How do I know I have the new Macbook Air 2014 if on the box it says 2013? I just wanted to make sure I got the new one. Also, i have ipads and iphones but this is my first Mac computer. I'm feeling a little lost. how to disconnect my phone text from my macbook, how to copy and paste, how to scroll up and down, etc. Is it possible to write papers for college without buying the MS word?
Stopped working a couple of days ago. It will scroll up and I can click in the side bar and move up or down but not when I use the little ball on top of the mouse.
I'm using a wireless Mighty Mouse with a Mac Mini (the newest model) and am running 10.6.3.
The scroll wheel can scroll up just fine, but scrolling down, it literally only scrolls down a fraction of a pixel (if that's even possible) per finger flickr/scroll.
I opened the Mouse panel from System Preferences and adjusted the Scroll setting, but no luck.
Suddenly I can't scroll down using my aqua scroll bar. I can scroll up just fine. This is true whether I'm in Firefox, Safari, or any sort of document-making applications. System preferences is set to 'scroll horizontally and vertically.' It's not the end of the world, but it's klunky and annoying. Could someone please remind me of something very obvious that I'm obviously doing wrong?
To move pages up or down i have to use the up down arrows on keyboard or move pointer over scroll bar. I can't find anything in the trackpad sys. preferences
which would allow swipe motions. So where do I go to bring back swipe gestures?
so my mouse pad clicker stopped working about a month ago. So I switched to tapping the pad. Now, I can move The cursor around but can't click. Now, my wife needs to print Work documents but I can't click.
The mouse was working then suddenly won't scroll. Tried deleting the pref and no luck. Tried restoring back to Snow Leopard from SuperDuper and the mouse worked fine. Reinstalled Lion and it won't scroll. Don't have USB Overdrive on the machine. Suspect a software conflict but have no idea where it could be. Haven't put anything new on it recently that I can remember. Hopefully someone has an idea 'cause for the first time in 15 or more years with a Macint9osh I am stumped!
Info:iMac (24-inch), Mac OS X (10.7.3), MacBook 13in, ipad 2
All other mutitouch gestures working except the scroll feature using two fingers on trackpad.Tried turning gesture off and restarting then enabling feature. No luck.
I just upgraded my hard drive, now my trackpad and bluetooth mouse will not scroll or swipe. Preferences for the trackpad will not open says theres an error, bluetooth mouse preferences open with no joy
I just spilled literally about four drops of water on my trackpad. However it was in the bottom left corner and some may have got through. When I rebooted (I know I panicked should not have turned it on 10 minutes later) It worked briefly and then I could not scroll or click. I have applecare, but I don't think it covers this.
I am getting more and more used to Chrome, and am liking it tons. I would switch in a second but the one thing it doesn't have that Safari does, is smooth scrolling.
I downloaded smooth scroll plugin, and it makes it great with my mouse, feels like Safari, but the touchpad is 100000000 billion times more sensitive. Touching both my fingers down and just flinching makes me rocket to one end of the page.
I'm not new to Macs, however, as I purchased my first one in 1984. I have a problem. I have been syncing my touch wheel (1st generation) iPod with my eMac for several years, no problem. I am now attempting to switch and sync my iPod with my Macbook. The problem is that the iTunes on my Macbook won't recognize my iPod. I've attempted restarting the computer several times and rebooting the iPod as well. Occasionally I can get the Macbook to recognize the iPod (it shows up on the desktop), but even then the beachball just whirls. And I have yet to get iTunes to recognize the iPod. I know the firewire and the connection is working, because the iPod charges from the Macbook via the firewire. I have also restored factory setting for my iPod.
I've had a late 2011 Macbook Pro for about 4 mths and all of a sudden the trackpad has developed some problems. If I swipe a page it won't allow me to scroll up or down again on the new page that I have swiped too, it freezes. At times when I activate the back button nothing happens and I have to exit out of the site when the page freezes. The scroll only freezes immediately after swiping and not at other times when I'm moving up and down the screens.
There is a lot going on about the new macbook pro retina and stuttering/scroll lag. I'm also experiencing this problem and i've found out that if you remove adobe flash from your pc the stuttering / scroll lag in safari is almost gone completely.

If you have Adobe Flash installed and scroll down to the comments the browser starts stuttering and everything gets sluggy.
Info: MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I'm having trouble with my new macbook pro where in some applications after scrolling down and stopping, I sometimes am unable to resume scrolling. I have tried shutting down the application, rebooting but nothing seems to work. Whenever this occurs I am still able to scroll fine in pages and safari but the preview app and xcode have been problematic for me.
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
My Trackpad Scroll Direction Natural does not work despite preferences being correctly selected. Have upgraded and restarted. The function works when I'm logged in as another user but when I created my new (main) user this essential function does not work. 15 inch Macbook Pro.
