I would like to find a LAN instant messenger for ppc machines.
I tried powerpop, but this one crashes everytime. After, i tried quickpopup, which is working. The only problem is when sending messages, it makes a new window and...
So, i've not found a LAN instant messenger yet. Could someone have an idea? I don't and won't use leopard.
I am looking for an instant messaging client that runs on os9. It will be running on a tray load 333mhz imac with 96 megs of ram. If anyone knows of a good one, reply. I have already checked google with no luck.

I am currently using Adium so I can consolidate all my accounts into one.
However, it does not have a webcam feature. Is there another program you can recommend to me that does all of the above. I am sad. I couldn't chat with my friend.
I have downloaded about 3 different instant messengers:
- Mercury Messenger
- aMSN
- Microsoft Messenger (newest version)
These all claim to have the ability of video chat and using the webcam, however, none so far have done so and every time I have tried it has failed or cancelled and can't connect.
I would like to know if I'm doing something wrong, I have gone through all the preferences and sorted everything that I think is right.
I use MSN (windows live) messenger. Going to switch to Mac soon for college, so I wanted to know if there was any MSN- capable IM program for OSX that supports the webcam of the MacBook.
I heard Adium is a good IM app, but does not support the webcam. Not sure about windows live messenger either.
Okay, so I have an intel Mac (Macbook)... and I use Crossover, so I can run Wind0ze apps such as Digsby. I am trying to find something to use for Twitter, Facebook, Blogger (definitely those).
I have Adium for IMing for myspace, facebook, yahoo, msn, aim, etc
and Digsby (and with Digsby, Facebook - not the IM part, but the social networking part doesn't work)...
I have recently bought a Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 for Mac. If I connect the cam then I can find it back in "About this Mac - More Info - USB" as Logitech webcam. I also can use it in iChat. But when I log in on an Instant Messenger Chat, the Adobe Flash Player settings only recognise the iSight as webcam...not the Logitech. The Apple help desk directed me to Logitech and Logitech told me that it is somewhere in the apple programs.

I have looked at ichat and like it but it doesn't work with many of the above services. Also, I have seen some clients that may work with msn but chat only, not video. I want to be able to use video whenever possible.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a Mac OS X from my brother, we set up the internet on it and everything. I clicked on the messenger, but it won't work. It told me: Sign in to Microsoft Messenger failed because the service is not available or you may not be connected to the Internet.
So I downloaded MSN Messenger for Mac, installed it, tried to sign in but again it said the same thing!!!how do I make it work?!

I downloaded MSN for mac, months ago and everything was working fine. Now, I am having problems receiving instant messages from some of my msn contacts. It seems to happen with people with email addresses ending in [URL]. I send them a message and it says "so and so is typing a message" but nothing gets through, my chat window remains blank. I do not understand what is wrong as it is happening with people I used to speak with before and there were no problems, except they just cant contact me through msn now. They are not receiving any error messages and can get all my messages fine. I am using microsoft messenger for mac V7.0.2 and its on a Macbook Pro using OSX 10.5.6.
I do not have and do not use a .mac address, I use my [URL] address for everything

I'm usually just a reader and not a contributer here at macrumours, but a few days ago i watched Machete, Robert Rodriguez's new movie. Amongst all the exaggerated violence, I couldn't help but notice that Jessica Alba's Macbook Pro in the movie has many of the new design traits as the Macbook Air. The most noticeable of these is the white surrounding around the screen. This discovery alone prompted me to register here and post this.Here are three snapshots from the movie to prove my point.So could this possibly be the design for a 2011 Macbook Pro release? And will this mean the new MBP will sport MBA features such as instant on technology?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe thing is pretty straight-forward. I would like an "one-click" solution for switching a primary display. (from my iMac to my TV). Only way I know is to go to the settings and drag the status bar to a secondary display to make it primary. I thought I could record that action via Automator, but there are many windows and stuff, so it depends on momentary state of iMac (RAM, processor, etc..) way too much. For ex. it takes different amount of time to open the settings window, so the probability of Automator clicking into blank is pretty high at times. I think this could be somehow solved with a script, but because I'm not really good with Terminal and similar stuff (besides basic commands) and I don't know for which file I should look, so I can't do it on my own.

So I dowloaded some tv episodes on amazon.com through their instant video option and then realized that they cannot be downloaded onto to a mac. The amazon unbox feauture (that lets you do it on a PC) is not compatible with macs. Does anyone know a way I can downolad the files onto a mac??

As much as I love the tight integration of Spotlight, I miss one feature: I want to immediately have a look at the document that is found and be able to locate the search terms within (going from one place to the next). I am using Copernic Desktop Search on my PC and it immediately provides a preview of the search term in the document. Is there a similar free program for the Mac? I found Foxtrot, but it is 29$ just for the Personal Edition [URL:..]

Why can't I open and answer an instant imessage notification using just one key(such as enter key)? If I shouldn't, what's the use of answering right from notification? I can instead, move my mouse to the app, right?

Ok I've looked around the net and the fastest dual G4 I see is a 1.8 GHZ upgrade to the 7447 chip that has 512KB of L2. I've seen a single 2.0GHZ g4 updrade but will we ever see a dual 2 GHZ g4? More importantly is freescale or whoever owns the chips now are going to make faster G4s for those still not willing to let go of their g4s (myself included going strong after 4 years) I would like to hold on to my dual 1.25GHZ longer but a 2HZ+ dual G4 seems promising for Final Cut Pro and Photoshop.
