I woke up this morning and turned on my mac and after connecting to the internet, safari wouldn't load up any website or any link. I tried using google chrome to see if it was just safari but nothing will load up. I tried connecting to messenger for mac and it won't sign in as well. Anyone know whats up with airport?
View 4 RepliesI am Having some issues with Safari (I am using 4.0.5), if I open up a website the screen stays white like it normally does for a sec to load a web page but the loading icon keeps spinning and spinning and spinning....... until I click the "X" stop icon and reload the web page. As soon as I click the reload icon the webpage loads up instantly, it is getting really annoying and would be great if anyone has a fix. This doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen frequently and then be fine for a few web pages and then start up again.

I have recently discovered that on safari, on certain websites such as bbc.co.uk, there are words that are highlighted in green and underlined. Everytime i click on a 'green word' it takes me to some kind of pop-up style website that looks pretty dodgy. Also it happens on google chrome. My computer is running a tad slower, but nothing out of the ordinary. I fear something may have downloaded by accident via the internet.

I have a very unusual problem on my mac notebook, which I have great difficulty finding a cause for.
I like to checkout the website www.guardian.co.uk on a regular basis. When I type the URL (correctly) or click a link, sometimes I'm redirected to a completely different site. The URL address bar still shows www.guardian.co.uk, but I might be looking at the www.google.ca homepage instead. A couple of other weird observations: Happens in both Safari and Chrome browsers Happens not only on www.guardian.co.uk, but also other sites as well (but more rarely). No obvious trigger. Site can be working one second, then I'm redirected the next second. May resolve itself before I reboot. Sometimes rebooting does not resolve the problem. My PC is on the same network. This problem does not occur ever. I maybe redirected to other sites other than Google.
I am completely stumped as to the cause of the problem. Anyone willing to step up to the challenge and suggest a solution?
Two days ago I started noticing this annoying problem whenever I wanted to load a page. The page never loads at first, forcing me to press refresh in order to see its content.
I didn't install anything nor changed any configurations.
I called a friend with a Win Vista PC and everything was fine in his computer.
I tried the Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Opera browsers. The problem subsists in every one of them.
My router is a Pirelli DRG A223G and I've never had any problems with it.
I alredy tried switching it off, reseting it, turning off and on my airport, restoring my disk, cleaning the browser's cache and info, etc..
I have been searching everywhere for an answer on this one - and if the answer is a simple NO! Then how does one go about doing this, many bought DVDs are able to take the viewer to a website is there a way for the consumer to achieve the same effect? It would be particularly handy to get the email link to work (In much the same way that it does using a PDF document).
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter testing this on two different networks, same problem. For instance, I'll try to go to Google.com, works fine. Then I'll go to gmail.com, wont work. Go to drudgereport.com, go back to gmail.com and it works. This is happening with all websites. Sometimes they'll work, sometimes they wont. When they aren't, if I wait a few minutes, they suddenly work again.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy friend's just got a new MacBook Pro, MacOS 10.6.2, latest version of Safari, and she's having problems with a lot of websites displaying some links and text strangely, as A's in boxes (pic attached). Oddly, the other 2 user accounts on her machine are fine with the same websites! She's cleared the cache, restarted Safari and her Mac (many times), changed the text encoding (and then back again), but nothing solves it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running SL and the Gmail Notifier for Mac, and Firefox. Every time I click an email link in Firefox, instead of opening up a "compose mail" page in Gmail like it used to, recently I just get sent to an old-style HTML only Gmail page, as pictured below.
Anyone else experiencing this? it's getting pretty annoying that any time I click an email, I get sent to a useless Gmail page. I've tried googling the problem, but it never turns up results that are relevant.
I'm a new Mac-user having used PC:s for 25 years. On my Windows Desktop it was easy to place new icons with shortcuts to websites I often visit. I have tried to do this on my Mac, creating Bookmarks, exporting them to Desktop. Iicons appear. But when clicked they don't connect with the webaddresses I have given.
I have read Q&A from someone who tried to give similar shortcuts to customers, but I did not understand the answers. I'm Swedish and Mac Keyboard and Desktop menues etc are in Swedish so the exact terms in English may be difficult to translate. My problem is different since it's only on my Mac I need the shortcuts/icons/links.
Occassionally the web browsers on my system will hang (indefinetly) when trying to load pages, I am connected to the internet and this issue doesnt occurr on my PC so I am assuming the problem resides on my mac, screenshot attached, Â

