In Mac Safari 5.0.6 the fullscreen button has stopped working for some YouTube videos (which it has previously worked for). I click the button and nothing happens... as if it wasn't even clicked. This only happens on some videos though... not all of them. And the ones that do not work in Safari do work in Firefox.

The shortcut keys work in other applications, including Chrome and Firefox, but they don't work in Safari. The context menu commands do the right thing, but there is no shortcut key combo listed in Safari.

I have checked multiple support sites, and all indicate the same shortcut. I even tried "adding" the shortcut in the "Application Shortcuts" screen in Preferences.Â

Why can't I Add bookmark for all tabs opened in Safari while in fullscreen?

Perhaps there is no relation, but ever since the iTunes update it has become impossible to play QT videos correctly in full-screen mode in Safari. It occurs in Mac OS X and Windows 7.

Title says it all. Tried to google it, says a lot of stuff about a home key?
I dont have a home key...?
If you need to know, I have the new macbook pro
After hearing the Mac startup tone normally if you hold down C it will boot from the Mac Install/Recovery disc or if you press cmd+option+P+R it will reset the PRAM or cmd+option+V should show the unix style boot up sequence.
None of these shortcuts seem to be working on my Mac and it boots straight into Mac OS 10.5, why there not working and how I can get these startup shortcuts working again?
When I want to open a new tab in Safari, FireFox and Opera I press the keyboard shortcut of command & T but it no longer works. command w closes the window, command r refreshes the page.

It used to be SHIFT + CMD + 1, but that isn't working for me anymore..
For some reason, my assigned key, F6, does not activate Spaces anymore. I've been messing with it for a while now, but it will not work. I have 10.6.1 installed, and I'm using a late 2007 2.2 GHz C2D SR MacBook.
Here are my settings in Preferences:
So i just got a powermac g5 and cant figure out how to eject the disk drive. im using a non apple keyboard so the shortcut wont work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've noticed by default everyone else's computers with Safari on them do CMD+W to close tabs, but for some reason mine does OPT+T. It's become a serious impediment to my browsing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering if there was a way to change the short cut key combination for switching tabs on safari. I wanted to change it to something like cmd and arrow direction instead of using cmd + shift + [ or ] for directions.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI accidently close a tab or want to re-open a recently closed tab. I know you can do this using the history menu BUT is there a keyboard shortcut for it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently got a MacBook Pro 2Ghz and therefore would like to try Safari out. I used Firefox on Windows and I loved the shortcut to the Google Search (CMD+K).
But it isn't there in Safari. So I googled it and found out I can make my own shortcut for it. This is what people have said I should do:
Quote:
1. Open System Preferences.
2. Click on Keyboard & Mouse.
3. Click on Keyboard Shortcuts.
4. Click the + to add a new shortcut.
5. Choose Safari from the Application menu.
6. Type Google Search... (without the quotes) into the Menu Title field. Those three dots are an ellipses, formed by typing Option-semicolon (not three periods).
7. Press Command-K in the Keyboard Shortcut field.
8. Click Add.
9. Close and reopen Safari.
I couldn't make the ellipses through Option-semicolon, but alt-X. I think it's because it's a Danish keyboard, but I don't know.
But here's the problem: It doesn't work.
I've done it step by step and I've tried to restard the computer and done it again, it just doesn't work.
Since the last safari and java update i can not use the cmd + 3 or 4 shortkey to get screenshots done?

Question about the Command+ F function. Is there a way to close the small area that pops for you to write the word you are searching for in the current webpage by using a shortcut? The only way I know of how to close that is by clicking done, but I would like to know if there is a shortcut or something.
View 2 Replies View Relatedsince the 10.7.4 update, I have the url shortcuts icon missing in my dock: When draging a new URL from safari to the dock, it's the same problem. The icon is invisible but there is a gap between the other icons and the name of the url's page is displayed when passing the cursor. This problem is only with URL shortcuts and no with jpg or pdf or mp3 or folder sortcuts etc.. I have already reboot the dock and make a disk permissions check and repair. Restarting my computer doesn't solve the problem. Safari Version 5.1.7 (7534.57.2)Â

How can I disable the (Command + "Left or Right Arrow") Keystroke in Safari that navigates Back and Forward. If I could also disable the (delete) key from navigating back, I would be happy.Â
I edit text with these keystrokes all the time and now that I've upgraded to Lion and Safari 5.1.5 I run into problems with my workflow.Â
I just want (delete) to delete text and (Command + Arrow Key) to select a whole line of text.
How can I create a full-screen view of my Keynote slides in Snow Leopard? I'm going to be importing into ScreenFlow to create a video.

Because of problems accessing our network using Snow Leopard, I've started using the 'Favorites' folder as a 'shortcut' to our networked drives. It works fine and is very useful. A colleague has asked me to set the same facility up on his computer. When I dragged 'Favorites' from his 'Libary' folder to the sidebar, it appeared there with a heart icon. 'Sweet!' we thought. However, we then found that when we dragged one of the folders which he wanted to have in his favorites over to the sidebar, the O.S. proceeded to make a copy of the whole folder contents - instead of it working as a shortcut. What are we doing wrong?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the WMV Player plugin thing from Microsoft so that I could stream WMV movies from the web. Problem is, they all show up in TINY boxes where it's really hard to see anything and I can't find a way to put them fullscreen.

I am interested to know if there is some way some how (3rd party plugin or hack) to fully expand itunes window to your entire resolution in OSX 10.5?
I've found a great little countdown flash file that I want to run on our TV during our NYE party tomorrow night. I can get it to fill the Safari/Firefox window but I can't see how to maximise it so that everything else is gone i.e. dock, menubar etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis has been going on since the beginning of time: You put 1 YouTube video in fullscreen (on screen #1). You click anywhere on screen #2 and screen #1 leaves fullscreen! Is there an app or script that will allow me (and the rest of the world) to watch 2 flash videos in full screen on 2 monitors? I even tried 1 video in Safari and one in FireFox but to no avail.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI put off doing the software update on Safari... I just HAD a feeling something would go wrong and I didn't have time to mess with it if it did.
So today I ran and update. And it messed up.
Now Safari will "open"... it looks like it is open and I have access to all the menus. But a Safari window will not open.
I am surprised that I haven't seen others with this problem. I have tried deleting the cache and deleting the preferences file. Neither seem to have made ANY difference.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. And I am feeling like I'm missing a body part. I need my Safari back!
Is there a keyboard shortcut for switching search engines in Safari's search box (I believe Chrome had this feature before they got rid of the search box in the latest version)? The arrow on the left-hand side is cumbersome.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to stop and start Growl depending on if you're running a fullscreen game or playing video? I've tried doing a few searches on it but I can't find anything related to this topic. Does Growl already do this natively? I actually haven't quite had a situation where Adium Growl notifications interrupt my gaming but I think it could happen?
