My internet connection is very intermittent on Mac, while solid on PC and other Apple devices. Connection can only be maintained using ethernet.
Cable support says to try uninstalling then reinstall the wireless network adapter card.

Months ago I downloaded and installed the Lion compatible drivers required that worked fine. Yesterday (with no reason, no changes, nothing at all: just working) the printer started to refuse to print as it asked for a different paper format: A4 or Letter. Despite many attempts to specifically send print jobs in A4, which is the paper format loaded in the tray, the printer continued to refuse all prints.Today I ended up removing the printer from the list, as it became unnecessary, and I also liked to uninstall the printer driver as well, since Canon released a newer version.Currently, when trying to reinstall the printer, 2 drivers are displayed: UK and US. This lets me assume that those 2 drivers are still installed in my system: I wanted to remove both of them and start from scratch by reinstall the driver and he printer as the system was new. How can I remove the driver, so that Lion won't recognize it and that I could make a clean install of the previous working printer?

I use an old HP Laserjet 3200 that I've owned since they first came out. It has worked wonderfully for years and years. The first time I had to print something on my MacBook Pro, I was surprised that it was effortless. The printer was automatically recognized and my print job went without a hitch. The next time I used Software Update I got a driver update for the HP Laserjet 3200. I thought, wow, these guys are really on the ball.
I just used the printer one time and they already know I need the updated driver. But the new driver's screwed everything up and instead of getting the perfect print job I got before, the printer just starts throwing out blank pages. Is there any way to un-install this one software update of this one driver? It arrived by itself, nothing else with it, and it's in my list of updates specifically referencing the HP Laserjet 3200.
I just updated my Mac I Book G4 from OSX 10.3 to 10.4. Now when I click on my Epson Smart Panel icon to start scanning I get a message that says Install the supported twain driver. I have downloaded the Epson Twain Driver v 2.77. I am told I need to uninstall the old Twain driver. How do I do that?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI do not think my 10.5.7 updated correctly. I have a unibody. When I click on my battery icon it does not show the different profiles. I updated my brothers MBP (Santa Rosa) and he DOES have the profiles in the task bar. The main problem here is that his installed with no problems. MINE, on the other hand, was installing, it freaked out, and I had to force restart it. When it restarted, I had 10.5.7. Is there a way to kind of uninstall it and then reinstall it?

Have 2006 Macbook pro. Came with tiger 10.4.8 and the disks. Worked fine. Then bought a retail DVD of Leopard 10.5.6 installed it , of course I selected install and erase and then lost my ilife and my mind. For three days and nights I have tried to fix this, and I am not a Mac whiz. Tried reinstalling Tiger, pwr up, while pushing C ,d, and T .No go. Says drive won't accept it Tried erasing the Hard drive with disk utility. Won't let me. Tried re-partitioning. No go. I downloaded it to my Mac (years ago!).. The Cover Flow option refuses to work with me, as rather than showing cover art for each album, it shows it for each song. I need help to reinstall the software for my Lexmark Z615 printer. Due to other problems on the MacBook, I had to wipe the hard drive and start over. When I did, I could not find the CD-ROM with the software for the printer. I am still looking for it.  I then went to the Lexmark website and downloaded the "Lexmark Utility Web Installer.dmg" for the Z600 series.  I opened that file and activated the "Z600 Series Utility." That led me to a window that asked for the "printer software." I looked at the list of "printer software" offered by the utility, and none of them was for the Z615. I chose another one more or less at random and tried to print with it. Of course, the printer did not operate. I have gone into "printer setup," and here is where I am:

I had Parallels installed, but I ended up back with Bootcamp. After I uninstalled it I noticed under iStat Pro Widget there were two parallels network connections. I went to the System Prefs - Networks and deleted them, but every single time I restart my computer they pop back up! The system tells us "No Driver Update Needed for this System", and will not allow driver to be installed. My neighbor has an IMac with OS 10.4.11 installed. When I open System Preferences and select the Network icon, the Network window comes up but it is overlayed with a message that states: "Your network settings have been changed by another application." When I click OK, this same overlaid window comes back.
The only way I can get out of System Preferences at this point is to do a Force Quit. In other words, because this overlaid window appears, I am unable to access the Network window to look at TCP/IP settings, make changes, etc.
Next I went into System/Library/Preference Panes/Network.prefPane(more info) to look at the application that appeared in the "Open with" field. It stated "System Preference." I replaced this with a new "System Preferences from the Applications Folder, but the same thing happened - even after I rebooted the computer.
Please let me know how to solve this problem so I can access the Network System Preferences properly.

I have a home network running 3 PC's(with XP) and 2 Macs (with Tiger OS X 10.4.8). Mysteriously one of my Macs(MacMini) refuses to show a Network icon in the Finder sidebar? I have used the Go > Network menu to try to get a Network icon, but this does work. Yesterday I did a scheduled Mac OS system update, and it seems that since then I have not been able to see/get a Network icon in my Finder.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? PS - I am able to use the old 'GO > Connect to Computer' method, then type in the smb://myOfficePc, and access shared files on other PCs on the network. So networking is configured properly on this MacMini.
I have Alltel Mobile Broadband. Up until the other day, it's been working fine. I'd set up a network on my macbook after connecting to the Alltel network, then I'd enable internet sharing. Then my iPod Touch, iPad, etc would all be able to go online.
The past couple days, however, the connection just won't share.Anyone have any idea what could be doing this and how to fix it?
I am trying to figure out how to automatically connect a MacBook to a network drive after connecting to the wireless network that the drive is connected to.
Here is the situation:
I back-up my wife's MacBook via Time Machine to an external hard drive that is connected to my Apple desktop. It works great! I even have her system setup to automatically mount the drive upon log-in. Unfortunately, after leaving our wireless signal and then coming back the time machine drive isn't automatically mounted since she isn't "logging back-in". Is there an automator script that can be built to automatically connect to drive X after connecting to wireless network Z?
