I get an error message that says unable to access, then the site address, then No associated application could be found. when you sent a reply, I was unable to get the answer I am using Safari as my browser, this is a recent problem, a few days, the only thing that I have changed was to delete real player.

I prefer Firefox. But when I click on a link in an email, it opens in Safari. I searched for 'browser' and 'default' in my computer's help (no hits), and I searched the forum for 'apple mail' and 'firefox' with no good hits. Maybe related, but I see no way to make Firefox my default browser. I do have it set to open on startup, and safari does not open. But if I click on a link in an email, it will still open safari instead of using Firefox.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if it is possible to connect a desktop and laptop computer using apple share or bluetooth to share an internet connection that is connected through an ethernet port on the desktop. My internet company is crap so I need to find a way to cut out the router, which I have to reset all the time to get a normal internet speed.
Desktop is a Mac Pro bought last April, and the laptop is a 12" Powerbook G4. Both have bluetooth, airport, and the newest operating system.
I'm trying to create an event in iCal and invite attendees but I get an alert saying I need to create my email in OSX Address Book. I'm already in there and I've even recreated myself - still no luck. There must be a link somewhere in preferences of otherwise of iCAL to link my email to it - but can't find it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a macbook pro that is running Mac OS X Lion. Recently, however, it stopped being able to connect to the internet through my home wireless network. Nothing changed about my macbook or my network/modem/router. Other devices in the house (PC, iphones) are able to connect to the internet via my wireless network, but not my macbook (and, incidentally, neither can my ipad now). If I take my macbook to any other wireless network (coffee shops etc.) it connects to the wireless and I can access the internet without problem. I have tried the online apple chat support feature, we tried a few things (can't remember what exactly) and have also had my internet service provider reset my modem. Nothing has worked.
I've tried various interventions suggested on some message boards here (restarting, resetting modem, deleting and reselecting airport etc.) and nothing has seemed to work. Running network diagnostics comes up with nothing, and it states that there is nothing wrong with the wireless connection or the internet. This is very frustrating, because I can't take it into an apple store (it will most definitely work on their wireless) and it doesn't appear to be related to my ISP (because of the other devices that are able to access the internet). There is something wrong with the communication between MY wireless network and the internet on my macbook.

MacBook, iOS 5.0.1,
Since updating Safari recently to 5.1.5, if I choose the Mail Link to This Page command, instead of opening Mail.app with a new email with the link pasted in, it launches Google Chrome and, in Chrome, goes to the email login page for Google webmail. If I choose the Mail Contents of This Page command, I get an error message stating: "Safari can't create an email message because Google Chrome.app doesn't support sending webpages from Safari. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send webpages." Safari is set as my default browser. This behavior started immediately after the 5.1.5 update.I use these commands pretty regularly and, through many version of mail.app and Safari, there has never been a glitch. Any ideas, folks? Or is this a bug introduced by 5.1.5 or some other recent Software Update? (Software updates are completely up to date and on 10.7.3.)

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo, I was using my UB MacBook earlier today. I had a CD in the superdrive. I was shutting down the computer, and all of a sudden, as the screen was going black, the disk in my computer came out half way and the superdrive made a noise. I quickly restarted my computer to see what went wrong. I tried putting the CD back in, it didn't work. You all know how the slot loading superdrives suck in CDs. I now slide the CD in, and it won't get sucked in. In fact, the whole CD won't even go in. A little bit of it still sticks out. So now I'm stuck with a dead superdrive wondering what to do to fix it.
