I have a 2.0 Alu. MacBook and it was fine this morning everything was working, I decided I wanted to play CoD so I switched to my Windows side. Everything was working as well and then I decided I wanted to use Leopard again. Thats when I noticed I couldn't use my mousepad and the keyboard wasn't responding. A Mac "Genius" told me to reinstall Mac OS X through Bootcamp but how can I do that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI did a research on apple boards and on this site, but while I see many people over the last couple years having the same problem, I don't see any solutions. All of the sudden, last night I discovered that my white late 2009 macbook mousepad stopped reacting to taps (as right and left clicks). The external mouse connected to the macbook operates properly I can track all over the mousepad, including the areas which previously reacted to tap-to-click (the bottom left and right side of the mousepad) when i double-tap the mousepad operates (as left button of the mouse) Singe tap in any area of mousepad does not do anything There is no feeling of a click when I press on areas which previously reacted to tapping, but for the life of me, because I have several computers, I don't remember if it supposed to click. So I wonder if it is a mechanical or a software problem. If it was a mechanical problem, how come the tracking is fine, and double-tap works?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just bought an iMac with a wireless Mighty Mouse. I'm using it on an old table right now (until I move into a new place). It's an older table and there is some loss of luster when I'm using the mouse at causing it to jump around a little bit. I'm looking for a mousepad that'll look good and perform well. I'm thinking, if it's out there, an aluminum mousepad would be pretty cool to match the iMac.
View 12 Replies View RelatedLove my Magic Mouse.
What I don't love is that it isn't mousepad friendly.
Well, at least with the most popular mousepads that are felt and rubber.
The Magic Mouse just hangs as you swipe the mouse across the pad.
Even hangs on the rubber Apple mousepad I bought at their corporate store in Cupertino.
When I use it on my wooden desktop it works beautifully. But weeks later my desktop has all sorts of nicks all over it from the constant back and forth motion.
Anyone can recommend the perfect mousepad? Perhaps an acrylic pad would work best? Please provide links
with anything you recommend.
I have a Apple iBook g3. Its been great for so long but tonight my mousepad/button has stopped responding and putting the cursor to the top hand left of the page. I opened it up and it seems the brown clip is loose and not connected whatsoever. how it has happened? And what i should go about doing to repair it? What would i need to do to repair it?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI do not have a mousepad with my magic mouse, because everyone I have tried just doesn't track very well at all. My wood desk seems to be perfect so I have been using that. However after a day of use I have all this black residue junk on my desk that I have to get out the spray cleaner and clean it up, which requires a lot of scrubbing. Has anyone else seen this? It seems like the black rubber pads are rubbing off on my desk....if anyone has had this problem what did you do to fix it? New Magic Mouse?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a failed WD My Book Pro II and I'm looking to replace this enclosure with the Mercury Elite-AL Pro QX2 4-bay Hardware RAID enclosure. If I move my two SATA drives (currently configured as a Raid-0) from the My Book to the QX2, will I be able to access my data? And would it be possible to expand this existing Raid-0 when I insert a third drive? And will I be able to convert the raid-0 to raid-5 as well?

View 8 Replies View RelatedQuick question for the AEBS pros out there.
I have a large multi-dwelling building that I have two 50 meg connections to. I have purchased two AEBS's (one for each side of the house) and I'm considering adding a third one for the upstairs. Currently, I just have them both creating a network for each of my 50 meg connections.
Would it be better for me to "expand" the network instead and just have one large network? Would it utilize the bandwidth of both of my connections or just continue to split up the one that I have it connected to that is "Creating" the network.
Also - any creative ways to mount the AEBS? Would it be too hot to put them in the attic?
Last question - has anyone found a way to somewhat regulate the bandwidth distribution? I will have about 45 people splitting the total bandwidth and I want to be sure that it can service everyone without certain people hogging it.
When I expand a window that is minimized, it doesn't come up smoothly---it's as if it is fighting its way to expand. Need new video card? April 2009 2 X Quad core Macpro. 12 Gig RAM. Video Card =ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 MB

i deal with a lot of data and i would very much like a feature that lets me expand all folders (and subfolders) and collapse all folders (and subfolders). the reason i need this is i sometimes want to dig out all the contents of a set of nested folders or view them in coverflow (what an invention!!!!). if i do this manually it involves a lot of carpal tunnel inducing repetitive and very tedious operations and - conversely - when i am done i have to manually close up all these folders or finder (i believe) will remember to leave the ones that were open opened which means i either have to clean this up then by closing all the folders or i have to do it later when i open them.
i tried to address this about a year and a half ago and i can't recall if i got good answers to get this finished or not but i do know that some of what i said may be technically incorrect but when taken as a whole the system is glitched enough to cause a lot of repetitive work and the rationale is confusing enough to make it hard to figure out why it is doing what it is doing (if there is any reason except sheer oversight in any case).
The heading says it all. Is there a fix? Expand Group used to work every timethen only with some groups, now not at all.

There seems to be a pattern with major updates from Apple and the ability of the servers providing the content - be it iTunes or iOS or Mac OS updates - I have been unable to download successfully the larger updates but smaller (22MB for AirPort Utility) work fine. The annoying thing is that in almost all cases the error doesn't occur until after the download is complete - meaning it takes up all the time and bandwidth etc with no result and you have to start all over again.
This has happened to enough people and with enough different software releases that I posit that it is not the result of any particular configuration of networking and or hardware and or firmware and or OS version etc - but that the it is a systemic issue on the provider side of things.
Perhaps they (Apple's content providers) should stagger access or something - by time zone - or Apple should release updates over the course of a week - not all on the same day. I would much rather get a message that the server is busy try agian later - or have one update a day - and have it work on the first try - that to waste time retrying the same downloads over and over again.
