Mar 9, 2012Visited link colors in Safari, most notably visited Google links when I return to the search page, don't change colors as they used to do. Actually, I think it's been that way for a long time (years) now but I am just now coming back around to being interested in why and if there is a way to get back to the days where new links were BLUE and visited links were GREEN (or whatever color you wanted).Is this still possible with the new Safari and if so, how do you go about setting this visted link color preference?

May 30, 2012I have been trying to browz with my Safari with no success while I have no problem with firefox. the masage i get is safari can not connect the server. What can I do to correct it? My mail has a similar problem. I cant even up date my software for the same reason.

Feb 20, 2009before switching to Mac, I used an "X-Rite Eye One Display 2" color meter device with software. You can find them most places like Amazon for about $150. The device should still work, but I can't find any software for it for the Mac. After going to the X-Rite web site, I could find no software at all for the Mac as it is only windows based.
Surely someone out there has used a color meter such as this one as they are quite popular especially for graphics artists that use professional graphic monitors. I am hoping someone can tell me how to use my color meter (USB), what software for Mac Leopard I need and how to save the color profile in the Mac OS.

Mar 15, 2009I was wondering if it is possible to connect a desktop and laptop computer using apple share or bluetooth to share an internet connection that is connected through an ethernet port on the desktop. My internet company is crap so I need to find a way to cut out the router, which I have to reset all the time to get a normal internet speed.
Desktop is a Mac Pro bought last April, and the laptop is a 12" Powerbook G4. Both have bluetooth, airport, and the newest operating system.

May 22, 2012For specific reasons, I needed to connect my Synology DS211 NAS to my iMac directly via its ethernet port. I discovered that if I share my wireless internet connection (coming from my cable modem/wireless router) from wireless to ethernet, then the NAS would get the IP stuff it needed to show up. did that, voila, NAS is acting like a glorified external hard drive. BUT, when I did that, I lost all internet connectivity on my iMac. Still have full wireless signal. preferences pane says I'm fully connected to my network with an IP address, but safari always fails to pull up any webpages, saying I'm not connected to the internet.As soon as turn off the ethernet PORT, it all starts working again. And to make it even crazier, I discovered that if I leave sharing my wireless internet via my ethernet port ON, but turn off the ethernet port (in pref pane), I can STILL access the NAS just like before. That makes no sense - I'm sharing my internet via a port I have turned off, but it works? Anyway, why would Iose my airport wireless internet connection when the ethernet port is on - configured manually?

Jan 19, 2010I have an 09 Mac Pro Nehalem, with nvida gt120 graphics card running 10.6.2 with the latest mac pro 1.4 efi and two 23 inch Apple cinema displays (the older DVI kind)
I go into system preferences>displays>color and try to adjust color on my monitors but selecting different color settings on either monitor only affects ONE monitor, the other monitor is essentially stuck at whatever color setting it is set to.

Jun 5, 2014I use safari on my imac. I was able to access a shared link (to access a briefcase) via a university website. It requires me to enter ID and password to access the briefcase. It also requires me to enter my ID and password whenever I click a new file in the briefcase. The shared link was okay until I let Safari remember my password. Now when I click the shared link, it says "Error 404! No such item". I am not able to access that shared link.
I tried to log on my imac with another user/account, and found out that the shared link is still working. I also tried to use my macbook and the link is working as well. So i guess that it must be something wrong when I let Safari remember my password the first time when I accessed that link. I have done Safari Reset and cleared all history, cookies, passwords, etc... but I am still not able to access that link under my own account.

May 6, 2012Im using an Imac with Mac OS 10.7.3. I am trying to use a Citrix to open some files but I get the error message that display is configured for 65536 colors and is not supported. I need to us 24 or 32 bit color. I cannot figure out how to make this change. Under system preferences>Display I see nothing that allows me to change depth to those levels.

Intel Mac :: 27" - Color Calibration - Fault/Failure?
Feb 15, 2012Earlier today I had the LED Panel replaced in my 27" iMac (Applecare Warranty) due to a screen discoloration that had appeared around the Optical Disk area of the screen. The replacement LED has resolved that issue. However, (and I don't know if this is due to the new LED installation) I now find that I cannot 'color calibrate' the new screen. On opening Display Preferences/Color, there are three display profiles listed;
• iMac
• iMac 27 Calibrated
• My 27 iMac Calibrated.
On selecting any of the above and clicking the 'Open Profile' button - I'm given this message; Unable to determine file format. The file "/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays/iMac-00000610-0000-9CB5-0000-000004272D40 .icc" does not appear to be compressed or encoded.It is advised that you obtain further information about the contents of this file from the sender or provider of the file. On selecting the 'Calibrate' button - I'm given the message; Can not calibrate the display The factory profile for the display could not be found.
