So I dowloaded some tv episodes on amazon.com through their instant video option and then realized that they cannot be downloaded onto to a mac. The amazon unbox feauture (that lets you do it on a PC) is not compatible with macs. Does anyone know a way I can downolad the files onto a mac??

Done some research on Yahoo Messenger for Mac and Skype for Mac and both say that can do video / audio chat with their Windows counterparts. However, it appears there are still problems. Any users out there can give me some feedback on their audio / video performance.

Amongst all the exaggerated violence, I couldn't help but notice that Jessica Alba's Macbook Pro in the movie has many of the new design traits as the Macbook Air. The most noticeable of these is the white surrounding around the screen. This discovery alone prompted me to register here and post this.Here are three snapshots from the movie to prove my point.So could this possibly be the design for a 2011 Macbook Pro release? I downloaded the new Mac OS X client for Amazon's Cloud Drive service. I double-clicked to launch it, then dragged the app icon over to the Applications folder in order to install it.
Now I see an Amazon Cloud Drive icon on my desktop, but clicking it doesn't take me to a signin screen for my Amazon account, as I would expect, but invites me to drag the app icon over to the Applications folder AGAIN. Starting from the Applications folder and trying to launch it from there gives me the same result.

I use MSN (windows live) messenger. Going to switch to Mac soon for college, so I wanted to know if there was any MSN- capable IM program for OSX that supports the webcam of the MacBook.
I heard Adium is a good IM app, but does not support the webcam. Not sure about windows live messenger either.
I was about to order a 2.8 8-core mac pro from Amazon yesterday because it was 2699 plus a rebate, which is cheaper than anywhere else, and just buy the 8800 gt separately.But i decided to wait until I got home and get final permission from the wife because of course that's a good idea, rightThis morning I get up and the amazon price, which has been the same for months, has gone up 100 dollars to the regular Apple.com price!
View 17 Replies View RelatedAbout a month ago, a friend who had just purchased his first Mac emailed me and asked why his Dock DownLoad file disappeared. I had no idea why. He still hasn't been able to reestablish it.
Yesterday, I downloaded something and my Dock DownLoad file vanished. I have tried rebooting, using (useless) Help, Spotlight, Search, and several other things. NO JOY. NO DownLoad file.
1. Does anyone know where to find DownLoad or how to bring it back?
I have experienced several idiosyncrasies with Snow Leopard, but when I call Apple support, they are very nice, but haven't a clue as to why it's happening.
2. Another problem is that the Highlight gets anchored on something in Mail, Word, and some other Apps. When I click somewhere else, the whole area between the "anchor" and what I click on is lit up. Apple doesn't know what causes it. I have to go through multiple machinations to shake it loose. I don't know what it is that causes it or specifically how to "shake it loose". Neither does Apple.
3. When typing in Word or an editor, there are times when the type changes to UpperCase and won;t let go.
Another problem is that, at times, when I click on a file, it fills the screen. Apple is aware of this problem and is trying to find an answer. Nothing, to date.
Apple support can't tell me why the MacMail Inbox spinner disappeared or how to get it back.
There are times when I can't access the hidden Dock. After rebooting and trying other things, the Dock finally shows up but any additions that I have put on the Dock are no longer there.
When I put a DVD in the slot, for the first few seconds, it grinds but does smooth out.
I thought that SL was supposed to get rid of the "foibles". "What happened on the way to the Forum"?
Is anyone finding other SL idiosyncrasies? What are they?
If anyone can help with items 1., 2, and/or 3. I'd be grateful.
BTW, Apple says that items 2 and 3 MAY be caused by the wireless Magic Mouse and/or the wireless keyboard; however, when I use alternates, it still happens.
I would like to find a LAN instant messenger for ppc machines.
I tried powerpop, but this one crashes everytime. After, i tried quickpopup, which is working. The only problem is when sending messages, it makes a new window and...
So, i've not found a LAN instant messenger yet. Could someone have an idea? I don't and won't use leopard.
So what is the best one? It would be nice to hear why it's best.

It seems to happen with people with email addresses ending in [URL]. I send them a message and it says "so and so is typing a message" but nothing gets through, my chat window remains blank. I do not understand what is wrong as it is happening with people I used to speak with before and there were no problems, except they just cant contact me through msn now. They are not receiving any error messages and can get all my messages fine. I am using microsoft messenger for mac V7.0.2 and its on a Macbook Pro using OSX 10.5.6.

I am currently using Safari ver 5.1.7. I have Adblock installed. I am not sure why but Safari always freezes when I try to load amazon.com and usually leads to Safari asking that web pages are not responding and that I have to reload the pages. Reloading it leads to the same thing happening again unless I close the window or tab that has amazon.com loading inside it. I have not experienced this with any other websites so far. So now I am stuck having to use Chrome when I want to load Amazon.com. Anyways I have a Macbook Pro 15" Early 2011 with 2.2 Ghz Intel Core i7 and Mac OS X version 10.7.4.

I'm working on a jpeg image in Preview, but noticed I don't have the option to chose instant alpha under the select menu.

The thing is pretty straight-forward. I would like an "one-click" solution for switching a primary display. (from my iMac to my TV). Only way I know is to go to the settings and drag the status bar to a secondary display to make it primary. I thought I could record that action via Automator, but there are many windows and stuff, so it depends on momentary state of iMac (RAM, processor, etc..) way too much. For ex. it takes different amount of time to open the settings window, so the probability of Automator clicking into blank is pretty high at times. I think this could be somehow solved with a script, but because I'm not really good with Terminal and similar stuff (besides basic commands) and I don't know for which file I should look, so I can't do it on my own.
