Feb 4, 2007For some reason spell check does not work on my mac. I have Microsoft Word 2004 and as far as I can see I have the spell check on and it should be functioning correctly. No matter how many words I spell incorrectly, I'll hit Check Spelling, and it'll say that there aren't an errors. I click ok and that's it.

Oct 14, 2009I have two computers (an iMac and a MacBook). I am about to buy Office 2008 Student + Home, but I'm wondering about the activation part. Can I install it on both computers? From what I understand, the license for Office for Windows allows you to install on one desktop and one laptop. Is that true of 2008?
If not, will activation be a problem (In other words, does the activation expire, like with Windows? Meaning, I can activate it on different hardware after about 3 to 6 months)?

Aug 24, 2009I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.7 i am working on Word 2008 for Mac, version 12.0.1 (080305).
My problem, i created one text box in a document, somehow 2 more appeared. I made the mistake of thinking that to delete the extra text boxes, i simply highlight them and delete them. Silly stupid me, nothing that simple exists and i have wasted an hour trying to figure it out. The help button does squat, barely gives you any info on a text box much less trying to delete it. Does anyone know how to delete a text box in a word document?

Mar 13, 2012I'm using MacBook Pro 10.5.8. I'm having trouble with microsoft 2004. When I select text from a portion of the document (like a paragraph) to change its property (like make it bold, or shift a block of text over by a tab), the whole document (everythiing else that i did not select) moves. This can happen to 200 pages! It's driving me nuts. It's also doing it to new documents. I have thrown away my preferences file: preferences/com.microsof.Word.plist; and restarted my computer but it keeps happening. I'm trying to finish a huge writing project with deadlines at the end of the week and it's making it really difficult to work.

I am able to start a new document but if I try to save it all of the action/editing buttons fade/unhighlight (save, print, quit, copy paste, etc) and I am ubable to do anything. However, most of the buttons in view, history, bookmarks, tools, window & help still work.Then I have to force quit because the option to quit is no longer available.

Nov 17, 2009When I am running spellcheck, sometimes I need to click on "ignore" and sometimes on "ignore all". If I click on "ignore" the first time and then move on to the second queried word "ignore" doesn't work. I have to click on "ignore all". Then the third time "ignore all" doesn't work and then I click on "ignore". So basically I have to alternate between the two options all of the time.
