I erased mine, because I had no use for them, but needed the extra space. Now I want them back, can I download them from somewhere? or do I have to reinstall Leopard?
View 2 RepliesI do not know how or why but for some strange reason, my garageband application in my dock showed a question mark behind it and when I went into applications, it was nowhere to be found! Can anyone at least hint to me how this application just vanishes? I did not delete it but it is gone.

I use gmail and have 288 messages to upload, but it gets stuck at email 20. Have gone to gmail.com to delete # 20 email, but the application is still getting stuck. It's also duplicating messages on Mail application.

On my new iMac 21.5 I inadvertently dragged the Application folder out of the Dock and it disappeared in the puff of smoke. I managed to drag a new alias back to the Dock, but when I click it now it only gives me the finder, but does give me the large window with all the icons displayed. How do I restore this aspect?

View 24 Replies View RelatedI have an early 2011 MacBook Pro running OS Lion (10.7.3) and in the last two weeks I face the following problem with the Mail application and my Yahoo mail account: although the account appears in the side bar of the application and it will search for new messages when I launch the Mail app, it doesn't load any messages and I also realised that all Mailboxes of the named account are blank! The messages appear normally when I reach my account through the Yahoo page! I tried to remove and re-import the account in the Mail app, but it just worked for two days and now the Mailboxes are blank again! I have no problems with the other two mail accounts I reach through the same application (both POP accounts).

I just got my MBA 11.6" with 64gb storage. I loaded up my Gmail account into the Mail app and it started downloading thousands of old emails. Is that taking up any considerable amount of space? I mean the text files probably aint so big but all the attachments etc.

I am trying to set Apple Mail as my default mail application, but invariably, when I try to send an email from another program, it opens Outlook instead.
How can I make Mail the default mail application for my entire system?
I am away from home, and the inbox of one of my mail accounts on my MBP (10.7.3) has lost all its information. When I get home I want to restore (most of) the lost data from my Time Machine backup.
However, I do not want to restore all the accounts and all the mailboxes, just the one that was lost.
How to I find the Inbox for that account, in order to use the older file in Time Machine to restore it with?

I'm having problems with Mail 5.2. I can't seem to get back to widescreen layout in my mac mail. I'm not sure what I did, but is there a way to get the 3-way split screen back? I went into Preferences and tried that, but nothing changes. I've read that once you go back to classic mail, you cannot get the widescreen layout back. Anyway, tried the Letterbox app. as well, is not working on Mail 5.2.

I just bought a new macbook pro a little over a month ago and have since upgraded to Snow Leopard (fresh install). One day about a week ago, out of no where, the mail application seemed to launch itself whenever I opened my laptop (resume from hibernate?). It is asking me for my name and email address to start setting it up. From there, I press cancel and the window disappears but the icon stays on the dock like its open and when I go to the Force Quit window it shows Mail as not responding and I have to force quit it. This doesnt happen every time but happens pretty often for seemingly no reason.

I have problems sending mail to people (not everybody) since Google obliged me to change my password on my Google account (attempt breaking-in apparently).
It took me a long time to re-configure everything, I choose the "double" protection from Google (with sms), and my Mac asked me this morning to give several times my Apple ID password, for iMessage, Face Time, etc...)
Now it's not possible to send a mail to my office. It is when I send it via website of Google, NOT when I use "Mail" on my Mac.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is very likey a simple fix, so I appreciate your help in advance and your bearing with me. On my iMac (10.5.8) I use mail.app to read my gmail account. On my Dell netbook (Windows 7) I use Outlook. Pretty standard stuff. But when one app downloads the message from the server, the other app doesn't. This is a major problem because I need to consolidate my emails all the time. Outlook has "Leave a copy on the server" checked and mail.app has "Delete from server" unchecked. Other than this, the gmail account functions perfectly in both apps.

View 8 Replies View RelatedEver since I upgraded to Leopard over a year ago, my Mail.app has been pretty buggy. my mail.app is currently set up to connect to my university IMAP server with SSL and password authentication. Before I upgraded from Tiger to Leopard, mail would always retrieve any new mail on the IMAP server every minute and any time I press get mail. Ever since I upgraded however, the get mail function hasn't worked exactly as it should.
Sometimes get mail would work, sometimes it won't, and sometimes it takes a long time for my computer to automatically retrieve new e-mails. The weird thing is, connection doctor shows no connection abnormality, and if get mail doesn't work, I can get it to work again if I quit and reopen mail, which is always a pain. Mail on my iPhone works perfectly (syncs to my MBP), and I have already tried deleting mail.app, reinstalling from my Leopard DVD and basically resetting all settings.