My powerbook started having trouble playing videos or loading websites with flash content. Then it started flickering like a strobe light whenever the screen was predominately white or similar light color. Within several days my screen went black! I assumed my screen had gone out on me. I hooked it up to a HP monitor which I am using right now. It displays fine on there. But I cannot stand being mobilized! I am going to buy a new Macbook or Macbook Pro. When they update. However, it would be amazing if I could use my Powerbook as a laptop, until then. That is when I discovered if I hold down the F2 key to make the screen light up it will light up for..... 2-3 seconds before flickering and fading to black. The fact its able to light up at all, leads me to believe the screen is not completely gone. Does this sound like the videocard to anyone else. I really don't want to buy one and find out its not it. And anything else to try and fix wouldn't be worth the money.

I used the recorder function to do this as I was unsure how to do it any other way.
I need to be able to get it to run at set amounts of time.
I'm having this issue for both Safari and Mozilla. Java has been updated. Clearing cookies, java, restarting browser and mac will still not solve this problem.

I am running MAC OSX 10.6.3 and are having the following issues
About a Week ago I noticed I was having issues on certain web pages with opening links within the page. Example: A webpage im having a lot of errors on is Gunbroker.com If I click "add to my watch list" safari just sits there and does not open the page. Same for Firefox. Other links on the page work fine. I tried this site and others on my other macbook and it works just fine. Random links within webpages seem not to work.
I have tried to reset safari, clear caches, verify permissions and fix errors on Disk Utility still no fix. I also reinstalled firefox just not safari because of my favorites.
Any Ideas? If this has already been discussed please let me know I will try to find a thread. I did do a search but could not really find much pertaining to this issue.
For some reason Safari is only loading the title of some website articles and not the text.
Don't know if its an issue with cookies or what, but it's really frustrating.
1st noticed it about a week ago when trying to load my local newspaper website....booted up FireFox for the 1st time in a long time and it loaded the news stories flawlessly.
I have an airport extreme with a 1TB seagate external connected to it. I watch videos on my macbook pro (late 2009 model) through the wireless. The video works fine and has no lag or freezes. But when I open safari and load up a site or use skype, while watching a video, it starts to freeze and lag a lot when a site is being loaded. Everything is fine when I hook up an Ethernet cable on my macbook.
Is there anyway to stop the lag on the video when im loading websites?
Google websites are not loading properly all of a sudden (other sites seem okay). I have disabled and uninstalled Safari extensions, reset Safari settings and even tried reinstalling Safari, but no success. Â

Hey guys, i got an old Powerbook that the whole family use to surf the net. I notice its been super slow lately. Ive never had a problem with this notebook, I've only done 2 reinstall in the time ive owned it. I recentluy did another one, and notice its still slow, loading websites is slow, cant watch movies on it. This is a notebook i use to do photoshop and illustrator work on.
Do you think its just its time? I think it could be the hard drive or memory, is there any type of diagnostic i can do to find out what the problem is?
I am running the above OS on my clamshell iBook Currently ive got IE 5.1 as my browser, but its not displaying pages properly, and facebook refuses to use it! I also have tried iCab, but is seems horribly slow to load anything. Any suggestions for a better browser for me?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAll of my browsers keep freezing up after 5 minutes or so of use. The time amount is very random really. This is true for firefox, chrome, camino, and I think safari. After I quit I usually have to force quit and trying to reopen brings the "already open" error.I know to delete .parentlock to restart but they just freeze again. Not sure if it's my recent OS update or something else. All broswers are up to date.

I've been dealing with this problem for a couple of weeks now. I run OS X Lion 10.7.5 and over the past few weeks certain random websites will begin to load, and then crash all my web browsers. I have tried Safari, Chrome, and FireFox and the same sites pose the same issues. The main site to cause my problems right now is Etsy.com. Could I somehow be infected with a virus or malware?

Then, it will take 1 second to start up. On Firefox, it usually takes 5 to 6 bounces to start up as well. Could there be a lot going on through my activity monitor?

Usually, I start up a video on Youtube or the like and for about 2-3 minutes it runs smoothly, but after that, the audio skips a bit (kind of like a record skipping) and the RAM spikes. After the hiccup, it tends to run normally, but after a few seconds, it'll skip again and occasionally, the audio will degrade and all audio played back through the browser sounds heavily distorted until I restart.
I used to run Firefox, but when this problem popped up, I would get this:
so I switched to Opera, which worked for a little while, but the problem came back. I tried Safari and Chrome, but it's still there.
