I've found a great little countdown flash file that I want to run on our TV during our NYE party tomorrow night. I can get it to fill the Safari/Firefox window but I can't see how to maximise it so that everything else is gone i.e. dock, menubar etc.

Is there any way to stop and start Growl depending on if you're running a fullscreen game or playing video? I've tried doing a few searches on it but I can't find anything related to this topic. Does Growl already do this natively? I actually haven't quite had a situation where Adium Growl notifications interrupt my gaming but I think it could happen?

Strangely, I can't see any of the images being played and it's just a blank white square in the middle of the fully blacked out screen. What do I press to get this to stop and the program to close?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave a PC hooked up to a Pioneer plasma here, and it's basically used to loop trailers in my video-store. The PC is running Windows 2003, and I thought iTunes is probably perfect for this as all the trailers I use are the 720p ones from Apple's servers. So I connect to the PC with VNC (no mouse or keyboard attached), start up iTunes, start the playlist with the videos and they start running fullscreen. But whenever I close the VNC connection the video window disappears from the Pioneer and I just get the desktop + iTunes. The videos are still running though, as the sound is playing and iTunes say they're running, but the video is completely gone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEarlier tonight I opened iCal, only to find that none of my calendars were there. it was completely empty. However, when I changed the view from "Week" to "Month" all of my events were listed (in the proper color) on the appropriate day, but I still had no list of calendars on the left. Subsequent changes between "Day" "Week" and "Month" view continued to display the events properly, but nothing showed up in the calendar menu on the left.
I repaired permissions same thing happened.I trashed com.apple.ical pref (forgot the exact filename)�same behavior. I use .mac to sync between computers, and I use Missing Sync to sync to a Palm T|X.
I noticed that finder is not displaying all files when I look at folders with lots of files in "icon view" mode but they do show up in "list view" Same thing happened with the computer at work. I'm using OS X Leopard on both.

For example, when writing a long email in gmail, I want to look for a certain word I wrote somewhere in the middle. Firefox dynamically includes all the text that is present on the page (as opposed to just what's in the source of the page) and I'm wondering if there is a way to do that with Safari.

Besides I also noticed that while trying to load [URL] the page won't load but I can see the source code.
New here and new to making websites. I am making a site to showcase my music, and iWeb was very simple to use. The problem is the only way I can put music on the site is if i drag the mp3 file to the page. After putting 15-20 songs on the page, it takes a very long time to load the page because of all the files. I would much rather host the songs on another site such as imeem.com and place the music player on the page. it would make the page load very quickly, as well as let the visitors hear the music.
i dont want to shrink the files because the quality is much worse. i need to find a way to put many streaming music players on the page. is there a way to do this? i've looked around the forums and found nothing, and iweb didn't have anything in the help files.
I have tried using automator to load a webpage, click links and then log out. I for some reason cannot get it to work.
I used the recorder function to do this as I was unsure how to do it any other way.
I need to be able to get it to run at set amounts of time.
Everytime I go to the MLB page of ESPN, Safari loads the page, then beachballs. I then have to force quit the application.
This seems to happen on pages that have video.

