ITunes For Mac :: Not Converting To MP3 After Reinstall OS X Mavericks
Jul 1, 2014
My iTunes import setting is set to: import using mp3 encoder - high quality 160kbs.However, when I try to convert AAC audio file by choosing create mp3 version in iTunes 11.2.2 (3), I am getting MPEG Audio file conversation and not mp3.I tried AIFF, ALE MPEG & WAV conversation and they all work, except for mp3. This issue started after I erase and reinstall OS X Mavericks in June 2014.
I've been using the Apple Mail app for many years, to access gmail. I almost never access gmail with a browser. But the gmail account is a POP account, which, now that I have an iPhone, is pretty frustrating.Â
I understand how to convert the gmail account (disable account on Mac, change account type at Google website, create new IMAP account on Mac). But this will sync my Mac to the mail Google now has. And since I've been managing the whole account from the Mac, and email deletions on the Mac have no effect on Gmail, Gmail has vast amounts of mail that I've deleted from the Mac. Â How do I switch to IMAP and get the server to match what's on my Mac?Â
I am wishing to take a frame from a video that was mistakenly took instead of a photo with my iPhone. I am wondering if it is possible to convert a few frames of different videos to jpeg photos?
I would like to use them on a Christmas Photo Card. I have played with the computer for 5 hours and haven't gotten task accomplished.Â
The devices and applications I am using are:Â MacBook Pro OSX Version 10.9.5; iPhone 5; Quick Time Player 10.3; iMovie 10.0.3; and iPhoto 9.5.1.Â
Trying to reinstall OS after the machine wouldn't work when I tried OS upgrade. I formatted Macintish HD. It looks like it downloads successfully but never restarts afterwards. No matter what I try it just boots into OS X Utilities. When I go into DIsk Utility it lists 160.04 GB Toshiba, then under that Macintosh HD. Then further down it lists disk1 and under that it lists OS X Base System.
I have some songs in WMA format on a CD, but it's not an audio CD. In older versions of iTunes, you could import and convert. In iTunes 8 there is no longer the option, and when I try the Add to Library feature, nothing happens?
I have just discovered much to my delight - that I can burn my music files as MP3 format. Obviously I have had to chanage the preferences and some items I have had to re import - but with existing files I have had to create an MP3 file from the existing file - which creates a duplicate.I can see which are which by listing KIND is there an easier way to delete the original AAC file? I really don't want to have too many (as I have too many already) music files.I have tried searching for the duplicates under finder but only the new file is showing? So far I am using a playlist to create MP3 and I imagine that then clearing the playlist and recreating playlist - list by kind and slect all AAC to either deselct or delete.

I Am trying to reinstall os x mavericks after reading pressing alt on start up is the right thing to do. I have followed the instructions upto the point where it has asked me to select the disc. The disc is locked and only has 117mb left.

My iMac (2009 version) OS 10.9.4 runs sloooow to start and load. It takes about 5 minutes before I can use my IMac. I have used DiskWarrior, TechToolPro, and ran DiskUtilities repair permissions and disk a zillion times with no difference. I wanted to try "Restore" feature by starting up with Option key held down. I do not use TimeMachine. I used DiskUtilites to repair permissions and disc with no difference. I note that there is a choice to reinstall new copy of OS X. Will that result in wiping out all my third party applications?
I am trying to reinstall to Factory settings, it keeps promting "the item is temporarily unavaialable"..Alternatively trying to recover from "Recovery Partition" it prompts "The DiskIS Locked"..Why dies apple make it so difficult to reset to "Factory Settings"
I ripped a few music videos from youtube, but they're all in mp4 - how do I convert them to mp3 for itunes? I tried a few apps from google but none of them really work, except the ones they want money for? Any good freeware ones out there?
I have downloaded a podcast which the itunes store carries. It is an earlier episode than one available on itunes store.
It is in MP3 format. When I added it to library it appears in my "music" library, not the podcast directory.
I have even placed the file into the folder containing the podcasts downloaded from itunes and changed the "genre" setting to podcast but it will not appear in that list.
According to authorized Apple agent my system is corrupted in certain areas, namelyÂ
1. Bootcamp, needes to uninstalleed and reinstalled, how to 2. Same for paralles, also, how toÂ
Aside , if parallel is working, do i need bootcamp. Of course after these are done, I will need to reinstall Windiows 7, of which I have install disk ...
I recently did a manual reboot after my MacBook Pro had frozen, and instead of the usual Apple and loading icon, it gave me the flashing question mark on a folder, which I've never encountered before. I looked up some possible reasons on my PC, and after reading that there's a problem with my HD I tried looking up how to back up my files so that I can do a clean reinstall of Yosemite (latest ver.). However, I've never used anything like Time Machine or anything else that could back up all my files, so it didn't sound like I could do anything about that at this point. I've also tried going into Disk Utility and attempting to repair the disk image. There was only 2 available, disk0 and the base system. Is there anything I can do that will repair my HD without erasing all my files?
I upgrade my iCloud to iCloud Drive when I used the Yosemite . Yesterday, I reinstall Mavericks and then iCloud is not working anymore. I can't see iCloud in Pages , Numbers, Sketch 3 , etc. I can't access any iCloud Data anymore and I can't work at home now.Â
Is there any way to download iCloud Drive or how to do to support iCloud Document and data again in current Mavericks.
lately i seen that itunes is converting my music to 256 kbps instead of 128 i seen that it makes my music files bigger like from 3.5 to almost 8 mb how can i make it back to 128 or i cant?
I know this is an ongoing issue that many people are having but does anyone know if a fix is going to be put in place to address this? It seems that whenever I transfer a 320 kb album with artwork from my itunes to my iphone and have itunes converting it down to 256 to conserve space that it gets rid of the arwork. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?
I got this error message when trying to import a CD into iTunes. It also had "The required disk cannot be found"Â it's an intermittant problem with an iMac running OS X 10.6.8Â
I have a Mac with OS (10.7.3), itunes (10.6.1). I'm trying to create a ringtone using one of my mp3s. I have seen many instructions on the internet on how to do it. The problem is I don't have the ability to create a aac version of the mp3. I have the song at 29 seconds. When I highlight the song and right-click, I don't see "create aac version". Also when I go to advance I also don't see "create aac version". How do you create ringtones in 10.6.1?
I was working with my brother import his cds into Itunes on his new Mac. I told him to import them as AAC files, but unfortunately he thought I said AIFF. He has imported his whole collection at CD quality, but now his computer is nearly full with his Itunes library. Is there a way to move the files to another hard drive, then create a new Itunes library, and have Itunes convert the AIFF files to AAC files when you drag and drop them into a new library? Or does he need to re-import his whole cd collection? The other option I thought of is to export as AAC from Itunes?
I recently did a complete erase of my hard drive and re-installed Mavericks. I chose to start clean rather than use any Time Machine back-ups. I used the same external hard drive for my new Time Machine back-ups. Now I cannot open any back-ups/items prior to the re-install via Time Machine. They are listed along the right hand sidebar in Time Machine (star wars view) but will not open when clicked on.Â
Some files I can access if I go to the actual backup folder - ex a Pages doc BUT ff I try to open the iPhoto library from the back-up folders stored on the external drive, I get the following error message -
I cannot open the iPhoto "package" to access individual photos from these back-ups.Â
So - how can I get Time Machine to allow access to the pre-install back-ups??Â
