I downloaded it to my Mac (years ago!).. The Cover Flow option refuses to work with me, as rather than showing cover art for each album, it shows it for each song. This causes several duplicates showing up for each album, while browsing on Cover Flow only!I've gone through my Music - iTunes folder multiple times, cleaning through duplicates items and so on. I don't know if iTunes Libraries stored on my Mac is causing this (iTunes Database File).

I'm having a problem playing games on Pogo.com. When I click on a game it says I need to download Java. I click download, it says Apple has its own version and to update my software. Did that, doesn't work. I found this article. [URL]. I found the Java preferences folder, it looks exactly like this, except that I don't have the "Enable applet plug-in and webstart applications" box on mine. Is there any way to uninstall and reinstall Java?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI do not think my 10.5.7 updated correctly. I have a unibody. When I click on my battery icon it does not show the different profiles. I updated my brothers MBP (Santa Rosa) and he DOES have the profiles in the task bar. The main problem here is that his installed with no problems. MINE, on the other hand, was installing, it freaked out, and I had to force restart it. When it restarted, I had 10.5.7. Is there a way to kind of uninstall it and then reinstall it?

Have 2006 Macbook pro. Came with tiger 10.4.8 and the disks. Worked fine. Then bought a retail DVD of Leopard 10.5.6 installed it , of course I selected install and erase and then lost my ilife and my mind. For three days and nights I have tried to fix this, and I am not a Mac whiz. Tried reinstalling Tiger, pwr up, while pushing C ,d, and T .No go. Says drive won't accept it Tried erasing the Hard drive with disk utility. Won't let me. Tried re-partitioning. No go. Changed everything on the disk utility there. no go Finally I just re-booted with Leopard (works but still no ilife) and got on this Forum.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to completely remove itunes from my macbook pro. Before the constant questions about why I want to do this: I just don't want it. I haven't felt a need to use it since I got this macbook in over 3 years, and I don't want it cluttering up my computer asking for autoupdates. I also don't want the auto update program to keep telling me to install itunes every week, because, again, I just don't want it. Â
So, I need a way to uninstall itunes and also stop autoupdate from telling me that I need to download the latest version. I've already deleted every file that has "itunes" in the name, including the receipt and the application itself, but my comp keeps telling me to update it. Â
How do I keep this from happening week after week?

I'd love to trash them, but don't know that I should.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm on an Apple MacBook (Intel core duo) and recently had to reinstall my version of Mac OS X 10.4.8 after unsuccessfully trying to download a software update of OS X (can't remember which version) via the Software Updates window which pops up. The software seemed to download fine but as soon as the computer restarted nothing happened. It just stayed on the grey screen at the beginning and the small circle icon popped up but it didn't load up the operating system. As a result I had to reinstall 10.4.8 via the CDs which came with the computer. It just so happened that while the attempt was made to reinstall the newer version of OS X a newer version of iTunes was successfully downloaded (V 8.1.1). However this does not now work with OS X 10.4.8 and comes up with the message 'You cannot use iTunes with this version of Mac OSX.

After having weeks of airport issues, the Genius Bar folks decided that reinstalling my operating system was the only opin to fix what they think is a software issue. After restoring all my data using my last backup and doing all software updates again, I am getting an error when trying to open itunes - 'the file itunes library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes. Would you like to download itunes now?. The two oprions I am given are 'quit' and 'download itunes'. If I chose to download itunes it tells my there are no updates! I have also plugged my ipod into my laptop and it doesn't recognize it. What should I do?? I am totally lost. When I ran the updates last night it showed itunes updating, so I am unclear as to why it isn't even opening.
