I had to restore my MacBook Pro the other day. Microsoft Office 2011 was installed at the Apple Store and now I can't find the registration code. Where is it?
I've seen conflicting information about the new Office Mac release. Have Macros been restored to Excel? And if so, what language are they using? Has anyone tried them or tried to import Macros from Excel 4 or Excel 5 macro languages?
I have a macbook pro with microsoft office installed on it. I use this macbook primarily for testing and end up wiping it clean and restoring a backup onto it. Whenever I restore a time machine backup and then open an office app I am prompted for the activation code. Well I have done this enough times where I have reached the max number of activations so I have to call microsoft and get a number from them. I thought that a restore would restore everything so that it would restore office already activated.
I've had to rebuild my mac. I have a quicktime Pro activation code, but not sure how to activate it. Everything I try directs me to the MAC website to buy it . But I've done that already!
Does anybody know where the controls / forms toolboxes are. Just got to the end of building a spreadsheet, and cannot find the control toolbox anywhere for adding spinners, check boxes etc. Is it even included anymore, as web searches draw a total blank for me.
In bootcamp I got all the way to the part where I have to enter in my windows activation code during the windows installation. I just realized however that the code I have is wrong, and I can only get it from the guy I bought the copy from tomorrow. My question is, can I just shut down my laptop and start from the partition with no problems once I have the code?
Recently just bought a macpro and my roommate had a copy of office. I installed it, but it reached the max capacity of installations already so I uninstalled it and bought a new copy and new product key. Everything works great, but when I am on the same network as my roommate and try to open up a MS application, it tells me that I have reached the max capacity for installations under my roommates product key. The installation process does not ask to me to input my new product key so I am on why it is telling me I am still on his and what I need to do next.
I've searched google for hours and not found a workaround for this issue: I have Office 2007 Education and it allows up to 3 activations on 3 separate computers. Currently I have it activated on 2, and I just installed it using bootcamp and activated it successfully. However, I am currently using VMware Fusion and I anticipated being able to load Office without an issue through the virtual machine. Unfortunately, it's now telling me (when loaded in VMware) that I have to activate office 2007 again. Problem is that it has already been activated 3 times, so it's not allowing me. Everything still works fine on bootcamp, but apparently VMware is being treated by office as another physical PC. Has anyone found a successful workaround to this? changing VMware's MAC address to the same as OSX and XP's, but I can't figure out how to do this.
Does the new office have the same 1 time use code as the windows version of office? I'd like to install office 08 on my PB, but don't want to risk having to buy a new version once I get a new MBP later this year.
I updated to Lion on my desktop a few months ago and I swear now I can't read older Microsoft word and Excel documents correctly on this computer using Office 2011. The document opens and you can see all of the data in a preview window (from finder) but once it opens fully the data/words are not there. I have Lion on a brand new Macbook Pro I just purchased and installed the Microsoft Office 2011 and it opened the excel document I was having trouble with fine.I can't find many links for Office for Mac issues.
I forgot my administrator's password for my home computer. I purchased office 2008 for mac with a free upgrade to office 2011. I upgraded it to 2011 when it came out (late 2010/early 2011). I have since made a new password and forgotten what it is. The mac tells me to reinstall my microsoft office but when I do, with the office 2008 disc, it tells me I have MORE RECENT SOFTWARE and to use that. I did it on line and cannot find it again.
This question might be a bit premature, however, given the 11.6 resolution, and Office 2011 system requirements (res req. is: 1280 x 800), do you think Office 2011 will install and run on the 11.6 Air?
I recently bought the microsoft office for my Macbook pro, but I just got a new MBA and did the migration assistant thingy. Now the microsoft office on the MBA does not work. There seems to be no uninstall option for the Office 2011.
You know all those templates and everything right? They all freeze for me. Word, PowerPoint & Excel. The programs work fine though, but I use the "recently used files" or whatever it's called and also the templates. The templates in PowerPoint are really awesome.
