as Favourite in internet explorer.Â
Now, to organise the links in alphabetical order, i am unable to organise, since i did not find any option for the same.
Some websites don't load in my browser or take ages to open examples are flickr.com , google maps, etc... Or they don't load at all. What is wrong with my mac?? I have cleaned my cache , browse history , etc.
I am using this same router from atleast 6~7 months.. was working perfectly few days back though, but suddenly my ISP decided to (so called) upgrade there service... and since then i am not able to fully access few webpages... Youtube is not working... it shows broken links to the pictures and videos never load... Hotmail is not working... inbox opens but all the mails are scrambled... cannot open any mails... facebook is not showing pictures not even thumbnails...
and many other sites have the same issue... i am connecting my router to the ISP through PPPoE using a Username and Password... now the fun part is all these websites are working perfectly through the same router on a Windows PC... through Wireless and even through hard wired... the prob is only with both of my Macs (Macbook-core2duo & Mac Pro)... with both the connecting options...
Since I upgraded to Yosemite I can't connect to certain websites. I get the message 'the server isn't responding'. It doesn't matter if I use Safari, Chrome or Firefox. If I try to log in to the same websites on my iPad or iPhone everything works fine.Â
Many websites, if not all the ones I frequent no longer load. Instead I'm left with a white page that loads instantly whether I click on via Google search results or direct input. But if I use Bootcamp into Windows 8.1 the internet works fine, which means something has gone wrong on the OS X side of things. I've tried using different browsers to no avail.Â
For example:
I wanted to Google "oru kayak reviews" and Google gave me all the usual results.
However, once I click on a link among the Google search results all I get is a white page and a url that reads: [URL] ...
Now if you click it you might get the resulting page, but for me its a white page.Â
Same thing applies if I were to type in directly to the address bar, like "theverge.com" for example all I get is a white page.
But for websites associated with Google or Apple for example, like YouTube and the Apple Forums here, they load just fine.Â
On my mom's Macbook Air and everyone's iPhones the internet appears to work just fine as well.Â
