MacBook Pro :: Best Way To Compress Longer HD Videos For Web?
Apr 9, 2012I am struggling with the best way to post HD, as well as SD videos to the web - Vimeo as well as YouTube sites. Some of my files are up to an hour long, and above. I've tried mp4, H.264 compression, multi-pass, as well as ProRes in various settings. The files are either too small or too large. I have an stand-alone Flash encoder, but it seems to take an inordinate amount of time. My computer only has a Duo Core - its the first Intel processor. Is it too slow to process these large Video files?

May 5, 2010I was previously running Leopard with iPhoto '08. With this setup all .mov format movies that I took with my digital camera imported into iPhoto along with the pictures. They showed up in thumbnail view along with the pictures and I could launch the movies in Quicktime by double-clicking on the movie thumbnail in iPhoto.
After upgrading to Snow Leopard (but still using iPhoto '08) the video thumbnails still show up, but double-clicking on them does nothing. Double-clicking on image thumbnails still opens the image as normal. I can still view the movies by right-clicking, selecting "show file," and then double-clicking on the movie thumbnail in Finder.
Safari :: Videos No Longer Playing Properly?
Mar 23, 2012Recently videos are no longer playing properly on Safari, though they are on other browsers.Â
YouTube videos flicker and often display no video while the audio plays. Today where video should appear on The Onion site there was only the progress bar, with no audio either.Â
I was going to delete and reinstall Safari, but Momma Apple don't like that. What to do? A Flash problem at only affects Safari?

Jun 26, 2012 I've recently upgraded to Lion and have found that Quicktime movies and embedded Flash movies won't work. With the embedded flash all I get is a black box, and with quicktime movies, such as the ones on the Apple website, I get nothing - the irony of not being able to watch movies on the Apple site with my Apple iMac gives me a little chuckle. Anyways ....... I've been reading thread after thread and trying lots of different things but nothing works. I've got this feeling inside that says it's something simple but just can't seem to find it.

Apr 30, 2012I remember being able to tab through the buttons in certain windows. For example, when I press the power button to shutdown, I used to be able to tab through 'restart' 'sleep' 'cancel' and 'shutdown', then press either space or enter to make my selection. But for some reason, I can no longer do these things. I do not remember when I first lost this function, but it's been a while. Is there a setting that enables this?

MacBook Pro :: Its No Longer Connect To My Tv
May 5, 2012Until a recently I had no difficulty connecting my mid 2010 macbook pro to my LG tv using a mini display port to HDMI cable. The software on the Mac is OS X Lion 10.7.3 Now when i plug it does not work. The tv recognisies the computer is plugged in but it enlarges the screen so can only see a small part and the display on the computer does the same so I can get into the display menu to do anything there. When I unplug it it goes back to normal but i cant do anything with the display preferneces as its not plugged in. I have tried a new cable but this didnt work.

Jun 21, 2014my Macbook no longer recognises any "alien" accounts.It started with mail no longer accepting my gmail and hotmail accounts and constantly asking for the passwords and rejecting them even though I'm 100% sure I used the right password.
Even tried resetting the passwords for all google and hotmail accounts and using those passwords.I deleted all accounts in system preferences and then tried adding them again to accounts.It still wouldn't accept any passwords.I deleted the passwords stored in keychain but that didn't work either.Now I have the same with twitter and Facebook accounts set up on my mac.
And now it doesn't let me add my iCloud account to mail anymore.Is there some sort of reset button to just wipe the whole macbook clean or something as it is quite unworkable this way.
MacBook :: Pdf Maker For Longer Documents On Mac?

The print to pdf function is great, but I've noticed that for longer documents it divides the file into 3 separate sections/documents. This is annoying.
Is there anyway around this within the operating system, or is there other software like "cute pdf writer" for the mac . It seems that "cute" was only written for PCs since Macs tend to not need it.

Nov 2, 2009I have been using my headphones in new macbook pro for about 3 months and everything has worked fine. About two weeks ago I started using external speakers, but my headphones still worked when I plugged them in, until about yesterday. The headphones are not even recognized the the volume just goes throught the laptop speakers. My headphones work with my ipod still so I know they are fine.

It displays a lightish blue screen with the loading symbol as seen below the apple logo when starting up any machine. The only thing I have done differently recently is started using an external monitor and kb/mouse. Although I have disconnected all of these and it still does it.

I was told by Extensis that I could not get them back, but that I needed to upgrade to Fusion 3 which would be compatible with Lion. I did that. When I tried to get my stored fonts off the CDs and DVDs I'd stored them on all the CDs appeared to be blank and I got a message on the DVD that it cannot be read on my computer. MacBook :: Died And Will Not Turn On Any Longer
May 15, 2012I have a 2008 17" Macbook Pro A1261. The other day I was working on battery life and noticed it was about to drain, so I plugged in my adapter. The adapter was not lighting up and I assumed that it had just stopped working. My Macbook is completely dead at this point. I bought another adapter (the newer L shaped ones) and when I plug it in the light comes on green but does not change colour to amber. When I try to power my mac on it does not come on with the battery in or removed.Â
I have tried an SMC reset, holding shift, etc. and nothing has worked thus far. My issue is that how can my macbook all of a sudden just "die" when it was working PERFECTLY fine before the battery drained? I assumed buying another adapter would fix the issue.
Could this simply be because my macbook does not yet have the firmware installed for the new L shaped adapter? If so what steps can I take to install the firmware? I know it is not the magsafe adapter because I have tried two others with no luck.Â