I am using a trial version of Office 2011 for Mac! When I try to import the outlook pst files from my pc and follow the correct procedure it doesn´t work. Outlook only says that it has encountered an unknown problem and is shutting down.I talked with Microsoft support but they don´t support their trial versions only premium. That I think is funny because if the trial version is not working how can you trust them that the premium version is working.
So I got Office 2011; it's pretty good stuff. Unlike Windows based systems, it did not remove Office 2008 which is different. I am wondering if there is any reason that I should or should not remove 2008 since I have 2011 (exact same programs).
I'm preparing to restore my MacBook Pro to factory settings, so I'm putting all the files i'd like to keep onto an external hard drive. I know it's a really dim question but I was wondering if I save Microsoft Office onto the hard drive, am I able to use it again? Obviously at the time I purchased it I used a purchase key thingy, so I wasn't sure if I would have to re-install it and it would ask for another key...
Two strange issues that I can't fix on my new MB Air 13 with MS Office for MAC 2011 and Excel.
1) I can't get the Standard Toolbar to show up when I open a new worksheet. I go to view, toolbars and then see that the Standard Toolbar is checked, but it doesn't show up. The only way to get it to show up is to do a series of steps: - uncheck Standard Toolbar menu and go back out; - go back in and check the Standard Toolbar and back to the spreadsheet - the Standard Toolbar still doesn't show up; - so then I click on the Layout tab on the ribbon and then it shows up!
2) I can't see the bottom of the window/spreadsheet - which means I can't resize the window. To resolve this, I have to do these steps: - open system preferences and change my MBA screen resolution from 1440 x 900 down to 1280 x 800 - then go back to the spreadsheet, and resize the window (make it smaller on the screen) - go back and resize the window back to 1440 x 900 - and then close the system preferences at this point, the Excel spreadsheet window is smaller and I can see/use the bottom of the screen to resize, etc.
Can't figure out what setting I have wrong or why I can't get Excel for Mac 2011 to work correctly on the MB Air screen.
using Office2011 cannot open .doc files and .xls files from the Windows2003 server. Could last week, not this week. copy file to desktop and open no problem. open the file from NAS, no problem.
error message received: ******.doc uses a file type that is blocked from opening in this version

I just returned my macbook air to fabric settings and put all my valuable stuff on a usb stick, everything from the usb stick works but office 201 it says that there was a problem with my installation-program of office and that i need to install it again but i don't have any disk from word just the office folder in my application folder.
I have problems to approve my Mac from another device. There is a request for the Security Code to turn on the iCloud key chain. Where do I find the security code? I do not recall being issued one or making up a code.
I was at an Apple Store this weekend and playing around with the new MBA. I noticed that they had MS Office 2011 installed already. I checked out the version number and it's 14.0.1, build 101008. Anybody knows if this version is just Apple store, or it'll be an update?
I thought I saw somewhere that there is a trial of Office 2011. I can't seem to find it anywhere. anyone know where I can get a trial? I want to play with the OUtlook vs. using the web access that I have now before I commit to $180
Office for Mac 2011 is now available for $9.95 for eligible Home Use Program users. Here is the link for DOD personnel. Make sure to follow the link from your NMCI or equivalent computer. HUP FAQ.
So, Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac is in it's near-finished form (Beta 4) but it seems none of the last 4 Betas, or the Messenger Beta app seems to be able to run under PowerPC architecture, which sucks considering Microsoft bragged on allot about Office 2008 being a Universal app but now it seems like they want to abandon it completely. This is a terrible decision since I use a PowerPC mac and so does my school (They went crazy on iMacs and PowerMacs in early 2006). And I know you'd say to me why not just get a Mac mini, but I just can't afford one and my school would have to rework their whole server aswell as splash out. I love the new interface and icon designs for office but it seems it's time to switch to iWork. It doesn't seem right of MS to abandon PowerPC support in Messenger just for the sake of video chat, Skype, Yahoo!, AIM and others all still support this yet they are Universal and don't have any problems doing so.