I am trying to access a website [URL] and in Safari I receive "Safari can't find the server" error message. In mozilla I am able to goto the home page but if I click on any of the links I receive "server not found" error message. I have not run into this problem with any other sites and was wondering why this is happening.
View 7 Replies View RelatedOn Safari, it keeps giving me error messages saying "Safari Webpage Preview Fetcher has quit unexpectedly" and "QTKit has quit unexpectedly". Sometimes every few seconds. I tried using a "MultiSafari" v.4.0.5 and it does the same thing. I suspect it is because of deleting the contents of the Caches folder (which I do regularly, but never had problems with).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently "upgraded" to Snow Leopard and Quicktime X. Since then, there has been one increasingly annoying problem: Anytime a webpage has a movie (more specifically, a movie with its own URL), it opens it up with QT in the browser and automatically starts playing the movie. Despite deleting QT X and reverting to QT 7, the problem persists, no matter the browser (I have 4).
So 2 questions:1. Why is it that this was NOT a problem at all in Tiger (simply disabled the autoplay in QT, worked for everything), but is a huge problem in Snow Leopard?
2. More importantly, how do I fix it without writing a Terminal script that is the length of War and Peace?
I downloaded the WMV Player plugin thing from Microsoft so that I could stream WMV movies from the web. Problem is, they all show up in TINY boxes where it's really hard to see anything and I can't find a way to put them fullscreen.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis has been going on since the beginning of time: You put 1 YouTube video in fullscreen (on screen #1). You click anywhere on screen #2 and screen #1 leaves fullscreen! Is there an app or script that will allow me (and the rest of the world) to watch 2 flash videos in full screen on 2 monitors? I even tried 1 video in Safari and one in FireFox but to no avail.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI've had my i7 iMac for months now, and it's acted perfectly with no hassles or quirks at all-- until the past couple weeks after I installed 4gb of kingston ram.
The problem occurs whenever I enter fullscreen mode with flash programs-- rather it be fullscreening a youtube video or a livestream. It's more of a 2-3 second freeze, rather than a full-scale freeze. After the freeze, the computer acts normal again, but iStat menus shows one of the lynnfield's processing cores to have a sudden spike in usage for that small period of time (a spike that reaches to the top of that specific core's capacity)
It's not an everytime type of deal, and I only get it maybe once every other day, but it seems to be happening after installing the additional ram. System Profiler has the ram as running fine, and repairing disk permissions doesn't do any help either. I highly doubt it has anything to do with the SMC or PRAM either.
My screen went to Full Screen and removed the bar across the top and I don't know how to get it back. I'm on a Mac and not on an iPad.

Every time I open ITunes, it starts in a Full Screen mode - this it perfect! I don't know how I managed that. But more important: How can I get my other mac programs to do so (that has the full mode function) - a still not forget that they should open in fullscreen mode every time.

In Mac Safari 5.0.6 the fullscreen button has stopped working for some YouTube videos (which it has previously worked for). I click the button and nothing happens... as if it wasn't even clicked. This only happens on some videos though... not all of them.And the ones that do not work in Safari do work in Firefox.

I purchased a new 27 inch 2.8 imac 2 months ago I'm having problems with the computer/screen going black (sometimes grey with vertical lines) and freezing.
This happens frequently when I'm playing World of Warcraft but has recently started to happen when I'm watching youtube videos in full screen. (Do you think its the graphics card?) I originally ran WOW in bootcamp but I had this problem in Windows as well. The only thing I can do when this happens is force the computer off. This happened so often that something got damaged and I had to reinstall OSX. Since this incident I have not reinstalled Windows via bootcamp.
I switched to fullscreen mode on parallels but the goddamn thing can't exit from fullscreen BS. alt + return doesn't work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI think this is a recent problem, but it could be a problem that I have only noticed recently. This is on a 2011 MacBook Air.Â
Whenever I switch back to the desktop from a fullscreen app there is a half second delay before the wallpaper appears.
When I use a three finger swipe out of the desktop, the wallpaper disappears immediately. When swiping between two fullscreen apps (mail and itunes, for example), you can basically see half of each app as you swipe, but this isn't the case with the desktop, it disappears to the patterned grey.
The menu bar does remain there, and when set to translucent always shows the background. I have tried this with a number of wallpapers including the default and solid colours.Â
If this is unclear I can try to upload a screenshot.Â
If this is common, then so be it, but for some reason I believe this worked differently. Searching came up with nothing but I may be searching for the wrong thing.

For some reason today my menu bar no longer shows up when I move the mouse to the top of the screen in any application. I have tried restarting several times, opening and closing applications, taking apps in and out of full screen, ran disk utility. All to no avail. Not sure if this is related, but I attached an external drive and booted to the recovery volume on my mac to install Lion on the external drive. It hung at the download so I quit and rebooted to my main drive. Everything worked normally except for the menu bar. Software up to date, 2008 MacBook Pro with no attachments.
