Mar 4, 2008I have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard that I want to share between a PC and MBP via a DVI/USB KVM switch. I think I can do this by plugging a USB Bluetooth dongle into the KVM's USB input.
If I use the MBP's built-in bluetooth then when I switch from one computer to the other via the KVM, the keyboard and mouse will stay paired with the MBP; but if I disable the built-in hardware then the dongle can provide the bluetooth capability and be switched between the computers.

Feb 3, 2009This isn't directly related to macbooks but if I want to use the bluetooth built into my computer to connect to my non bluetooth printer can I buy any USB bluetooth dongle to plug into the printer ( Kodak all in one 5300) or do I need some specific kind? All the ones I look at don't mention anything about printers just connection between computers and phones.

I want my iPhone SMSs to be sent and received through my computer because sometimes it is difficult to run an SMS chat with tiny keyboard of iPhone instead better doing it with my computer keyboard. I opened my computer's Messages/ Preferences/Accounts, tried a lot to configure my phone number and build the bridge to send and receive SMSs from my computer instead of iPhone, but unfortunately couldn't find the proper steps to do it.

Sep 1, 2005Hey guys..>I'm trying to set up my jabra bt200 bluetooth headset to work with my mac (osx 10.4.2, 15" powerbook 1.67ghz)...and I can get it to pair, but it won't stay connected for more than a split second. this is a problem i've seen a few people have, looking around on various forums and stuff, and i was trying various solutions when i decided to try doing a firmware upgrade on the internal bluetooth module. I downloaded the firmware updater (1.2), tried to run it and it came up with the following error:
"This computer does not have an Apple Bluetooth module installed. It cannot be updated by this application."
Why would my Powerbook not have an Apple Bluetooth module?!?!?! It's got bluetooth installed, it's internal, but looking at the system profile, it says it's the manufacturer is Cambridge Silicon Radio. So is this normal or what? Is the firmware upgrade even going to help me out in the end? Just to clarify...the powerbook came with bt installed factory...it's not something added by me!

Apr 9, 2012I recieved an update from Apple today - it took for ever to install and then noticed that my mac outlook was sending e-mail ok but not receiving. When I hit synch i can see that the message at the bottom right of the screen {This Folder is uo to date} but when it changes i can see in box downloading with a bar and 0/22 which i think means 22 messages are trying to download but cant?.

Aug 22, 2014I have a Maverik OS X. The Mac Store replaced my hard drive for me. The day I got it back was the last day I received emails from my primary email account (POP). I can no longer receives emails. However I can send them. I've checked and rechecked settings. I've deleted and reloaded the account. All Unsuccessful. The strange thing is that my iPad and iPhone have the same setting and I can send/receive from those devises.

Mar 12, 2009A few weeks ago, I discovered that when my Mini Displayport to VGA connector was plugged in, I heard a buzz through my speakers. It didnt bother me that much, so I just dealt with it. However, today I was plugging my external speakers in, and when the connector was about half way in.. I started to hear audio that I knew wasnt on my computer. Turns out it was commentary on a college basketball game. I started to listen some more, and discovered that it was 1530am. Seeing as I use just a standard set of 5.1 computer speakers... I found this to be extremely odd, so I figured id share this with everyone.

Feb 12, 2012Not sure why this is happening, but I'm not getting all emails on iPhones and iPads. I've had several emails addressed to my me.com address that show up on my iMac and MacBook, but never show up on our iPhones or iPads. This applies only to my me.com stuff. Even an iTunes marketing email doesn't show up on my iPhone.
I just transitioned to iCould last week and that's when it started. All devices were converted to iCloud and the iMac and MacBook are set up as IMAP accounts.

Sep 11, 2014I only receive my emails spasmodically, and often don't receive the important stuff! I would receive all emails on each of my devices, using Mail (often annoying as I would have to delete it 4 times) but at least it ensured that I didn't miss anything.
Now I only receive the messages that Mail wants me to get.... and not all of them, and once it has come down on one device, it doesn't appear on any of the others. I have deleted accounts and re added them, without any change. I have contacted my internet provider, and checked all the settings, and they appear correct (although my emails don't stay on the server as a backup option).
